Re: Re: Re: Re: New Version Coming Soon
most of the changes were to Quest Pins on map. Which I do not touch. Only map activity I do is update when the focused quest changes.

I have having a problem with choosing a quest that is not focused. When I left click a quest in a different zone or Guild or main quest it will not open it. When I choose a quest in the same zone it will change the focus.
I have had this problem before, but when I changed zones or did a /reloadui, it would work again. Now the only time it changes focus is when I do something to update the quest. I hope that I am making sense. |

Hey there!
For some reason Crafting Master Writ quests do not stay highlighted on the quest tracker. They show up as Crafting--Miscellaneous category and when selected nothing happens. If I select them on the main quest journal screen then exit out, FCMQT will deselect it. I have many fewer quests than the 25 limit selected, "show Crafting" selected and no "auto-hide" option is on. edit: OK, for some reason after Crafting one of the items on my list both Master Writs are now selectable and displaying all the hints and quest dialogue. Weird. I did attempt a reloudui before zoning to the new area so I'm not sure why it changed.

It would be nice to have an option to align text to the right side (now it's always left aligned)

wishlist: limit maximum height
I *love* this addon. Call me old fashioned, but seeing my quests and selecting them is much more pleasant to me than the single focus, and jump into a dialog to see others.
The one thing that is not working quite perfectly for me is my UI layout. I have, on the right hand side, the layout of long buffs, below that the quest tracker, and then below that in the bottom right, the minimap. Unfortunately, the only way I can control the maximum height of this quest tracker, as far as I can tell, is to limit the number of quests shown -- which doesn't work quite exactly, such as when writ quests with lots of text push it over the minimap, or short quests cause it to waste a bunch of vertical space. If there was some way to set a maximum height for what was displayed, and simply have it cut off at that point, that would be perfect as far as I was concerned. Optimally, of course, having the list cut neatly at a quest boundary would be good, but just cutting through the middle of text would be sufficient. I also observed that, with sufficient quests, if you turn the limit displayed down, you end up with a number of empty headings for other zones. The quests within them are all hidden by that limit, but the zone names themselves show even though they are visually empty. Thanks again! |

Re: wishlist: limit maximum height
I have considered adding a vertical limit as an option. I will look into it. When you limit the quests, it will still display the zone/category's you have so you know you have quests there. Never was fond of that design, and eventually I will rework that. I know it can get a bit long at times. I am getting ready to do an update later today, just a little more testing, that might interest you. There is currently an option called Auto Hide Zone, that will only show the zone your current quest is in, the rest of the zones just appear similar to what you mention when you limit the quests. I have reworked that feature, so now it will show the zones, you can click on the zone and it will expand to show you the quests in there. When you select a new quest it will collapse all the rest of the zones and just leave the current one open. Of course you can open them up at any time. Another space saving thing you can do besides that, that is currently in the tracker is in the Objectives/Hints settings there is an option called Hide Objectives for all quests EXCEPT. If you select Focused Quest then it will only show the details of the focused quest and the rest of the quest list will just list the name of the zone and quest name. You can still select quests. You can also select Focused Zone which will display the details of all the quests in the zone your focused quest is in. Also the new version has some right click options for the zone which can help in quickly changing some settings to better suit your need at the time. Including a Collapse All Zones even if you are not using the Auto Hide Zones feature. I will look at implementing your suggestion as well. |
