Re: Re: Problem with U23 patch
Your fix is included in today's patch until I can get the time to look into it further.
Thank you!

cool addon. I noticed a bug if you mount and then immediatly dismount before the mount is done, then fast ride may be unable to remove the rapid maneuver skill again and it has to be done manually the old fashioned way.
I think perhaps this could remidied if Fast Ride waited a little bit longer after mounting before placing rapids on the bar. It seems it places rapids on the bar before the mounting process is done, so if something then interrupts the mounting before it is done rapids gets stuck on that slot and Fast Ride wont remove it no matter how many times you use rapids or how many times you dismount again. Another bug I noticed, which is not fatal, but slightly confusing is that if you change bar after casting rapids then when the rapids skill is about run out Fast Ride will put Rapids skill on the slot on the second bar. If you then change back to bar 1 the icon for rapids will now be on the skill slot, but in fact it's the original skill in that slot, just the icon graphics is for rapids. EDIT: actually this seems to also happen without dismounting, it seems triggered by simply changing to the other bar. Changing bar and back again will sometimes fix this, other times not, but eventually the icon will change back to the correct one. To avoid it seems necessary to either cast rapids before changing bar or to dismount before changing bar (so that Fast Ride will remove Rapids skill before you change the bar).

Feature request/suggestion: a global toggle to enable/disable fast ride. The current "toggle" is not an actual toggle, at least it's only a temporary toggle, but I'd like an actual global toggle that only press the key once to toggle it off then fast ride wont do anything, or if you toggle it on it just works like it is set up. So basically really an on/off global toggle.

Oddly, the last update that was supposed to fix rapids "sticking" has caused it to stick way more often -- including when no combat or anything else preventing the swap was involved.

Can you bind the Controls FastRide->Toggle Rapids-mode to a key? Then when Rapids sticks in the bar, does hitting the FastRide toggle key unload it? (Alternatively, you can type /fastride.key nin chat to toggle rapids-mode and see if the skill gets swapped.) |

Addon outdated / sticky skill
Hi Shadowfen,
I also experience the sticking of the skill. When I mount, charging manoeuvre appears on my skillbar as not activated. Which is normal. If mounted and engaged in battle when the charging manoeuvre is not activated, it sticks to the skillbar if I unmount and disappears from the skillbar when the battle is over. If mounted and engaged in battle when the charging manoeuvre is activated, it doesn't stick to the skillbar after I unmount. Hopefully this will shed a light on the problem. By the way. The addon is still mentioned as outdated. Updated the Fastride.txt manually by adding 100029 to the ## APIVersion so it doesn't show as outdated anymore. Perhaps an idea to fix that in your next update too.

Re: Addon outdated / sticky skill
If I am understanding correctly, all three of those scenarios is behaving correctly. It is important to understand that nothing is allowed to change your skill bar while you are in combat - that is just the way the game works. You cannot change it; addons cannot change it - until you leave combat again. FastRide deals with this by remembering what it is supposed to do and then waiting until you leave combat to do it. Now, assuming that you have the setting: Code:
Enable autoswitch when mounting/dismounting ON The setting: Code:
Revert when skill is used ON The setting: Code:
Reenable when effect fades: ON Sticking of the skill (as I have referred to it in the latest patch) is the condition when FastRide was leaving the rapids skill on the bar instead of changing back to the original skill but exiting out of rapids-mode so that the next time that you enter rapids-mode it would complain that it could not replace the Rapids that was already there with Rapids. The only way to fix that was to go into your skills and manually put back the skill that was supposed to be there. |

With you configuration, I would expect Rapids to be on the bar whenever you are mounted and do not have Rapids already running. When you dismount, Rapids should be swapped out for your original skill. If you are in combat when you dismount, it will wait until you are out of combat to swap your original skill back in, because the game does not allow bar changes while you are in combat. |

Actually, what happened in my case was a bit different: I mount, rapids swap in. I hit rapids. Most of the time, rapids swap out. Sometimes, rapids do NOT swap out. This happens with no combat involved or the like. E.g., I port to a wayshrine, mount, engage rapids, ride several seconds, notice that I still have rapids on my bar, dismount and mount again, it still stays there. |

One thing that I and some of my guild mates have noticed is being in combat for no apparent reason - we noticed this especially running to the dragons in South Elsweyr. After the dragon died, some of us could not mount because it said we were in combat and we'd have to run all the way back to the wayshrine. While others in our group had no problems mounting up because they were not in combat. No ideas about that, but it certainly would/did make problems for FastRide. Do you have the horse head icon visible for FastRide? If not, it might be helpful to turn it on for a while, so you can see when you had Rapids on your bar stuck there by entering combat... (option: Display the mode icon")
If you have Rapids on the bar and the horse is dark - that is a problem. Hopefully the one that I fixed. If you have the Gold horse, use the Rapids skill, and the horse stays gold - then check to make sure that "Revert on use" is ON. If it is ON, then that's a problem. If you have the purple (pink) horse, and it never goes to either gold or dark once you leave combat (within about 3 seconds) - that's a major problem. |

It mostly happened when I was solo, not grouped, but yes, mostly around dragons. Most often the N Pellitine dragon closest to the Black Heights wayshrine -- I teleport to it, mount, rapid, ride to the dragon, and this happens by the time I finish crossing the bridge. Not after the dragon (yeah, in combat status seems to linger there), but before, but when it has already landed. |
