Zygor Guides ESO Leveling Guide (Community)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 472
by: Hydra9268 [More]
Important: You can't run Zygor's guide and this guide together. It is imperative that you disable Zygor's official guide from the Addon menu. If you run both, ESO becomes unstable. Don't worry though. This guide has everything Zygor's has and more!

Addon Recommendations
- If you use Bandit UI, disable its minimap and go with Minimap by Fyrakin. Here's how to disable Bandit's Minimap.

---------------------------------------------

This Addon includes the following guides.

Bug fixes and improvements by Hydra9268

On March 23, 2018, Zygor Guides announced that they would end support for their ESO guide. Later, via answers given on the forums, they confirmed they would not add a leveling guide for Summerset. Their guide is Public Domain with Zygor's blessing for the community to create guides. So I took it upon myself to create a Summerset guide for the ESO community.

Please note, I can provide some support for existing bugs. However, please remember that I did not author the tool nor those other guides, so my experience is limited. But should you find a bug let me know in the Comments and I will try to patch up where possible.

I saw crashes with it enabled. The cause could have something to do with loading the same library used in a couple of my addons, twice, or loading different versions of the library. Either way, it can crash ESO as a result.

Please note, my issue stemmed from LibCustomMenu specifically. You may have another shared library that isn't causing problems. If this is the case, you'll need to use trial-and-error to identify the particular shared library, causing problems and disable it.
Went through and disabled the following additional libraries:

LibGPS
LibMapPing
LibStub
LibCustomMenu

Loaded game in without issues.

Enabled one by one, after enabling LibGPS, game crashed. Enabled all the rest of the additional libs one by one, No crashing. Enabled LibGPS, and did a reloadui, no crash. I'm wondering if it's the load order of the libs, if one of the libs in the zygor folder gets loaded after the updated libs, the game crashes. If the updated libs get loaded last, the game performs fine.

I wonder if you could remove the in addon libs, and utilize the external libs instead, if that would resolve the issue?

Hi, all. I, like you all, have experienced the problems you've seen. For example, I can log into the game without issue. While at other times, the game crashes (same Addons enabled). I reload the UI, and the game occasionally crashes (same Addons enabled). Sometimes the crashes show the error dialog to send Bethesda a report. Another time the game simple quit to the desktop (same Addons enabled). At this point, I think the game is bugged by the recent patch that isn't necessarily caused by any particular addons. Although, it would appear addons can trigger the problem.

Ive started getting crashes again when logging in-reloading? Can anyone else confirm?

Its not constant crashes. but every 2-3 reloads or re character logins the crashes stop eventually

Since the addon update i was loggin in fine today, until now?

Maybe the crashes im having are not Zygor?

I'd like to give a big shout-out to Krandor1, who has diligently continued to work on the older maps by cleaning them up and working on separating the main quest. Feel free to follow his progress. Looking to include his updates soon after completing the Summerset revamp.

Anyhow, onward! Moving forward on the Summerset revamp and then onto other much needed things.
Thank you for your work on this time saving addon!

I was successfully able to update one of the outdated addons I use in development called Chat2Clipboard. If you use this addon, you can use the version I updated.

The issue appears two-fold. Both the API version and the libraries in the Addon needs to be updated. In the case of Chat2Clipboard, most of the lib versions were from several years ago, before the recent API update.

Update: I patched up the MapCoordinates Addon. Feel free to use my updated version.

Most common libraries:
LibAddonMenu - Updated for Dragonhold
LibCustomMenu - Updated for Dragonhold

You can typically find these in a folder called "lib" inside the Addon's folder.

Yes, downgrading worked momentarily for my account. But it's back to crashing on character load. Loading the addon after character load, as someone mentioned before, does allow me to use it. But trying to load a character with the addon enabled crashes every time.
