SuperStar - Summerset Update  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 4.3.3
by: Sigo Dest [More]
This is a patch to bring SuperStar in line with the Summerset/Wolfhunter (#100024) patches. I have continued to maintain it beyond that, and it currently supports all the way up to Markarth. (#100033)
Please visit the actual add-on site >> here << for the description, and a 25 minute demonstration video by the author, Ayantir.

Important information
Starting with SuperStar 4.2.2, I have removed the LibMainMenu library from the install. You must install this as a standalone library. The link to download it is right below in the "Required libraries" section. This change was made to play nice with other addons that use the library.

Required libraries:
LibMainMenu [Download]
LibSkillsFactory [Download] (will always be included for now)

Major Changes:
Added skill world lines "Excavation" and "Scrying".
Added new class "Necromancer".
Added new guild skill line "Psijic Order".
Added new tradeskill skill line "Jewelry Crafting".

Notes:
I play on an "en" client and do my best to translate for the other languages, but if you see anything that could be improved, please let me know.
v4.3.3
=======
- Fix for skill morphs on default character templates

v4.3.2
=======
- Fixed default character templates not working in different clients
- Fixed dialog when loading new builds -- It should no longer change skills until you confirm
- Adjusted Import UI to prevent text wrapping over the hash text box on the German client

I tested on various clients and it looked good, but as always, please let me know if you see any issues.

v4.3.0
=======
- Added world skill lines "Excavation" and "Scrying".

NOTE: Builds will need to be updated, and possibly re-entered from scratch.

These skill lines were added to the game in Greymoor, but I just heard about them this week. I apologize for not catching them sooner. I do not own Greymoor, and I do not play ESO. You should see the option to update your builds at the bottom, same as when we updated for the Psijic lines, etc.

I've done limited testing, so please let me know if you encounter any issues.

v4.2.3
=======
- Migrated included libs to use the built-in versioning system and removed dependence on the deprecated LibStub.
- Changed some libs to be optional dependencies. These may be removed in a future update as they are not required for SuperStar to function.
- Fixed a few minor spelling issues in filenames

v4.2.2
=======
- Removed LibMainMenu library from the install. You MUST install the standalone version in order for SuperStar to work.

v4.2.1
=======
- Updated to address some library issues with other addons (thanks Baertram)
- Initial preparation to move some libraries to standalone dependencies (read update on the description page)
- Updated to current API version (#100029)

v4.2.0
=======
- Updated for Elsweyr (Patch 22 - 5.0.5 / #100027)
- Added support for the new Necromancer class
- Updated the ability Ids for racial passives (should now show the correct skill)
- Updated API version
- Added screenshots for Necromancer class

v4.1.4
=======
- Added a fix for the in-game SKILLS_DATA_MANAGER error for crafting skill lines
- Updated API version for Wrathstone

v4.1.3
=======
- Fixed hashes not building properly for class and racial skills
- Corrected tooltips showing the wrong class and racial skills when loading saved builds
- Added the ability to view builds that require more skill points than the character has
- Minor internal updates to skill points and UI controls
- Corrected some default race names (Looking at you, Hight-Elf!)
- Updated API version for Murkmire

v4.1.2a
=======
- Corrected tooltips for skill morphs.
- Corrected auto-granted skills counting incorrectly.

v4.1.1a
=======
- Corrected a tooltip issue for class and racial skills different from the player.

Please let me know if the issue persists. Thank you for all the feedback, and my apologies for the rocky start.

Known Issue: The tooltips for classes/races different from the player will show red text due to the player not meeting the proper rank to unlock the skill. I will try to address this in a future patch.

v4.1.1
=======
- German clients should be working now (if problems persist, please send feedback)
- Auto-granted skills should now display their names when loading a favorite

v4.1
=======
- Updated handling of skills to start using new ZO system (more to be done)
- Added new guild skill line "Psijic Order".
- Added new tradeskill skill line "Jewelry Crafting".
- Bumped skill revision due to addition of new skill lines, and previous lines switching places.
- Added support to update previous skill profiles (not 100% successful yet)

Hi,
I've just pushed an update. Please check it out when you have time and let me know if you have any issues.

