Changelog:
February 12 - V. 2.4 - Updated API.
December 29/2017 - V2.3c - Updated API - no longer "out of date"!
June 1/2017 - V2.3b - Actually works now for everyone. Updated libs to the latest version (Thanks to Harven)
June 1/2017 - V2.3 - Updated API Version and uploaded to ESOUI by MissBizz.

Original Description:

Last changes:

22.11.2014 - Version 2.2:
- New Feature: New Settings for choosing between different Message-Types.

-------------------------------------------------------

Make Beautiful Screenshots

A simple Addon to take Screenshots without the annoying UserInterface with just one button.

The Group-Member-Marker and Quest-Marker will be hidden as well.

You can assign the button in keybindings:
control -> keybindings-> the last one at UserInterface
(The Screenshot attached show you where, buts its made with german client)

The Screenshots will be saved to:
Dokumente\Elder Scrolls Online\liveeu\Screenshots
as example.

Make Beautiful Screenshots with Steam & Co

You can set a key to use external Screenshot-Tools (like Steam or Xfire).
(Set same Key in TESO's Keybindings for
"Your Key for extern Screenshot-Tool (Steam)"
equal to the KeyBinding in your Screenshot-Tool)

Use Timestamp

You can install the plugin 'TamrielTime' to use it as TimeStamp and activate it in Photographer-Settings.

Others

Recommended plugin of another author:

You probably know that , but just in case ... Just let you know - that TESO already HAVE a button to hide the whole user interface ) Totaly clean , 100% everething goes away . I am using that for screenshots + for immersive view ( i am playing from 1st person view very often ) And option to change for JPG file - too . All screenshots goes into same folder , where is the all addons situated ( folder " live" )

Do you have the option to take a screenshot upon receiving or completeing a quest selected? Did this only happen on March 11, or was it happening prior? I use Dolgubons addons every day and I've never had this happen except on a new character where the option to take screenshots upon receiving a quest was still turned on.
.....
Discovering the probem that I reported was by accident. I had not changed any Photographer configuration options. So now I have stopped it from taking screenshots when my characters obtain Crafting Writs from Notice Boards. Also, I have stopped it from taking screenshots when the characters deliver crafed items to the Quartermaster. So far, I have left the other three options enabled by default. However, I doubt that any of them will trigger a screenshot, unless gaining a Champion point trigggers the Level Up option.

Something that should be mentioned on the Addon Info tab is that Photographer must be configured for each character. It does not have an "account wide" feature.

Further, apparently the game client freeze occurs when Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter has the "timesaver" option enabled to obtain Crafting Writs automatically from the Notice Boards. The screenshots that result are actually worthless too. Dolgbubon's "timesaver" options should be disabled while the player wants Photographer to document the receipt and/or the delivery of Crafting Writs.

(1) It does not always happen each and every time when one of my four characters obtains new crafting writs. In that regard, I have not discovered whether (i.e., how) I can deliberately cause the event to happen.

(2) So far, I have not tested whether the same thing happens when I obtain the writs manually.

(3) It has happened with Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter 2.5.17.1 and with the prior version. The most recent version has a bug, so I expect that Dolgubon will release an update on Tuesday 12 March or the next day. I have not posted a comment on the Lazy Crafter ESOUI page since Photographer is the add-on that is misbehaving.

(4) Photographer 2.4.3 is the only version which I have ever installed. I have bound a key to use it, but I have not used that keypress, yet.

I only plan on updating the API number on this addon, I've never changed the code. If this becomes a concern for many people and I can't quickly figure it out I'd be more likely to gut the feature of automated screenshots. I don't know LUA well enough to fully take on code not written by myself.

Did you install via minion or manually? How are you taking the screenshot - with the chat command, or did you assign a key binding?
Also photographer should save the screenshots to the same place the game stores normal screenshots. This is most likely Documents > Elder Scrolls Online > live > Screenshots. Does the game save normal screenshots using Print Screen?

Unfortunately it's working for me and I don't believe anything has changed in the game so I've just been updating the API number. :/ Though if we can figure it out I'd like to help you.

Hello and thanks for this! I can not seem to get it working, but I have a feeling it could be because I use LUI instead of the original GUI?

@Missbizz
You can use the function GetSetting to see if it's enabled and SetSettting(system, variableToChange, value) to change the system settings.

System should be: SETTING_TYPE_CHAT_BUBBLE
variableToChange should be: CHAT_BUBBLE_SETTING_ENABLED
Value: "1" = On, / "0" = Off

So your code could look like this:
Lua Code:
  1. function checkChatBubblesBeforeScreenshot()
  2.     --Are chat bubbles enabled
  3.     local isEnabled = GetSetting(SETTING_TYPE_CHAT_BUBBLE, CHAT_BUBBLE_SETTING_ENABLED) == "1"
  4.     if isEnabled then
  5.         SetSetting(SETTING_TYPE_CHAT_BUBBLE, CHAT_BUBBLE_SETTING_ENABLED, "0") -- Disable chat bubbles
  6.     end
  7.     return isEnabled
  8. end
  9.
  10. local wasChatBubblesEnabled = checkChatBubblesBeforeScreenshot()
  11. -------
  12. --Take screenshot here!
  13. -------
  14.
  15. if wasChatBubblesEnabled then
  16. -- ReEnable chat bubbles again after screenshot
  17.     SetSetting(SETTING_TYPE_CHAT_BUBBLE, CHAT_BUBBLE_SETTING_ENABLED, "1")
  18. end

You need to use the addons function to start the screenshot where this text is in the source code above:
-------
--Take screenshot here!
-------

@Alp
Meanwhile you could use this addon to set a keybinding so you can disable the chat bubbles via keybind:

Thank you! Just so you are aware, I'm working on implementing this. I've been quite busy and away a portion of the month. Looking to make it a setting as I've seen people make fun comic style screenshots with chat bubbles.

Re: Screenshots no longer being saved.

Test the following:
Disable all addons and see if the screenshots get saved properly.
If so enable only this addon here and check if the error is there again.

LOGOUT AND MAKE A BACKUP OF THE FILE BELOW!
Check the file "UserSettings.txt" in your folder c:\users\<windows username>\documents\Elder Scrolls Online\ with a text editor.

Search in that file for a line with this text:
Code:
SET ScreenshotFormat.2 "PNG"
If it's not there add it. You can change the ending from PNG to JPG if you like but this will decrease the quality of the images (as they will be compressed!).

Look at the second screenshot.
Yes, it can be changed in the addon settings. To be honest though, it's a lot easier to set a keybind for it under Settings > (Addon) Keybinds. I personally use "insert" since AFAIK it's not used for any of the default keybinds.

So to be clear, you'll need to go into your keybinds and change it for that, not the little addon settings windows. The addon settings window (second screenshot) is what you would type in chat to take a screenshot. The keybind just works normally, no need to type it into chat.
Thanks ) lol so easier
