Discord Status Updater
Version: 0.3.6
by: Medallyonify [More]
If you're using Discord and want to display more than just "Playing Elder Scrolls Online", this Addon is for you.
By using this Addon, your status on Discord will change to display Rich Presence information, including information about your character, your current location, your party, and more!

This AddOn comes attached with an executable Client, which is necessary to update your status on Discord. It's the same as how Tamriel Trade Centre, for example, handles its data.

Here's a small guide to get the addon working:
  1. Install this addon
  2. Start Discord
  3. Start ESO
  4. Start the Addon Client, found in the Client folder that comes with the Addon
  5. (Optional) Configure the Addon by typing '/drp' into the in-game chat
  6. (Optional) Create a shortcut on your desktop for the Addon Client

The Addon Client might get flagged by your Anti-Virus program (Windows Defender, Malwarebytes, Avast, etc.). If that's the case, add the program to your exceptions. If you are wary of my program, I completely understand. If you would rather build your own client, visit the project repo and follow the steps there.

If you encounter any issues, please report them here or on the GitHub Repository. Feel free to fork the project and expand on it if you think you could improve or add to the Addon or the Client.

Also, if you're not already on our international Discord Server, you should join!

28-10-2019 (0.3.3) Added missing Group Arenas
28-10-2019: More info & better formatting

27-10-2019: Remove redundant logging (v0.3.1)
27-10-2019: Update Addon and description.

27-06-2018: Update page description to be fancier and more informative. EDIT: Update <code> to <quote>.
27-06-2018: Change ZIP name so that files are exported into the correct AddOn folder ('DiscordRichPresence' instead of 'DiscordRichPresence-v0.1.3'). Also, rename the AddOn page to make it shorter.

Exclamation LINK Steam to the Plugin

Good Day !
I have installed the cool Discord Rich Presence Plugin, and said it should start Eso for me.
But i have bought eso over Steam, so it should be launched over Steam... but it does not!
How to configure the Plugin to start Eso over Steam at Launch ??
Kind Regards
MrLegend

Accidental Misinstallation

Hey there!

When the addon worked for me, I loved it! However...

Long story short, the directory now believe that the folder for ESO is the ADDONS folder and not ESO itself, leading to the client confusing itself.

I know you have to delete the incorrect directory so it stops believing that, but...I have, and let it recreate a new live folder and new addons folder. It still reads incorrectly.

Any other way to fix this?

Thank you!

This is the step I was missing. First install put it in the wrong place, and i kept getting the error even after i re-installed it in the right place.

Thanks for that.

Hey there. first of all, thanks for trying this addon!

For 1., did you use the installer found on the GitHub page? If so, make sure that it installs the AddOn in the correct folder. By default, it installs it to "C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online", but you can change this path if your ESO Documents folder is somewhere else. In case you have installed the AddOn there and your ESO Documents folder is actually somewhere else, you'll need to delete that folder since the client will think that that's the correct AddOn location.

For 2., I noticed that Minion installs the AddOn with the ZIP name, which isn't what it's supposed to be (since the client will think the AddOn isn't installed). I've updated the filename to match the client, so you might want to try that again.

For 3., if you're reloading and the SavedVariables aren't appearing, then the AddOn probably isn't in the correct place. See 1. for help with this.

If you're still having trouble, you can contact me on Discord at "@Medallyon#5012" (with the '@').

Thanks for the kind words, Mortlach. I'll look into it

Keep at it, but add Mac support, too!
