Are we there yet?  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.6.4
by: Mitaa [More]
AreWeThereYet calculates the date on which you will reach CP3600.

New in 0.6.0:

- Major bugfix: incompatible change in data storage, see change log for details
- User feedback: calculate subgoals (thanks to Falja for suggesting this)

New in 0.5.0:

- Support for the new Champion System

New in 0.4.0:

- XP/date calculator for any Champion Point between 10 and 810 (click on small Champion icon)

New in 0.3.0:

- History window with up to one month of data (click on large Champion icon)

New in 0.2.0:

- Window with keybinding (default none) and slash command (/arewethereyet)
- Additional information, e.g. XP needed and decrease in CP gain
- Chat messages have been discontinued

Information displayed:

Champion Points earned
Champion Points left
Champion Points earned today
Average CP in the last period, up to one month
Minimum Champion Points
Maximum Champion Points
Minimum XP needed
Maximum XP needed
XP needed for next Champion Point
Cumulative decrease in CP gain
Maximum decrease in CP gain
Average future decrease in CP gain
Estimated end date
Time left in years, months, weeks and days

It should be noted that the projected end date will not be very reliable in the first week or so. Accuracy will improve over time.

Known issue: since the ESO client is a 32-bit application, it suffers from the "Year 2038 problem", see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2038_problem. Any dates affected by this issue will be listed as "unknown" (which is perfectly normal btw if the CP average is zero).

0.6.4

April 29, 2021.
100035 "Blackwood".

0.6.3

March 30, 2021.
Bugfix: only history records after March 28 were shown. From now on, DST (Daylight Saving Time) will be ignored. No data was lost, however the last two or three days will remain invisible.

0.6.2

March 19, 2021.
User feedback: multiple CP, earned at the same time, were counted as one (thanks to Daimonologos for reporting this).

0.6.1

March 17, 2021.
The stats displayed below the calculator keypads didn't make much sense after the last update so I changed them to something more useful.

0.6.0

March 15, 2021.
Major bugfix: sometimes data from the previous month was overwritten too soon. The only solution was to wipe the entire history and start over with a new data structure, so in the worst case you will lose one month of data. Sorry for the snafu, please don't kill me and please remember this is a beta addon.
User feedback: calculate subgoals (thanks to Falja for suggesting this).

0.5.0

March 8, 2021.
Support for the new Champion System.
Known issue: "Average future decrease in CP gain" is based on a mid-range average (min/max values).

0.4.6

February 27, 2021.
100034 "Flames of Ambition".
Some interim fixes so at least the calculation is done properly, just in case something goes south on March 8th.

0.4.5

November 2, 2020.
100033 "Markarth".

0.4.4

October 1, 2020.
Major bugfix: decrease in CP gain is no longer taken into account when calculating the end date. This has been wrong since day one. The only correct way is to use the (moving) average, nothing else. As a result, the projected end date will be more optimistic in the beginning. As CP gain slows down, it will be pushed further into the future, unless you manage to maintain your average.

0.4.3

September 25, 2020.
Added an indicator for each of the three constellations (when lit, you have unspent Champion Points).
Moved version number from main window to addon list.

0.4.2

September 21, 2020.
There are now two keypads on the calculator window, "CP" for Champion Points and "Avg" for daily average.

0.4.1

September 18, 2020.
Added enlightenment indicator to main window (five different colors, hover mouse to see pool size).
Minor bug fixes.

0.4.0

September 12, 2020.
XP/date calculator for any Champion Point between 10 and 810.
Thousands separator.

0.3.0

September 1, 2020.
History window with up to one month of data.
Bugfix: calculation errors when used below level 50/CP10.

0.2.4

August 21, 2020.
100032 "Stonethorn".

0.2.3

August 15, 2020.
Cosmetic bugfix: CP average formatting (two decimal places, no trailing zeroes).

0.2.2

July 27, 2020.
Bugfix: trailing zeroes not always removed from CP average.
Forgot to increase internal version number (for display purposes) so now it will jump from 0.2.0 to 0.2.2.

0.2.1

July 7, 2020.
Accidentally zipped my repo (hidden folder) along with the addon.

