DESCRIPTION
This addon includes many camera features to enhance the game experience.
Gain total control and enjoy all the world using the camera settings you want depending on what you do.
  • Control!
⋅ Add some useful bindings to control the camera: shoulder swap, center, …
  • Don't change!
⋅ Prevent the camera change that occurs on interactions: chatting, craft stations, style station, lockpicking, …
  • Dynamic!
*NEW* Camera can be configured to dynamically change when you're moving,
⋅ Replace the camera change for each interaction type with a custom one,
⋅ Configure your own camera change on “events”: mounting, stealth, combat, draw/sheath weapon, werewolf.
  • Enjoy!
⋅ For each interaction and event, you can choose to switch to first or third person, and modify the camera position, zoom and field of view.
⋅ Forget about the mouse wheel, focus on what you're doing!

LAST UPDATES

Warning: Spoiler

PREVIEWS

Warning: Spoiler

BINDINGS
  • Swap camera shoulder side,
  • Toggle camera in center position,
  • Swap / Toggle (If you prefer using only one keybind: 1 press to center, 2 to switch side),
  • All the above got 2 possible bindings: 1 for a smooth switch, and 1 for a fast instant switch,
  • Toggle siege camera.
  • Toggle distant camera.
  • Bindings for static cameras.
Warning: Spoiler

SETTINGS
  • Cross-characters settings
    ⋅⋅⋅
  • Camera preferred parameters: distance, field of view, and horizontal/vertical position. It overrides the regular camera settings.
    ⋅⋅⋅
  • 3 static cameras can be configured. Only works with keybindings.
    ⋅⋅⋅
  • Prevent any camera change on interactions : talking to NPCs, using craft stations, lockpicking, reading, siege.
That really is better for immersion not to change the camera on each interaction! You can't imagine.
For example, when you talk with someone, the camera won't focus on them.
(I recommand to allow the camera change for “Stations”, anyway, that's strange to craft without moving.)
  • Use your own camera settings when in interactions.
    ⋅⋅⋅
  • Automatically change any of your camera settings when "events" occur: chatting, mounting, in stealth, wielding weapons, in combat, in werewolf form.
  • *NEW* “On movement” event has been added, camera feels more dynamic that ever!
  • Preset can be picked between: None / Center camera on 3rd person / Switch to 1st person / Switch to 3rd person / Custom (Do what you want).
  • There are also some specific parameters for the events: use combat to trigger draw weapon, delay to restore for combat, keep minimal distance while in werewolf…
  • Option to prevent another camera change when on mount.
Warning: Spoiler

TO DO LIST
  • Add skills to trigger "draw" event,
  • Add a way to prevent camera change when opening menus,
  • Add priorities for camera events,
  • Get feedback from users Feel free to comment or ask for a new feature!
  • Think about other new features.

Hey Proxima,

Thanks a lot for your nice feedback !
Much appreciated.

---Movementcam: Horizontal Position 0, FOV 120
Even if you change either of those values, there will be some sort of camera shaking occuring, as long as you're not sprinting. I'm guessing this is because while you keep moving, the mod tries to shift back to Preferred camera all the time (so increasing/reducing/increasing/reducing either of those values while moving).
Yes, I guess you're right.
While sprinting, your movement "value" is a bit above the "maximum" value by design. So, the movement value is capped and used to calculate the camera offset to be applied.
While running (not sprinting), I guess the movement "value" oscillates a bit. So does the calculated camera offset value. There's already a filter, but I'll make some tests and try to improve it a bit.

I was wondering if there's an possibility to implement an option that disables the Movement camera In Combat? For now, it seems if you are moving and you initiate combat (say in a dungeon, where someone else pulls), the Combat camera will not kick in due to you moving and Movement camera having the upper hand. I'm not sure if there's a way to have some sort of Priority system implemented, so Movement camera does not override the Combat camera?
Yes, I think it is possible to implement. It will be a nice addition.
I'll try to think about a nice way to do it.
I've already added an option that does the opposite : preventing other events, when riding the horse.

This has probably been asked already but I don't suppose there's a way to speed up the camera movement either, right?
No, there's no way to speed up the camera movement (in my knowledge).
It's the default speed that occurs when you're messing with the camera values in the game settings.

Thanks again for this awesome mod, your work is really half of the fun I have in-game.

Proxima

Cheers,
N'Tak'

P.S. : Shaking effect should be removed now with version 2.5.2

There was an issue where the NTakDialog and NTakCamera were installing the same addon…
I suggest you to remove both of them and reinstall.
( There is no need to remove your settings )

Oh, woops. I missed that. I just checked it now and for me the camera does this weird bouncey thing, probably it keeps recalculating the modifier as the speed is not constant due to small bumps in the terrain. Especially noticable with FOV changes and walking, it's a bit trippy. Maybe throttling or debouncing could help with that?

Hey Howell,

I've already added it in 2.5…
For now, the "on movement" camera has only got 1 set of settings.
But the speed of the movement alter this set…
i.e. when running fast (pressing shift, in my case), I reach these camera settings, but only a portion of that when I'm running slowly or walking.

Cheers,
