VEQ is relatively new and is being maintained, last update was today, and it even is based on FCMQT but I still prefer FCMQT in a way, I like all my active quests displayed as a list, even if I like the mini quests feature VEQ has, the fact that you can only have one active quest displayed at a time is a deal breaker for me, maybe I'll give CQT a shot but I'd still like FCMQT to be fixed by someone eventually, hopefully.

All the best!

Yeah, the fact that VEQ only tracks the active Focused Quest and the active "mini quest" rather than giving a full quest list is a big deal breaker for me as well, but could work well for people with a more minimalist UI approach.

I have tried out CQT, and I only have 2 complaints... 1) the quest list has too much blank space padding between each quest, IMO, and 2) it doesn't group the quests into categories the way that FCMQT and RQT do. Similarly, I should note that my biggest complaint about RQT is that it doesn't list quest hints and additional info. That's a big issue for me personally, but probably wouldn't bother a lot of other people.

With respect to my first complaint for CQT, I was able to eliminate that issue by editing the CQuestTracker.xml file, line 70, and changing the value of "offsetY" from "12" down to "0". And with respect to the second issue, that's not a deal breaker for me.

For the time being, therefore, I'll be using CQT.

Personally, though, I'd love to see someone who knows how to work with addon GUI components come along and fix FCMQT. It seems to be a problem with using a resizing aspect of the API that no longer is in use with the latest version of the API, resulting in the entire tracker being compressed into a single line because the resizing info is being ignored. But while I can somewhat tell what the issue is, I don't have the knowledge or skill to correct it myself (I haven't been a heavy LUA scripter in over a decade, and never worked with the ESO API). (I tried simply commenting out the offending lines in the LUA script, but although that prevented the parse error it also triggered more problems while failing to fix the display of FCMQT, so that's never going to work as a general approach to fixing this... not that such a change is normally a good practice anyway, but I was curious if it would work... it doesn't).

Anyway...

Good luck everyone

The author hasn't been active on the site since last August, and was never very active prior to that.

I recommend trying out one of the other quest tracker options, such as Ravalox' Quest Tracker or Calamath's Quest Tracker (I have used RQT in the past and liked it, though not as much as FCMQT, so you may find it lacking, depending on what you're looking for. I have not personally tried CQT yet. I like the listed features for CQT and plan to try it out today, but I cannot offer any insight about it right now).

RQT was last updated this past October (which puts it 2 years more up to date than FCMQT. CQT was last updated this past January, so it is the most up-to-date of the three.

Anyway, try them out and see if they work for you.

Good Luck,

Thank you for providing an update to this much needed addon. I have a question and a request (if you are open to those)

Is your file standalone (the full addon), or it is more an update that installs overtop of the original addon?

One of the features that used to work for me was having my focused quest (and others in the same zone) always appear first, and be the only quests expanded/visible while keeping the other zones visible but collapsed. I switched over to RQT when this feature stopped working and I was hopeful it returns with your updates... as I much prefer this addon by far.

I think what I'm looking for was achieved by the following settings:
Zone Quests Settings:
- Enable Auto Hide Zone => ON
- Show Quests in current Zone only => OFF
Quests Settings:
- Sort Quest By... => Zone+Name

However, it seems the "Displayed Quests" slider option is overriding the "Enable Auto Hide Zone" behaviour... having the addon just open "X" quests starting from the top of the list instead of taking the focused quest (and its zone) into account.

I can partially work around the issue by adjusting "Sort Quest By... => Focused+Zone+Name". This will move the focused zone/quest to the top of the list so it is included in the "Displayed Quests" count listing from the "top"... but next zones are also opened in the quest list until the "Displayed Quests" counter is reached.

Is there a way to adjust the logic so that the "Displayed Quests" option is subordinate to the "Zone Quests Settings" I listed above? That once the list is focused to the quest/zone that the "Displayed Quests" slider just limits how many of that zone's (or other's preferred setting choices) are shown within the set scope?

Or maybe... just maybe... there is another setting I'm failing to see/use that would make this happen? Just a simple tweak on my end would be awesome if that's the case!
