This addon allows you to use the fast travel functionality of the game in a comfortable and highly-customizable way. All fast travel options you have through your guilds, friends and group are listed in a clear way and are usable with different search and filtering features. To get the most out of it, as with any other addon, it is recommended to check the settings after initial installation.

Dependencies
YOU NEED TO INSTALL THE FOLLOWING LIBRARIES SEPARATELY:

LibAddonMenu-2.0 (to manage the addon settings)
LibCustomMenu (to manage context menus (right-click))
LibZone (zone data)


Optional dependencies
The following libraries/addons are not necessary, but extend the features of BeamMeUp (integration):

Port to Friend's House (display of your guild halls or friends houses in BeamMeUp)
LibSets (see your set item collection progress directly in the zone name's tooltip in BeamMeUp)
LibMapPing (to use MapPings)
LibSlashCommander (improved auto-completion, color coding and short descriptions for chat commands)
LibChatMenuButton (the BMU chat button will be handled by a separate library (for harmonization with other addons))
IsJusta BeamMeUp Gamepad Plugin (gamepad plugin for BeamMeUp)


AFTER ADDON INSTALLATION A COMPLETE GAME RESTART IS NECESSARY. OTHERWISE, THE ICONS OF THE ADDON WILL NOT BE LOADED CORRECTLY.

All features:
  • Search, Filter, Favorite, Customize
    • Search by player or zone names
    • Easily port to Group Leader or Group Members in Dungeons (always on top) and see if they are in the same game instance as you

    • /bmutp/quest to port to the focused quest destination
    • Manually add a player to favorites (e.g. /bmu/favorites/add/player @DeadSoon 1) (player name and slot)

    • Set a second language for searching for zone names
      • Set another main language in the options
      • You can search by zone names in your client and in this second language at the same time
      • The Tooltip of zone names shows also the name in the second language
    • Receive a notification when a player favorite comes online
      • Enable this option to see a short notification/center screen message when a favorite player enters the game
    • Intelligent error handling
      • Detection of errors while porting and output of a note in the chat
      • When an error occurs while porting (player you try to port to is in the loading screen) the Addon automatically starts a port process to another player
    • Share your travel destination via the chat
      • If you right-click on the travel button, the teleport will start as usual but, additionally a clickable Link will be printed into the group chat (you have to press Enter!). Your group member can follow you by clicking on the Link (this also allows you to share your houses)
    • Integration into Bandits User Interface
      • A button for BeamMeUp is automatically inserted into the sidebar of Bandits User Interface Addon
    • Useful notification while mining a survey map
      • If you mine a survey map and there are still some identical maps (same location) in your inventory, a notification (center screen message) will inform you (disabled by default).
    • Useful offline reminder
      • If you stay offline for a while while using BMU or whispering to someone, a discrete screen message will remind you that you are still set to offline. This feature helps to avoid unwanted blocking of replies and accidentally staying offline (enabled by default!).

  • Meaning of Colors:
    • GOLD = player and zone favorites
    • ORANGE = Group members
    • GREEN = Friends
    • BLUE = current zone (where your character actual is)


Troubleshooting:
  • No players you can port to / empty result list
    • Remember, free fast travel is only possible to your personal group members, friends or guild members. So first of all, you should check if any of your contacts are online and in a "normal" zone (no instance or pvp zone).
    • If you still cannot see any port options, check your addon settings. You can also try resetting them to defaults.
    • Finally, disable all other addons except BMU and its libraries and test again. Especially, language patches can corrupt ingame functions that are used by BMU.
  • Missing icons
    • If you still cannot see any icons/buttons after the installation of the addon, please restart the complete game. Unfortunately, ESO loads custom icons only once at game start.
    • Also, please check if you installed the addon correctly and that the addon folder BeamMeUp is placed correctly in \Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\
    • If you then still cannot see the icons/buttons, please close the game and delete the file ShaderCache.cooked in the live folder.
    • In rare cases, the McAfee antivirus solutions can delete/block the icon files in the addon folder. You can try to disable the protection while downloading and installing the addon. You can also check if dozens of .dds files are in the /BeamMeUp/media/ folder.
  • Issues with Pan&Zoom
    • When using BeamMeUp together with the outdated addon Map Tools, the Pan&Zoom feature might not work correctly. You can disable Map Tools or the Pan&Zoom feature in BeamMeUp.
  • Gamepad mode
    • The gamepad mode is currently not supported! Gamepad Mode users have to use the mouse (or keybind) to open the addon interface manually. If you notice any bugs while using the Gamepad Mode, please let us know!

