BeamMeUp - Teleporter (Fast Travel) Beta-Channel  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.4.4_Beta01
by: Gamer1986PAN, @DeadSoon
This is the Beta-Channel of our Addon BeamMeUp. We will release most of the updates and beta versions in this channel before we update the final channel. You are invited to test new features and report any bugs if they exist.

We suggest you test the official release before to find differences between the versions.

This Addon allows you to use the fast travel functionality of the game in a comfortable and highly costumizable way. All fast travel options you have through your guilds, friends and group are listed in a clear way and are usable with different search and filtering features.

Features:
  • Search, Filter, Favorite, Customize
    • Sorted list of all fast travel options and much additional information
    • Search by player or zone names
    • Easily port to Group Leader or Group Members in Dungeons (always on top) and see if they are in the same game instance as you
    • Set specific players or zones as favorites and easily port to them via keybinding
    • Use the different tabs to find Fast Travel options to the open/displayed map (world map) and also to the Delves located there
    • Use filters and blacklists and many other options to customize your personal filtering (e. g. show only Overland maps or hide different types of zones)
    • Filter by only group, friends or guild members via the right click menu
    • Display only one entry for each zone or see all players you can travel to
    • Change the sorting and configure the number of entries (number of visible lines)

  • Navigate and optimize your journey by many additional information
    • Identify different types of zones by its icon (Delve, Dungeon, House, ...)
    • Easily navigate through the maps by clicking on the zone name
      • The corresponding map will be opened
      • Location/Entrance of Delves, Houses, ... will be marked with a Map Ping
      • With installed Skyshard Addon you can make faster decisions whether a Fast Travel is worthwhile
    • Use the house button to port to your primary residence

  • Connect Treasure and Survey Maps with found Travel Options
    • See where your Treasure and Survey maps (from inventory) are located and travel to them immediately with just one click
    • If no Fast Travel options are available for the item corresponding zones, you still can see where the maps are located
  • Connect Active Quests with found Travel Options
    • As with Treasure and Survey Maps, see in which zones you have active quests
    • Identify repeatable quests by its blue color

  • Unlock new Wayshrines automatically
    • Unlock unknown wayshrines in your current zone with just one click and only about ten seconds, depending on your Fast Travel options
    • You will see appearing the new wayshrines on the map and then you can use them without a need of riding to them or manual discovering

NEW FEATURES IN 1.4.4

Hey Guys,

it is time to push new features. We already received many requests for more sorting options. The up-coming version 1.4.4 will bring these sorting options and the first beta is already released.

As you can see and test on your own, 1.4.4 comes with several sorting options. We want you to participate in the early stages of development of this version by asking for your feedback

The following questions are of interest to us:

1. Can you find all sortings, that are relevant to you or do you miss a certain one? (Maybe we can add it to the list )

2. Which sorting do you personally prefer?

Here a short description of the sortings:
  • zone name
    • just sorted by the name of the zone (A -> Z)
  • zone category > zone name
    • sorted by the types of zones (Overland zones, Public Dungeons, Delves, without Category, 12 men Dungeons, 4 men Dungeons, Group Zones (Craglorn), Houses)
    • inside of the category it is sorted by the zone names (A -> Z)
  • frequently used > zone name
    • sorted by the zones you ported mostly (the counters are not visible)
    • zones with the same counters are sorted by the zone names (A -> Z)
  • frequently used > zone category > zone name
    • sorted by the zones you ported mostly (the counters are not visible)
    • zones with the same counters are sorted by the type of zone
    • if the zones have the same counter and same type, then it is sorted by the zone names (A -> Z)
  • number players > zone name
    • sorted by the number of players that are in the zone
    • zones with the same number of players are sorted by the zone name (A -> Z)
    • this sorting could be interesting in case of events and new zones

We are looking forward to your feedback

There is no problem in Japanese environment

As far as I tested, there is no problem with the operation in the Japanese version ESO for now.

It is nice to be even more convenient.

I hadn't reinstalled anything yesterday or today yet today when I start up the game I get no error with both addons on and I'm not really sure why. I haven't done anything different, I don't see any updates in the Minion log and I haven't updated anything manually, either. I restarted the game three times and each time your mod was on at the same time as the minimap mod it did that. I have no idea what happened but every time I start up the game now with the addons active at the same time it works perfectly normally.

I sincerely apologize about the apparently bad report. Everything I did yesterday indicated it was something your addon had done to the minimap addon as the error was only thrown when your addon was on at the same time as the minimap addon and your addon had been the only thing that had changed fairly recently at the time. Yesterday they both worked fine when one of them was off, your addon worked fine the entire time, yet whenever I turned your addon on with the minimap the minimap just freaked out and stopped displaying at all.

Thank you for looking into this and your time on it. I'm sorry for bothering you with what apparently was an isolated and temporary issue.

Glad it works for you again. Had some similar issues with other addons in the past as well. Don't mind if you report a possible bug to quickly.

Upon initial load of ESO:

stack traceback:

Your mod was the only one that I updated today and I last updated it two days ago with Beta 06, so the errors occured either in the Beta 07 or Beta 08 versions, I can't say for certain as I went from 06 directly to 08 in my update today.

Both errors are copy-pasted from the game's error window, upon disabling your mod the minimap mod functions properly and no errors are thrown out. I understand that you cannot support every single mod and that compatibility issues will arise, especially in beta-builds, that sort of thing is totally understandable and if this is something that cannot be rectified on your end for any particular reason I, again, understand.