-Sigo

Hi,
I've updated the AddOn, deleted the variables and loged in. The imported skills (and CP, Attr.) now are shown in the Favorit tab, and you can see entries in the Skills tab. But ...
1 - The morphs always seem to show the first (upper in the popup) skill, not those that are active in the skill-trees. So, it is difficult to manage the build, when you don't see the set morphs (at last the imported ones). What will happen, when you save this build? Will it save the set morphs or the shown (always first entry in popup)?
2 - When I save the build as Favorit, the number of skills is ok, but the CP and Attr. are shown as 0. Are they saved but not counted and shown in Favorite or are they lost?

Sorry about this :-( . It seems, the german client handles the AddOn quite different then the english one.

And just a little cosmetic proposal :-) : You may rename the "(Key) Favorit" (which can be understood as show the Favorit tab) to "(Key) Save as Favorit"?

I deactivated all other Addons to be sure of no interferences. I don't think that it matters, but my system is Win 10, german language.
If it would help, I could post some printscreens, but how

In face of the update 29, it would be great to have some support or hints from developer or other users.
Thanks

Hi Greldik,
Thank you for letting me know. I just logged in with the German client and verified your issue. I'll work on getting an update out today.

When you log in to a character a special template is created with the character's name prefixed with a "$" symbol. So if you logged in to a character named "Apple", you would see a build on the Favorites tab named "$Apple". Now you have a couple of choices.
  1. With the character profile highlighted on the Favorites tab, you can click "View Skills" to load the skills into the builder. You might get a warning about resetting Champion/Attribute data if you were creating or viewing another build. It doesn't overwrite anything on your character, it just means if you were editing a build, you didn't save it. Once you have the skills in the builder, click "Favorite", select a new name for the build and click "Confirm". The scene should automatically change back to the Favorites tab and you should find the build you just saved in the list. On patch day, when the skills reset, so long as there are no API changes causing SuperStar not to load, you can login your character, open up the favorites tab, highlight the build you saved above, and select "Respec Skills".

  2. Similar to the above method, except instead of hitting "View Skills" on the Favorites tab, you click "View Favorite". This will load the data to the Import tab. Now click "Favorite" and do the same as above. This will also save your Attr/CP data with the build.
    NOTE: At this time, if you save this way the displayed skill points will be off, but a quick check leads me to believe it is just reporting it wrong most likely due to Auto Granted skills and the skill line changes I just made. If you save the build again from this version, you will see the number is corrected.

  3. Copy the hash code from the Import tab and save it in a text file if think you're going to lose your addon data.

To the best of my knowledge, it does. I did thorough tests of the feature a while back. We've had some new skill lines since then, but not much has changed. When people report issues, I fix them. Aside from the recent issue due to Excavation/Scrying being missing, which has been corrected, I have not heard of other issues, only feature requests.

I apologize that I cannot give you a better answer, but I do not play ESO; so unfortunately I do not have enough gold (whatever the currency was called) on my account to do respec testing. Feel free to try it, and if you find an error, let me know.

That is disappointing that you don't play ESO at the moment because I am not trying to take over and maintain this mod. I don't make builds and pvp or do trials and try to be a dps god. I am very much all about doing overland content and quests. I am busy enough as it is with Master Merchant which is more my speed and play style.

All I want to do is be courteous and ask permission before putting something on github publicly. I truly don't do more then just small little nitpick kinds of things.

I can understand the work that goes into a mod like this, especially looking up class and set ID information. You already know the table format and what is required. Someone with no experience wouldn't be able to do much more then make an API bump. Where even if you don't play you have at least enough knowledge to add the vampire or necromancer stuff. Someone else wouldn't know what to do.

So it truly isn't my intention to take up maintaining this mod. I just feel it is best practice to ask what I was asking. Thank you.
No worries man. I have no problem with you hosting yours.

So while I have not looked for a post from Ayantir or looked at all his description pages, there may be a post or something on a mods description page somewhere that gives permission for others to continue updating the addon. Aside from that since you have made changes I wanted to ask.

May I host a GitHub version of SuperStar and LibSkillsFactory with public visibility? I do not go around telling people to download it. It is mostly for my personal use but on very rare occasions a guild member will have issues and if I can't resolve them I just suggest they use my version since I have kept the author's license with it. They know I'm not the original author and it's just a slightly altered version that may work a bit better.

If granted the mods will contain Ayantir's typical blurb about the commons license that was used in most if not all the mods released by that author.
