LibAddonMenu  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.0 r30
by: sirinsidiator, Seerah
LibAddonMenu is a library which offers many functions for add-on authors to simplify creating a configuration panel in the game's settings menu.

Users:

If the game cannot load some addon because it is missing LibAddonMenu-2.0 as a dependency, simply download and install it like you would any other addon. In case it shows as "out of date" in the game, simply enable the "allow out of date addons" checkbox.

Developers:

Ever since I (sirinsidiator) have taken over development of LAM-2.0 in 2015, the project is available on github and open for contributions by other authors.

With the ongoing effort to get rid of LibStub in favour of the library management capabilities provided by the game itself since Summerset was released, it is no longer recommended to embed LAM, or use LibStub to access it. Instead it should simply be specified as a dependency and accessed via the new LibAddonMenu2 global variable. Instead of providing it as part of another add-on, users should install and update it separately.

Quickstart:
Simply add LAM2 as a dependency in your addon manifest:
Code:
## DependsOn: LibAddonMenu-2.0
Optionally you can require a specific minimum version of LAM in case you rely on some features that are not available in earlier versions.
Code:
## DependsOn: LibAddonMenu-2.0>=30
In your code you can simply access the library via the global variable "LibAddonMenu2" and start creating your settings panel and controls:

Lua Code:
  1. local LAM = LibAddonMenu2
  2. local saveData = {} -- TODO this should be a reference to your actual saved variables table
  3. local panelName = "MyAddOnSettingsPanel" -- TODO the name will be used to create a global variable, pick something unique or you may overwrite an existing variable!
  4.
  5. local panelData = {
  6.     type = "panel",
  7.     name = "MyAddOn Settings",
  8.     author = "me",
  9. }
  10. local panel = LAM:RegisterAddonPanel(panelName, panelData)
  11. local optionsData = {
  12.     {
  13.         type = "checkbox",
  14.         name = "My First Checkbox",
  15.         getFunc = function() return saveData.myValue end,
  16.         setFunc = function(value) saveData.myValue = value end
  17.     }
  18. }
  19. LAM:RegisterOptionControls(panelName, optionsData)

For more examples and information you can take a look at exampleoptions.lua, AwesomeGuildStore/Settings.lua, the LAM wiki or the source code. Each control has a full list of available properties in the comment at the start of the lua file.

Features:
  • Controls - LAM offers different control types to build elaborate settings menus
  • Reset to Default - LAM can restore the settings to their default state with one key press
  • Additional AddOn Info - Add a version label and URLs for website, donations, translations or feedback
  • AddOn Search - Can't find the settings for your AddOn between the other hundred entries? No problem! Simply use the text search to quickly find what you are looking for
  • Slash Commands - Provides a shortcut to open your settings menu from chat
  • Tooltips - In case you need more space to explain what a control does, simply use a tooltip
  • Warnings - If your setting causes some unexpected behaviour, you can simply slap a warning on them
  • Dangerous Buttons - when flagged as such, a button will have red text and ask for confirmation before it runs any action
  • Required UI Reload - For cases where settings have to reload the UI or should be stored to disk right away, LAM offers a user friendly way to ask for a UI reload.
  • Support for all 4 official languages and 6 custom localisation projects

Try to delete the whole AwesomeGuildStore folder and install it freshly and make sure you have the latest version of all the dependencies listed in its description installed.
Ah, sorry, you are so right. I just deleted the LibAddonMenu from the lib folder in the AwesomeGuildStore - and everything worked as it should, all addons work now. Apparently, before today update everything worked with it, but today it stopped. Thank you very much for help. I really appreciate your work.

I figured out how to make it comfortable and not take up so much space. Errors are arranged from top to bottom in the order they occur.

No, its no in AGS only, because exactly the same errors occur in RuESO and Tamriel Trade Centre addons (I dont post screenshots from it, because its same and not carries new important information). And AGS wasn’t updated at all, it remained the same as it was before today's ESO update, updated only libs (and only libs that been updated from march 2 to today - LibCustomTitles and LibRunebox). Maybe I must post screens of all errors, for better promlem understanding? Just there will be so many.

I think, maybe the update of the LibAddonMenu is need.

That's simply how the game acts when a crash happens. It does not store the saved variables in that case. It's the same for all addons and libraries.

There is no difference between LibStub 5 and 6. The version number was only changed because of the standalone package, which LAM doesn't use. In the next LAM update I will remove the embedded LibStub completely.
Hossa

Got any feedback on this one? When do you think will LibStub be removed?
I'm considering it for the next update, but with all the chat chaos it's kind of low priority right now.
Thanks for the feedback and keep up the good work.

This can't be right or not the problem so far, otherwise Minion must be bugged what I am not believing in because this tool did even install or updating to the latest versions. There is no outdated Version of any add-ons on the whole system (100% fresh wiped a few days ago and the add-ons folder is on the C: drive) and the Error Code for Bandit was just one of many examples. I did test this with a bunch of add-ons in single use and I always got the same Code for each one.

