Awesome Info  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
What is it?
Awesome Info is designed to be a no-fuss, minimal impact add-on that will warn you about the things you want warning about, when you want to be warned about them.

It includes:
  • A clock
  • Low Weapon Charge tracking
  • Low Durability warning (includes repair cost)
  • Low Bag space warning
  • Horse feed timer
  • Research timer
  • Alert for unspent stat points or skill points

I DO want to know all these things, but I do NOT want a bunch of add-ons on my screen all the time telling me I have 95% durability, 82 empty bag slots etc. That's great, I am ready to adventure, now stop messing up my screen!

The goal for this add-on is to just tell you what you need to know, when you want to know it.

Settings
Access the settings panel in-game by pressing ESCAPE key, selecting SETTINGS from the menu and then Awesome Info from the sub-menu.
  • Durability warning: when any worn item drops below 25%
  • Durability critical: when any worn item drops below 10%
  • Bag space warning: when you have 10 spaces or left in your backpack.
  • Bag space critical: when you have 5 spaces or left in your backpack.
  • Feed horse in 30 mins: displays and counts down, when you are within 30 mins of feeding being available.
  • Stat Points/Skill Points: Shows if you have any available that you haven't spent.
  • Research timers: These are character specific, so it will remember that you want to track Woodworking on one character and blacksmithing on another. Can be configured to warn you when the current research is nearly complete.
You can drag the add-on around the screen and it will save the position.

To do list
  • Options for icons instead of text.
  • Ability to dismiss/snooze the warnings.

I like this addon, but there is one irritation that I have with it. It seems that the little box/window/element is almost always on top of other ui elements. I try to click on something else and the awesome info box is the one that I click on because it's on top. Can someone modify it to always be on the bottom or something? I just opened the champion point screen and when I tried to click on the constellation, it was clicking the awesome info box and moving it. It's quite annoying. I think in WoW this was referred to as the addon's strata. Higher strata levels would cause the ui element to appear on top of other elements with lower strata. Hopefully this is understandable.

Hide unspent skill points

I was missing an option to hide unspent skill points, so I've added one.

Here's a diff: https://www.diffchecker.com/9rwmuzzf (to apply you could for instance select all in the bottom-right field and replace the contents of AwesomeInfoConfig.lua with it).

The code was there already, so this just adds a configuration entry.

Options reversed

I noticed that when having the charges timer enabled, and not the durability one, my staff at 47% charges didn't show up in the window. However, when switching the two, it did (and mind you, the stafff was at 100% durability, so it shouldn't show up at all). It seems these 2 options are simply reversed in functionality?

Guess "horse" should be replaced with "mount" for the new content

I noticed that all 3 devs on this addon have been on within the last month (one of them was on yesterday)...
Not that it's the same as saying they are still active.
Think I read somewhere that CrazyDutchGuy stopped, but don't know about the other 2.

Its because this function was renamed to GetTimeUntilCanBeTrained()
Not sure if this is even maintained anymore (it's still using LAM1)?
In other words:
Find the file "AwesomeInfo.lua" and open it.
Go to line 209.
Replace "GetTimeUntilMountCanBeFed()" with "GetTimeUntilCanBeTrained()".
You might want do this too:
Go to line 220 and replace "Feed horse in " with "Train horse in ".
Go to line 227 and replace "Horse needs feeding" with "Horse can be trained".
Save the file and close it.

To avoid the "Out of Date" message in game, do this:
Find the file "AwesomeInfo.txt" and open it.
Replace "## APIVersion: 100010" with "## APIVersion: 100011".
Save the file and close it.

I decided to change so I can have the horse training counter starting as soon as I have trained, so it can count down all 20 hours. To make that possible you have to do this:
Find the file "AwesomeInfoConfig.lua" and open it.
Go to line 117.
Find "1, 240, 1" and replace it with "1, 1200, 1".
Save the file and close it.

There ARE a few other references to feeding, but they are not that important in my opinion.
TY so much for this. Ive never messed with Lua files before but your instructions work great. This addon is a must have for me.

Could we get an option to vertically flip the AInfo panel? I like the keep mine in the bottom-right corner, but when only the clock is enabled it's a little awkward.