0.2.0

July 7, 2020.
Window with keybinding (default none) and slash command (/arewethereyet).
Additional information, e.g. XP needed and decrease in CP gain.
Chat messages have been discontinued.

0.1.1

June 23, 2020.
Bugfix: cleanup of missing days (not played or no CP earned) would set the previous day to zero.

0.1.0

June 21, 2020.
Initial version.

  1. This is an international site, there are users from all around the world, so to suggest you know where someone is or is not is a wild stretch;
  2. It doesn't matter where the site is based. You are, I am gathering, making the assumption that it is based in the US and are trying to claim some sort of First Amendment protection. Well, allow this Canadian to educate you on the US First Amendment: The US First Amendment protects citizens from having their voices silenced by the government. A private business can absolutely state that certain behaviours won't be allowed in their space;
  3. One of our site rules is that you post with courtesy and respect. You aren't doing that. Consider this your final warning.

That was MY mistake and I apologize for it and promise that it will NEVER happen again.

a difference from 2 YEARS ago between a calculated XP-Date and YOUR calculated CP-Date To name 'a little closer' is denying reality.
But it is your decision to fool the users of your addon with your calculated data.
Your calculated enddate is like an Carrot tied on a rope ,tied on a stik on o donkey...you know what im mean..unreachable

And that's the last thing i have to say about this (CURENTLY) useless addon!
Have a good luck with this.addOn and have fun with the questions that disappointing users ask
Would love to see too to see the progress with Xp-Calculation as base

You will see that the calculated XPDate is far away from the calculated CPDate.

Instead of changing my code without discussion (and bluntly reversing my earlier decision), you could have just reported a bug. Or at least read the change log. If you had, you would have known that the feature has always existed but was removed in October last year. After 3 months of testing I realized that I forgot the human factor. I made the assumption that every single user would spend the exact same amount of time leveling every single day during the entire period. Instead, I noticed that I was working harder and harder, maintaining my original average. Long story short, it can never be predicted accurately because no one can predict the future. It can be estimated, and ignoring the decrease in CP gain is probably a little closer to the truth. Or not. Actually, it's irrelevant because I have no intention to reconsider a decision I made months ago.

Btw I am sure there was no malicious intent but posting someone else's code (or a derivative) in a public space without permission of the copyright holder is not allowed. So yes the link was removed on my request.

Would love to see the percentage progress in XP to 3600. With the increasing xp for each cp this seems more intuitive than cp levels

Re: Re: Calculation with CP

I've tried the version from the link that is now removed. Even if the CP date sounds nicer, the XP date is unfortunately closer to reality.
(Sorry 4 my bad english)

BTW:
Discovered another bug. Calculating the CP-Average with the number of entries in the CP-Table is simple but wrong.
Calculate the days with 'MaxCpDate - MinCpDate ' would be correct.
But it doesn't really matter because the entire result is misleading (useless in my opinion) and deviates significantly from the date that was calculated with XP.
Sometimes the difference are years.

TdB,

If you are wanting to share a copy of the addon that you have modified for personal use with the author in order to explain or demonstrate what you are trying to discuss with them, please do so via Private Message. We don't allow links to offsite downloads as we can't properly vet them to be sure they are safe.

What are these #s tracking?
1 = Slowdown in leveling (increase in XP needed) since CP10
Ex: 500% = next CP needs 6 times more XP than CP10

2 = Same but for CP3600; this will always be the same percentage
Ex: 3494% = to get from 3599 to 3600, you will need almost 36 times the amount of XP compared to CP10

3 = How much slower you will level from your current CP up to CP3600
Ex: 200% = on average you will need 3 times more XP than you do now; for your final CP you will need 400% aka 5 times more XP than you do now

Thanks for reporting this. Never expected multiple CP in one go. Problem fixed, updated addon is pending but should be released in the next hour(s). I only tested one CP but it will work for any number of points.

OK no problem, although the implementation may not be perfect. My current "lifestyle" only permits simple changes, so what I could do is change the left calculator keypad to 3600. You can set your sub goal by lowering that number. It will not be persistent so you will have to recalculate every once in a while, but it does the job.

I can probably add this to 0.6.0, due for next Monday.
Works fine, thanks a lot!