(not expandet but basicly its the same) Code:
  1. bad argument #1 to 'ipairs' (table/struct expected, got nil)
  2. stack traceback:
  3. [C]: in function 'ipairs'

LAM and any other libraries are installed as the latest versions. (I checked any single version now a couple of times is no missing update.) So I did reinstall the game another time, remove the add-ons folder again and did download and install the add-ons and libraries manually... and hey, I got exactly the same error code for each single add-on using LAM. The last try was installing ESO in my Notebook to make sure that it's no a Windows issue on my main system. And believe it or not I got the same error code... I have no idea what's going on here, but LAM is completely broken for me!
Ok in that case there are only 2 things left to do. First try to find all LibAddonMenu folders inside your addons and delete them. It's possible that a very old version is somewhere in there and interferes with the latest installation. If that still doesn't help, please zip up your addon folder and upload it somewhere so I can take a look myself.

  4. EsoUI/PregameAndIngame/ZO_Options/Keyboard/ZO_Options_Keyboard.lua:162: in function 'ZO_KeyboardOptions:PanelRequiresDeferredLoading'

Well, this can't be right because I have installed 2.0 r30 which is the latest version. I also did try installing without Minion, deleting all files and reinstalling the game to make sure that there is no problem with my client so far.

For example: If im using LAM + BanditUI expand Code:
  1. bad argument #1 to 'ipairs' (table/struct expected, got nil)
  2. stack traceback:
  3. [C]: in function 'ipairs'
  4. EsoUI/PregameAndIngame/ZO_Options/Keyboard/ZO_Options_Keyboard.lua:162: in function 'ZO_KeyboardOptions:PanelRequiresDeferredLoading'
  5. |caaaaaa<Locals> self = [table:1]{currentPanelId = 101, isGamepadOptions = F, currentPanel = 100}, panelId = 100 </Locals>|r
  6. EsoUI/PregameAndIngame/ZO_Options/Keyboard/ZO_Options_Keyboard.lua:146: in function 'ZO_KeyboardOptions:ChangePanels'
  7. |caaaaaa<Locals> self = [table:1], panelId = 100, panelName = "|c4B8BFEBandits|r UI", readyToShowPanel = T </Locals>|r
  8. user:/AddOns/BanditsUserInterface/lib/LibAddonMenu/LibAddonMenu-b.lua:857: in function 'panelData.callback'
  9. EsoUI/Common/ZO_GameMenu/ZO_GameMenu.lua:52: in function 'TreeEntryOnSelected'
  10. |caaaaaa<Locals> control = ud, data = [table:2]{name = "|c4B8BFEBandits|r UI", id = 100, categoryName = "Settings", longname = "|c4B8BFEBandits|r User Interfa..."}, selected = T, reselectingDuringRebuild = F </Locals>|r
  11. EsoUI/Libraries/ZO_Tree/ZO_Tree.lua:705: in function 'ZO_TreeNode:OnSelected'
  12. |caaaaaa<Locals> self = [table:3]{selected = F, selectSound = "Click_TreeSubcategory", childrenHeight = 0, open = F, openPercentage = 0, childSpacing = 8, childrenCurrentHeight = 0, childIndent = 30, enabled = T}, reselectingDuringRebuild = F </Locals>|r
  13. EsoUI/Libraries/ZO_Tree/ZO_Tree.lua:411: in function 'ZO_Tree:SelectNode'
  14. |caaaaaa<Locals> self = [table:4]{enabled = T, autoSelectChildOnNodeOpen = F, defaultIndent = 30, width = 285, defaultSpacing = 8, suspendAnimations = F, openAnimationDurationMS = 300, exclusive = T}, treeNode = [table:3], reselectingDuringRebuild = F, bringParentIntoView = F </Locals>|r
  15. EsoUI/Libraries/ZO_Tree/ZO_Tree.lua:888: in function 'ZO_TreeEntry_OnMouseUp'
  16. |caaaaaa<Locals> self = ud, upInside = T, NOT_REBUILDING = F, DONT_BRING_PARENT_INTO_VIEW = F </Locals>|r
  17. ZO_CollectionsBook_TopLevelCategoriesScrollChildZO_CollectionsBook_SubCategory1_MouseUp:3: in function '(main chunk)'
  18. |caaaaaa<Locals> self = ud, button = 1, upInside = T, ctrl = F, alt = F, shift = F, command = F </Locals>|r
And this happens to any add-on while using LAM-2.0 r30.
You are using an old version of BanditsUserInterface. Otherwise this line wouldn't show up in the error message:
user:/AddOns/BanditsUserInterface/lib/LibAddonMenu/LibAddonMenu-b.lua:857:
As I said. You need to make sure you have updated ALL your addons and libraries, then the error will go away as it has already been fixed.

I will have this with my own AddOn and also if i use BanditUI for example or others too wich needs LAM2.
This error only shows up when you do not have the latest version of LAM. Make sure you install it and update all your addons (BanditsUI no longer uses LAM afaik).
