Most Recent Update - v4.3.2: Tested and confirmed working with Greymoor; incremented ESO versioning to reflect (removes 'Out of Date' warning).
Latest Notable Update - v4.2.0 - Curses!: Resolved issue with occasional crashes when joke searches return empty, and removed some jokes that were too long for ESO chatbox. New "Creative Curses" added! Exasperated? Throw out a good-natured '/curse' (or '/curse Mark' because Mark deserves it!). Curses are meant to be more amusing than insulting, and are SFW - all curses are pulled from Elder Scrolls, Star Wars & Trek, LotR, other nerdy series, and vintage pop culture.

- /joker: Show Joker settings & help.

Plus, some other fun and/or helpful commands:
- /rl: It's /reloadui - but shorter. Cute! Added v2.0.0
- /roll: RNG dice roll. By default, rolls a die between 1 and 10 (everything including and between 1 and 10 is possible). Include a number to roll a die with that many sides (e.g. /roll 20 would roll a d20). You may optionally also include a prize/memo (supports item links) - which will also post the roll in chat for you (e.g. '/roll 20 Big Loot Item!'). This is useful for remembering the reason for a roll when doing many rolls. Added v2.3.0
- /choose: Similar to /roll, chooses randomly among given options (separated by space). You may instead use "/choose party" to randomly choose a winner from your party (up to 24 members) - with the option to assign a prize (only supports item links). Added v2.4.0

Cool Think The Folder Is Missing?

Hello! Just downloaded the Addon. Looks like the contents are all there but no folder to install to. I added a "Joker" folder in Documents for this Addon.

Thanks! Looking forward to using this!

Just pushed version 1.1.2, once approved it should resolve this issue for you. You're right - Minion was installing all of the files in the main Addon dir, instead of in the Joker subdirectory. It may take a short time for the update to become available on Minion.

Re: Error when /joke'ing

Heya, thanks for using Joker and for reporting this! Did this error occur after updating from a previous version, or with a fresh install? This shouldn't be happening on fresh installs, but it's possible some early Joker users might experience some weird bugs when being upgraded (if you haven't updated in a while, for example).

Also, make sure that if you've modified your random /joke pool via the Settings panel (meant for advanced users), the values you set in there need to be spelled and capitalized correctly (as shown in the Settings). Double check those values if you've changed any of that. FYI one of the next updates will include a much more user-friendly customization setup for the random pool (though the advanced settings will always be available for those that want them).

The problem was solved when I deleted the saved variable.
But I hadn't changed anything in the config.

Question Group Roll Tracking?

Hi there! I hope you're doing well.
My fiancee and I use the /roll all the time when we're out questing together. (To be fair about who gets chests, heavy sacks, etc.) We sit next to each other, so it's not hard to communicate what number we roll.
But... why does it always say "wins!" after the roll?
Is the addon supposed to be able to track rolls of other group members that also have the addon? Because it's not doing that, if that's the case.

Otherwise, thanks for such a handy feature.

Hey, glad you like it! It says 'wins' because some of the early feedback I got from some users was that they wanted to have item links included. This way, if you're doing multiple rolls, you can more readily keep track of what has already been rolled for. Just include an item link (or a memo/note if you prefer) after the roll parameters and the winning roll will include it.

There's also a slightly different twist - if you're just rolling to see who gets what, you can do /choose to choose randomly from among the included options ("/choose John Sam Kate"). Or, if you're in a party together, you could use "/choose party" to randomly choose from among your party or raid (supports up to 24 members). When using the 'party' format, you can also specify an itemlink or memo (so "/choose party free lunch" would result in something like "Partymember wins free lunch!"). Like /roll, it puts the result in your chatbox so you can easily send it out wherever you'd like (addons aren't allowed to post to chat for you).

I'm more than happy to make any changes/additions anyone wants, btw, though have a lot of stuff going on work-wise at the moment so it will be a few weeks before I push any more updates (unless something is broken).

Unhappy Error

After trying "/roll 100" and then linking an item after that, I got an error. (/roll 100 [item link]) It was a furnishing blueprint.
I like the way "/choose party" works. Although, it can be easily edited and fraudulent answers can be used.
I guess it's just too bad that rolls can't be seen by the entire group. Because even if "/roll" could be posted into the chat like "/choose" does, it can be changed/manipulated to be whatever the player wants it to be.

Weird, okay, thanks for reporting - I can get that fixed in the next day or two. Will respond here and PM you when an update is pushed that affects your situation

As far as group visibility - yeah, that would be ideal, and there are ways to rig it (similar to how some addons let you see ultimate cooldowns, etc for other people in party), but would (I believe) require a substantial amount of code. Definitely something I've had requested and am considering, but won't be for atleast a few weeks before I jump into that again (and there's another, sizable update I'll be shipping around that time first). In any case, it's enough of a task that it might be worth my separating it into another addon (or maybe not, some of the group functionality might still harmonize with Joker's other features).

Oh no, sorry about that! Will investigate tonight after I get off of work; I haven't made any changes in a while, so would assume ESO has made a change somewhere that busted the jokes :/

@Lakashi - Just updated to v3.0.0, which should resolve the crash you're referring to. I'm in the middle of a major architectural update for the addon, but released a little bit early so that your issues are hopefully fixed. Because the release was a bit early, I've had to temporarily disable customization options - but hope to have them re-enabled really soon (ideally, this weekend).

Note it may take some time for the update to show in Minion - it's presently pending approval.
