Mass Deconstructor  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 4.0a
by: ahmetertem, MaralieRindu
NOTE: Currently slightly broken. Mass Deconstruct and Mass Refine buttons sometimes do not appear when interacting with crafting stations. Please enable the "list items before starting work" option, this appears to add enough time delay that the crafting station UI can load so MD can successfully add the buttons to the crafting station UI. A fix is coming.

MassDeconstructor deconstructs items based on your filter settings. These filters are:
If you're not using item saver addons please be carefull and check add-on options. It's also worth getting into the habit of locking items you want to keep! Mass Deconstructor's default options:
  • Deconstruct items in bank: off
  • Deconstruct bound items: off
  • Deconstruct ornate items: off
  • Deconstruct set pieces: off
  • Deconstruct intricate items: off
  • Deconstruct crafted items: off
  • Maximum item quality to deconstruct: 4 (Epic/Purple)

I have a lead on the "buttons don't show" problem. You can follow along with GitHub Issue 33.

Outstanding issues that I intend to work on Real Soon Now™.

It is a minor glitch (or safeguard?) you can workaround - I had the same problem and found that if you just select "list items before starting work" from the option menu, the interface appears - *even if you have no qualifying items* - i.e. you can set every other option to off and the interface will display. Worked fine for me once I turned that one option on .
What a bizarre problem. I'll have a look and see what's going on that "list" does differently. I wonder if there's a new message I have to look for.

I confirm. That crap happens (sometimes, it's good, at times, it's not). Well, anyway, it's not controllable.
It refines all possible dust, whether it's in the bag, craftbag or bank....
Hope This issue will be fixed (or option added to do so or not to) in the future
The addon is great!!
Thanks, Author!

Hi, is this add-on updated anymore? It stopped working a couple of days before the latest update (update 21).

EDIT: nevermind, I didn't realize latest posts are shown first and I now saw the recent messages. I hope it gets fixed soon, hard to live without this not that I'm used to it. Also, I'll try the workaround meanwhile.

Works great. Thanks. That should work until the addon gets patched though I think I kinda like that feature and may keep it on. Hadn't tried it before.

Yes, mass refine only uses the crafting bag at the moment. I plan to include the backpack later.

Mass Deconstruct will only deconstruct stuff that matches its own rules, or stuff that is marked by FCO Item Saver for deconstruction (and only for deconstruction). Any other FCOIS marks cause items to be ignored, this is by design to prevent you accidentally deconstructing a bunch of stuff you actually want to keep (eg: for a new character that is learning that craft). The assumption is that if you mark something using FCOIS you will want that item for some other purpose.

The options for right now are to configure FCOIS to not mark intricate items, or deconstruct intricate manually.

I will look at adding an option to ignore certain FCOIS flags, but that's going to require me to sit down and code for a day. So maybe this weekend if I get time.

Seems to be the answer. Here:

Heya, sorry I've been so inattentive. If you turn on debugging (Settings > AddOns > Deconstuctor > Debug) and then go to a workstation and use Mass Refine, there should be some information there.

Do you have items to refine in the craft bag? Right now mass refine only works with the craft bag. I guess I need to get my butt into gear and finish writing that feature

When deconstructing jewelry (that is clicking on "mass deconstruct") mass deconstructor will regularly try to refine some jewelry dust for some weird reason; note: I am not clicking on "Mass refine", only on "mass deconstruct". Then it will get stuck and you have to manually remove the jewelry mats and click on "mass deconstruct" again, and then when it happens again shortly thereafter you again have to manually remove the dust mats and reclick "mass deconstruct" etc. I cant understand why this happens though; the other crafts, blacksmithing, woodworking and clothing works fine with mass deconstruct, only jewelry deconstruct have this issue.
