AutoInvite  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.5.0
by: Sasky, Ayantir, silentgecko
Overview

Simple auto-invite addon - intended for use in Cyrodiil to quickly setup a group invite string without diving into menus. Since expanded to be a part of the group tab, but original slash commands still exist for quickly turning on and off.

Features
  • Slash commands to quickly enable or disable inviting, and regrouping
  • Stop sending invites when reach group limit
  • Change the group limit (when to stop invites)
  • Options panel as separate tab in group menu
  • Settings (except for actually running) are saved between loads
  • Option to only invite players in Cyrodiil (for guild invites)
  • Option to restart invite after someone leaves group
  • Option to auto-kick members after set amount of time offline
  • Button to re-form the group
  • Keybindings to reinvite or regroup the group

Localization
Translations have been provided by the following people
  • French - Provision
  • German - silentgecko
  • Japanese - Lionas
  • Russian - ForgottenLight

Usage
Open the group menu and there is a tab (far right) for AutoInvite settings. Set the invite string and any other settings then check enable. Now anyone who types that message (exactly) in chat will have an invite sent.

Alternatively you can use the slash commands to quickly start/stop and for when you want to start/stop without opening any menus.

Known Issues/Limitations
  • The regroup function doesn't work well through group leader bug.
  • Queue display is not in-order for position in queue.
  • No right click on the mini-group (for kick, travel to, etc).
  • Sometimes the mini-group list on the AutoInvite tab doesn't update properly. There is a button included to force an update if that's the case.

Slash commands
These are for very quick access or for debugging purposes.
  • /ai - Turn off AutoInvite. Emergency stop button of sorts
  • /ai foo - Set string to 'foo' and start inviting
  • /aidebug - Turn on debug logging to chat window. Note: this can be rather verbose.

Example
You're a raid leader and have some spots to fill.
  1. Type /ai xx in chat message to start listening for 'xx' message in chat
  2. Advertise yourself in chat ("Type xx for Bleakers raid group")
  3. Sit back and let the addon manage sending invites

It has never worked for me, and as a raid lead running ops in Cyrodiil, it would be incredibly handy to have.
OK, I think I found the bug.

- Are you using the UI panel to configure AutoInvite and using "TCO" in caps?
- Try using the slash command ("/ai TCO" in chat") or using lowercase "tco" through the UI panel.

That should work now. I'll get a fix out in the next couple of days

It's always been setup so that it converts everything to lowercase when it checks, so case doesn't matter. However, it looks like through the UI you can configure the string in uppercase, which means it'll never match. You can get around it by always entering the string in lower case or using the slash command.
Thank you! It is working perfectly now

Only thing I can think of that'd cause it to kick but not invite is if your group was larger than what you set the max to in the settings panel. Ex: you have 15 people in group, but it's set with a max group size of 12.

Besides that, I don't have enough info for why it isn't working for you. What string are you using? Are the invites with account names, character names, or a mix of both? Did it just stop working recently or have you never gotten it to work?

Additionally, the "/aidebug" slash command prints a lot more information to chat. Turning that on through a couple attempted invites then taking a screenshot could help get enough info.

Early on there were issues with this and a ZOS rename -- even back to the same name -- worked fine. Can you invite them fine with right-click? I can check again, but I don't think there are meaningful differences there.

It should work, but I know why it don't, and yes I can do that little change.

PS: Your friend should ask a rename throught a GuildMaster because he's an old player with a special character and cannot be grouped due to this. They do this for free.

first, could you add an option to marke the channels where ai is "listening" to evade "fail invites" from wrong chat???
will do.

second, could you add an auto-post option for advertise with costomisable text like "Type "xx" for invite" wich automaticly post the text every 1-10 min (costomisable on a slider) in the (in my first option) marked channels???
not doable.

and third, could you add an option to save multiple settings with names, the user can give them, in a list???
Multiple keywords ?
Why not.

would be really great if you would use some of my ideas (if that is possible) ;-)

In the most recent version (2.3.1), I'm seeing that line (autoinvitescene.lua:84) as commented out. What version are you using?