I think it would be great to be able to set the default tab for BMU. I mainly use it for teleporting to the zone I'm looking at in the map and it would be great if it just opened to that tab by default. Thank you for this amazing add-on!

Right now, specific tabs can be opened via keybind. That can be the current work around for you.
Nevertheless, I will pick up this use case since there are probably more user who are using BMU like you.

Set Default Tab

Map Completion Missing

Thought I'd post this in case others have the same issue:



After the update this morning, when I click on the BeamMeUp button (Swap To Zone Guide) to see the Map Completion sidebar, BeamMeUp went away but Map Completion didn't show.


I disabled BMU and reloaded. Map Completion came back. I re-enabled BMU, and everything's working again.. Very strange.

Without these error-logs no addon author will be able to help you if the problem is not a general problem for every user.

Also it might be possible that its not the Gamepad-Plugin causing these errors but maybe another addon that is not up to date or incompatible with any others of your addons.

At least a comment like "Shame its the only gamepad mod for beam me up, it always throws errors when unlocking new skills, forcing me to reload the ui" is not helpful and is not good manners also. IsJustaGhost did a great job with the Plugin maybe we have made an update on our side that is causing the errors because IsJustaGhost has to adapt to our changes. But this will only be answered with a correct error log.

The teleport button should be hidden if the specific zone is locked for you (please check this first). Furthermore, you can check the blacklisting options in the addon settings. Im not 100% sure but there should be an option to hide inaccessible zones and that should include those locked zones.

A suggestion:

Since there are many reports about BeamMeUp breaking the right click menus i just wanted to make sure you understand its not BeamMeUp causing this but the old Version of BugCatcher with included LibAddonMenu files. If you are using BugCatcher make sure to also install the BugCatcher Updated Version here: https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info...ated.html#info to make sure it does not interfere with the standalone Library LibAddonMenu.

Could you add an option for a button to port you to the zone where the event is? or have it the first result? Normally I sacrifice a favorite for the event zone but if I could avoid that, I would prefer a button or separate line.

But before starting a post war at EACH single addon (where the addons cannot do anything if you got very old and outdated, or even broken and unsupported addons and libraries in your live/AddOns folder ), please use the exisitng ressources to fix your local addon and library files first:

After cleaning your old libs in subfolders, and LibStub addons:
Update ALL addons and libraries to the newest versions, sing Minion addon manager e.g. (read the roubleshooting guide where it explains what to install, 32bit version, and how to do it or fix bugs with Minion: https://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8082)

Only keep libraries in live/AddOns (if they are available at www.esooui.com as an extra addon/library download! If not, you have to download the addon that needs the library and it should be in the zip file of that addon automatically then.

Also please:
Read the addon's comments if others got the same error messages and if not then you most probably will neither have any error message with the new and updated versions.
If they got error messages then you will most probably find reports of "fixed" or "patched" versions of the addon and you need to deinstall the broken and install the patched versions.
Or move on to another replacement addon!

First of all, please (as always before making bug reports) disable all other addons. Activate only BeamMeUp and the necessary libraries and try again!

I checked the code line where the addon crashes in your case. In that line a usual API function is called. My first assumption is that you have an outdated/broken/strange housing addon enabled that is modifying the the game's own API which we developers use to build addons.

However, please try again only with BMU activated. If it works again, activate your other addons one by one to identify which addon causes this issue. As soon as I have the addon name, I can check further. Also please let me know if you play with mouse+keyboard or with controller (or switching between?).

And of course you should first of all check whether all your addons are up to date. I have now seen this as a prerequisite.

returning player, after trying to add this again i get this error and i cannot open any of my menus as things are just blank/invisible nor can i see the world map anymore even if i try to open the main menu or inventory or any other kind of menus

Thanks, I will consider this idea. But maybe the following information will also help you:
  • By default, group members are preferred "sources". Means that if you look for a specific zone in the list and a group member is in that zone this player will always be displayed as fast travel option even if there are many other players as alternative.
  • To get a fast overview over your group you can use a very simple filter that is placed in the context menu. Just do a right click on any player name in the list -> "Filter" -> "Group Members". That will display all group members immediately.
  • In case you play the most time with the same players, you can mark them as favorite player (also via right click menu). Favorite players are always be displayed at the very top even they are in the same zone
Thank you for the response. I am glad to hear you will consider this idea.
I will try using these methods you suggest for now.
The Favorites does help for people that I tend to be with on a normal basis.
For ones I am not the Filter can help with that, still is more steps that I would like however is much better than no options for this, thank you for pointing this out.
I have been using the method by clicking on the zone they are in and it shows them at the top which now that I know about the Filter, make that a bit easier.
