Grindspot Locations (GPL)

DISCONTINUED

Share your grind spots and discover new ones!

GrindSpot Locations (GPL) is a collaborative map add-on for the Elder Scrolls Online that lets you tag, move, remove, and rate grindspot locations all across Tamriel.

There is a server-side part to the project where you can upload your data so it becomes visible to all other users. Download the latest map to be able to discover and interact with other user's nodes.

Direct download http://www.turtlespeak.net/eso/gpl/download

Data upload http://www.turtlespeak.net/eso/gpl/upload

Installing a downloaded map

To install the most recent map, click the link above (direct download) and save the map.lua file inside the addon folder (under GPL/Include) to overwrite the older one.

Functionnality

Adding a node :
/gpl add : This will add a grindspot map pin to your current location.

Rating a node :
/gpl rate [1-5] : Rates the current active grindspot quality from 1 to 5.

Setting a node's lvl :
/gpl lvl [1-50] : Gives the current active node a level from 1 to 50.

Moving a node :
/gpl movehere : Current active node will be moved to your current location.

Delete a node :
/gpl dismiss : Deletes current active node.

The maximum interaction radius for nodes is set to 50 meters. Closest node will automatically be set active and show as a white pin instead of a black pin on your map.

Functionnality on other users nodes

You can use all the commands on other people's nodes too. The commands will then generate a local database entry in your saved variables that you have to upload to my website so it can be taken care with and added to the global map.

Complete interface

/gpl add : Adds a grind spot at your current location.
/gpl dismiss : Dismisses current active grindspot.
/gpl rate [x] : Rates the currect active grindspot. Rate values can be either 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.
/gpl movehere : Moves current active grinspot to your location.
/gpl lvl [x] or [x x] : Lets you specify a lvl range for the current active grindspot. Using [x] lets you specify the average lvl you think matches the grindspot, and [x x] lets you specify a lvl range. Alternatively you can use '/gpl lvl' without arguments to set your current lvl to the node.
/gpl report [message] : Sends a report about current active grindspot or a general comment about the tool.

Credits go to Garkin for his help on the custom Map Pins. Thank you !

My website is down due to financial issues and I don't plan updating this addon anymore.

Maybe you can find a dev to continue support & host the server-side part tho.

Exclamation Data File

Could anyone reupload the most up-to-date data file somewhere else, like Dropbox? The official website for downloading it seems dead and I'd really want to test this addon out in the field. The addon seems to "work", I mean, there's nothing to be seen there because I have no data at all, but it hasn't triggered LUA errors and it seems to work fine with the rest of my addons. So the addon, even though outdated, probably still works fine on the last update (Dark Brotherhood).

Question Still alive?

The website for downloading the data seems down and the last comments were from 2015... I'm just wondering where it's still supported or not, and if the data is up-to-date.

The addon had a few divide-by-zero errors. I cannot update the official version, but you can download a fixed gpl.lua HERE.

The full problem:
The code calculates an average rating for any downloaded grindspot. It is determined by rating/rating_count. However, in the current downloaded map.lua, a number of the rating_counts are 0. Resulting in divide-by-zero errors. I just added code to check for rating_count 0 and skip the divide.

Nope, regular XP. The best you XP you can make is find a crowded mob area and AOE nuke them repeatedly Well at least it's how it was done when I was playing the game 2 months ago.

You don't understand what the addon is for. It's for XP spots, not tradeskill materials spots.
