Linux Tamriel Trade Center  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: v2.3
by: APH0N1C, dbojan
Tamriel Trade Center for Linux without the need to setup and run TTC "Client.exe" on "Wine/Proton/Javascript" to update price list.

A simple bash script to update your TTC Listings Data.

I created this in case you have no luck on running the TTC Client on Proton/Wine/Lutris and their other WINE related programs as well as doing additional work like trying it on a Virtual Machine etc... so I instead created this simple script to do the work for me in the background.

This script utilize built-in system tools aside from needing the TTC add-on itself. the only thing you need to do is download the script make it executable and run it via terminal.

[This script should theoretically also work on Steamdeck as long as their version of Linux isn't too stripped down and can still run bash commands]

Dependencies:
Tamriel Trade Centre

Optional Versions

Single Use Scripts
TTC-O PORTPROTON
TTC-O LINUX NATIVE STEAM

Looping Scripts
TTC-LO PORTPROTON
TTC-LO LINUX NATIVE STEAM

INSTALLATION & USAGE: download the latest script of your choice and put it anywhere. then to run the script. "cd" to the script directory ex. cd ~/Downloads and do "chmod u+x script.sh" ex. chmod u+x TTCO-LINUX-STEAM-V2.sh to make it executable and "bash ./script.sh" ex. bash ./TTCO-LINUX-STEAM-V2.sh to run it.

NOTE: for now I only created 2 sub versions for "Linux Steam" and "PortProton".

NOTE: the script is a bash script and was only tested on POP!_OS 21.04/Ubuntu 21.04/Fedora 35 Silverblue. it might work on other Distro's as long as the "Terminal/Console" supports running Bash scripts.

NOTE: for now the script only updates the "PC NA" PriceTable. feel free to edit the link inside the script according to your server.

PriceTable Download Links
EU - https://eu.tamrieltradecentre.com/download/PriceTable
US - https://us.tamrieltradecentre.com/download/PriceTable

Code:
printf '\n'
sleep 1
curl -o ~/Downloads/PriceTable.zip 'https://us.tamrieltradecentre.com/download/PriceTable'
sleep 1

Re: Windows thinks the new Client.exe is a threat

Hello, Thanks for taking interest. as far as I can remember I did not include any "*.exe" on all of my releases. it might be false positive but be sure to download Tamriel Trade Centre on this site "esoui.com". and check with the addon author for news regarding this issue thank you

Re: Asking Permission.

Sure, here is an updated version that checks if folder 'AddOns\TamrielTradeCentre' exists first.
Sorry for not replying sooner, just saw the post.
Thx

Code:
@echo off
rem 2023-08-25-1

if not exist "AddOns/TamrielTradeCentre" echo Folder "AddOns\TamrielTradeCentre" does not exist in "%~dp0"! Program stopped! & pause & exit

if exist pricetable.zip del pricetable.zip
echo downloading pricetable ...
powershell -command "Invoke-WebRequest -URI https://eu.tamrieltradecentre.com/download/PriceTable -OutFile pricetable.zip"

if NOT exist pricetable.zip (
echo pricetable not found!

) else (

echo making backup ...

tar -v -a -c -f AddOns\TamrielTradeCentre\backup.zip AddOns\TamrielTradeCentre\*.lua
del AddOns\TamrielTradeCentre\ItemLookUpTable_*.lua
del AddOns\TamrielTradeCentre\PriceTable*.lua

rem ren AddOns\TamrielTradeCentre\ItemLookUpTable_*.lua ItemLookUpTable_*.bak
rem ren AddOns\TamrielTradeCentre\PriceTable*.lua PriceTable*.bak

echo done.

echo unzipping ...
powershell -command "Expand-Archive pricetable.zip AddOns\TamrielTradeCentre"
echo done.

echo cleaning ...

)

echo program completed.

feel free to use the "Single-use-scripts" if ssd dying is concern. (which is why I made them in the first place.)

as there are different swap systems like zram or just the regular swap mount and even users customizing/changing the location of their swap/zram I chose to not use them. I opted to using a directory thats similar to any other distro to save myself from complicating the code and to do testing on all the of the other distro's because of different tmp locations.

however you can edit the download location to tmpfs as per your suggestion.

look for the Lines # 49, 58, 60, 71, 73, 84,
usually starts with the words "~/Downloads..." "~/Downloads/PriceTable" "~/Downloads/PriceTable.zip"

I do not use "wget" and opted for "curl" since not all the distro's I tested have "wget" command built-in. users will have to install them manually for the script to work.

feel free to increase the timer if you want the script to not loop within 5 mins (increase it however much you think is the best for you.)
look for the Lines # 101, 102, 103

Code:

 hour=0
 min=5
 sec=0
and lastly if you don't think like doing all those things I mentioned above feel free to upload a full working version for EU and NA of the code you proposed as optional download, or send me the working code and I'll upload it myself here and credit you.

Point is, /tmp can be mounted as tmpfs, which resides in RAM and does not kill SSD by writing files each 5 mins.

Proposed change, better as for my taste (run with 1st parameter eu or us, change addon folder what you have):
Code:

fi

echo "Requested server: $SERVER"

rm -rf $DIR
mkdir -p $DIR
wget https://$SERVER.tamrieltradecentre.com/download/PriceTable -O $ZIP
unzip -o $ZIP -d $EXTRACTED

rm $ZIP

for i in $EXTRACTED/*.lua; do

Re: Siroriaa Siroria Noo

I'm not sure what the question is.

if you're asking if "Siroriaa Siroria Noo" is a valid name then it probably is.
if you're asking if "Siroriaa Siroria Noo" is a valid guild trader location, if you can't find it then it probably isn't a valid location
if you're asking where "Siroria" is located it's a boss name located in Cloudrest. they drop the "Siroria" Set which is not tradable in guild stores but can be traded with groupmates you did the trial with, within a specified amount of time, after that it wont be tradable anymore.

in anyways. this script doesn't modify data being received from the TTC "Tamriel Trade Centre" addon.
what it only does is receive data from TTC website and places those data to proper locations so eso on your linux machine can read it depending on the version of Wine/Proton you are currently using (all automated). [This script should theoretically also work on steamdeck as long as their version of linux isn't too stripped down and can still run bash commands]

all in all. you might wanna try asking this question on TTC forums/addon questions page. as to why you see weird location names. (which I do see them from time to time, sometimes there isn't even a location but there is a guild trader name)

Re: Issue in script actually prevents pricetable updates

Thanks for reporting, it seems that I forgot to remove those lines while I was testing the script.
I have released an update regarding this issue.

This was actually the method I was doing before I realized I could just automate the process.

Thanks for sharing this info tho, I've added some details regarding this on the descriptions page.

Could you please provide the code in plain text so we are able to see what it does, thank you.
Your github e.g. provides this lines, which look like these are the lines to use here:

So what is all the ther overhead of ~3,99mb then? Only caused by the obfuscated lines?
imho, and without wanting to be respectless, you should release it unobfuscated then for the majority
Hey thanks for taking interest and for the feedback.

First of all I'm a huge fan of your "Add-on Selector" add-on

anyways regarding the size. yes it's because of not just the obfuscation of the code but due to me adding minimal encryption on it (which is causing the overhead). I first created the code for myself but then started sharing it with friends and soon other people and I decided to take the action of obfuscating the code. I will be uploading the raw file script's here on ESOUI and on Github for inspection as well as giving details on how the code works. sorry for the inconvenience and probably the suspicion of the script being malicious.

the Github example I provided was the first version of the script, but since I find it not working 100% of the time I changed some of the code.

Anyways I'll be preparing the Raw scripts for upload soon. cheers!