I am simply bringing this to your attention as your most recent update is what is causing the error. I don't know anything about modding, so I have no idea if the above information is of any value to you at all. Thank you for your work on BMU and the beta version here and I definitely appreciate all of the time and effort you've put into this addon and its ever-increasing list of related features.
Hey symmas,

thanks for reporting your issue. In any case it is really helpful to know if there are any incompatibilities with other addons or any bug in our addon. So we are thankful for any report and of course, if it is possible to solve it on our site, we want to do so.

Now to your specific issue:
I couldn't reproduce this problem either. As Gamer1986PAN already suggested, try to reinstall both addons. Also disable BeamMeUp to see if the error really only occurs when you are running both addons together. Furthermore I see in the error log no indicators how our addon is involved in this issue.

Hopefully your problem solves itself.

Upon initial load of ESO:

user:/AddOns/MiniMap/MiniMap.lua:2365: operator < is not supported for number < nil
stack traceback:
user:/AddOns/MiniMap/MiniMap.lua:2365: in function 'FyrMM.MeasureDistance'

user:/AddOns/MiniMap/MiniMap.lua:5768: in function 'OnLoaded'
|caaaaaa<Locals> eventCode = 65536, addOnName = "MiniMap" </Locals>|r

Secondly, upon trying to access the Minimap addons menu:

user:/AddOns/MiniMap/MiniMap.lua:702: attempt to index a nil value
stack traceback:
user:/AddOns/MiniMap/MiniMap.lua:702: in function 'FyrMM.OpenSettingsPanel'
Fyr_MM_Settings_Clicked:2: in function '(main chunk)'
|caaaaaa<Locals> self = ud, button = 1, ctrl = false, alt = false, shift = false, command = false </Locals>|r

Thank you for your report, but i do use Minimap by Fyrakin as well (so you can be quite sure every update is well tested most of the time with Fyrakin) and i dont have any of those errors. Was it just once (if so it maybe just was a memory problem) or does these errors occurs all the time? If so please try to reinstall BeamMeUp and Minimap by Fyrakin maybe Minion messed some things up.

As you requested we added both features. Looking forward to your feedback.

Every quest will be displayed. But it will not ignore your black-listing settings. With the new Beta you should see Cyrodiil as an separate record (Quest names in its tooltip) anyway. Depending on your setting "Hide PVP zones" the records will be white with a wayshrine or drak red without a wayshrine.

Nevertheless we think about to hide the wayshrine button generally for zones you can definitively not port to.

Good news here, ZOS is going to restore that function. So the Group Rally Point is going to work again like it does with the current final version on live server.
Woot! by the way, the new beta is working great. I love the new lock button. I can position it and lock it while looking at the map now!

Some things I have noticed so far...

1. In the addons list in game it shows out of date.
2. The addon does not say "beta" on the addon list in game. Would be nice to see that I'm using the beta version. Same for folder name in the addons folder. I tried to install both versions and they went into the same folder.
3. In the settings "Show number of players" the comment is "....". I'm guessing you meant to go back to that later.
4. "Hide articles of zone names". Not sure what "articles" means and the popup comment doesn't explain to me either.
5. The interface does move easier and looks nicer. Could you add a lock icon on the window so you can lock it from moving?
6. Could we get the ability to add a couple more favorites? I can see 8 lines in the window so it would be great to have 8 favorites.
7. Toggle works great! I was able to port to the one person who was online from my guilds.

I really love the work you two are doing!
Thanks again for your helpful input Durnik!

1. This is because ZOS forgot to raise the API version number on PTS. This should be fixed automatically with the next PTS patch.

2. Thats correct. The only real difference between both is the version number (displayed in the settings). Running both at the same time should lead to problems. Also it takes some effort to handle two different Addons under development. Nevertheless I will discuss this with Gamer1986PAN, because I can understand you and it is of course a great idea to highlight, when the Beta is installed.

3. Yep, it's not finished yet. Versions with "Beta" in the end are mostly not yet fully translated (some texts are not finished). Watch out for "RC" in the end. This versions (Release Candidates) should be done otherwise it is a bug.

4. In this context "articles" means for example "the". In English the option makes not really a difference because the zone names in English rarely have an article for its name. In German and French it makes a big different, because many zone names begins with an article and by this they would get the same order when ordering alphabetically. Maybe you have a suggestion for a better explanation in the tooltip? (or maybe just add an example?)

5. This option is already available in the settings (Fix window). Nevertheless also Gamer1986PAN requested a lock symbol for a better feeling. This feature is already under construction

6. We think, that 5 favorites (5 players and 5 zones) should be enough to tag your personal favorites. On the other hand technically it should not be a big deal to increase the number of possible favorites. We will keep it in mind. By the way, you can change the number of lines up to 16 in the settings (first one).

7. Good to hear. Thanks for your support to improve our wonderful Addon

Re: Re: Re: UI Error

Hey Siegtime,

Happy new year

Could you please forward us your file LibZone.lua from the ESO SavedVAriables folder?
It wil lcontain teh Japanese zone names which I'd like to add to the official release of LibZone so other people benefit from it too!

See description here:

If you want to use slash commands with your ingame-location-names on your client we need this information. right now you can only use the english location commands like "/bmutp/deshaan" which means you need the names of every location in english client.
I restarted ESO, it improved. I was sorry to worry.
