warnings are not shown on all dungeon bosses.

and sometimes the warning is shown on a boss, but only once or twice.

it is only being updated as part of LUI Extended

they call it "Combat Text" in the feature list:

"Combat Text - Now featuring the Combat Cloud scrolling combat text addon with enhancements. Display your outgoing and incoming damage/healing, track crowd control, track incoming damaging abilities with a new warning system, and monitor your resource gain."

I've disabled it, due to the error I get everytime the UI loads, and am holding off on uninstalling it in hopes that it will be updated.

However the Updated date below the download link doesn't give me much hope: "10/05/16 09:41 PM"

Please update! I used to love this addon but now it's useless and even disruptive. I haven't uninstalled yet, in the hope that you'll update it, but it has to be disabled, otherwise it will display error ui when in combat and this has gotten me dead a few times.

Weird: without any modification, XP gains and most of heals (say 95%) now show!

LUIE has a "Scroll" Animation setting. I recently decided to start the switch to LUIE. After I changed the text settings, animation settings, and moved the incoming and outgoing windows more toward screen center, it is functioning close enough to Combat Cloud for me. I have all the other LUIE modules disabled at the moment.

It looks like that event is deprecated and is no longer in Elsweyr.

To fix the addon replace line 10 of Resources_Ultimate.lua
Lua Code:
  1. obj:RegisterForEvent(EVENT_ACTION_SLOT_ABILITY_SLOTTED, function() self:UpdateMaximum() end)

with

Lua Code:
  1. obj:RegisterForEvent(EVENT_ACTION_SLOT_ABILITY_USED, function() self:UpdateMaximum() end)

Alternatively you can just remove that line in general and the addon will just update your ultimate status when you barswap because of

If anyone is looking for an updated and working Combat Cloud, I implemented and expanded it in LUIE quite a while back.

If you're not interested in the other features of LUIE its modular so you can disable everything but Combat Text.

Thanks for the effort put in Mouko. I haven't been on yet to try it.

I think the reason people enjoy this add-on so much is because it uses a quick 'up float' style for text during combat. Very few add-ons have used this style to convey information and the ones that have, implemented this exact add-on (Combat Cloud) into thier own user interface add-on suite with a host of other combat text styles (scrolling, pop-up, etc). The issue becomes that those add-on suites become very bloated and when you want just one piece of a 20mb add-on that may host dozens of other user interface aspects, to go along with your other add-ons, it can crate slowdowns or freeze-ups during load times, hitches during gameplay. Even without performance issues, surfing several suites to find exactly what your looking for is becoming a burden in itself.

Ultimately what needs to be done is something like Minion, which manages the download and updates of these add-ons, should strive be the host scripting executor and library dependency organizanizer as well. I get that authors want to have control of thier own scripts but as Minion 4 begins working to better support these updates with lib added, it's become more apparent.

Right now with Combat Cloud, someone needs to step in and continue just the compatibility updates as ESO goes through its own updates and like many unsupported add-ons, it's just a matter someone understanding it's importance, the scripting involved and offering thier own update.
