Updating to MM 3.x
Uninstall MM 2.x first! If you do not Minion will uninstall the MM 3.x files! Master Merchant 3.0 does not use different data or files. It is a direct continuation of the project. Therefore, if you install 3.x first then uninstall 2.x, Minion will uninstall all the files belonging to 3.x. Master Merchant 3.0 uses the same file names. Master Merchant 2.50 or 2.x is at end of life Backup your Master Merchant data before you update. In October of 2020 Master Merchant was split into two projects for various reasons, mostly developmental reasons. They are the same project, the same data format, and no conversion is required. Backup your MM data files, but please do not delete them. There were two goals that I had in the beginning. Update the Kiosk flip times and improve how sales are obtained due to ZOS restrictions a while back. (in possibly 2019) 3.x provides a similar way of obtaining guild sales and works as reliably as ATT. Many people using both reported the sales totals were always in agreement. However, Sirinsidiator has released a new library LibHistoire and it is important that library is used for obtaining guild history. The main reason being that it will significantly reduce the load of requests for sales data on the server. This new library is used in Master Merchant version 3.2.6. Up until MM 3.1.0 users would use a feature I called the Event Index. It provided a count of the total of events loaded in guild history and the amount of time those events covered. Slow guilds may have only a few hundred to a thousand sales in one day while busy guilds will have several thousand sales in one day. It made it easy to know how much data you had requested from the server to keep your sales up to date for the time you were offline. All new sales while you were online were automatically recorded. This has been replaced with new functions to directly receive all data from LibHistoire. LibHistoire is fully automated and has a GUI interface to show users what is needed to be caught up. If you are in a slow guild then most likely you can just wait for the sales to update on their own. If you are in a busy guild due to server restrictions that have been in place for over a year now, it is still recommended to manually request the data so you don't have to wait for it. Depending on how cooperative the server is and how long you are online LibHistoire may receive all the sales data automatically. Please do not expect the server to cooperate though. If you do not wait for the server to corporate and provide you the sales data you are waiting for, LibHistoire has you covered as it will tell you that your guild history cache has not linked to previously stored events. Please uninstall MM 2.x and upgrade to 3.x as 2.x will not be updated further. You are welcome to use 2.50 if you like but you will continue to see a one line reminder to update and with current improvements to 3.x there is no reason not to do so. Just remember to backup your MM data files before you update to 3.x.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 2.4.9 not updating after initial data pull\logon
So it doesn't seem to be a compatibility issue with ATT. I'll keep testing some more this evening to see what's going on, although I'll probably revert back to 2.4.7 before I quit playing for the night cause that version works better for me currently. |

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 2.4.9 not updating after initial data pull\logon
I would like to ask just disable your trade mods except MM, TTC, and AGS and see if the guild history causes the update. Because in all reality, unless you can find a mod that causes a conflict then I can't do anything because I can't reproduce it. The guild history is updating for me just fine. The instant the sale hits the guild history window and I see the notification, I can have the master merchant window open and I see the sale. Whether or not it's for the guild or personal sales.

Re: Re: 2.4.9 not updating after initial data pull\logon
Not sure about any conflicts I might have. All my other addons have been working good, no error messages and 2.4.7 worked fine with the current versions of them all. |

Re: 2.4.9 not updating after initial data pull\logon
As long as sales show up in the guild history that do not have a time date stamp of 1657 months ago or 71582789 minutes ago, then MM will add those automatically to the database. It is set to ignore timestamps like that because that timestamp is false. If you watch guild history long enough the sale with that time stamp will eventually change to X minutes. Although if you put it on verbose 6 that will also include the notification that there was an erroneous time stamp. However, once those are gone and the next time the server updates the sale, then they will be added to the database. Granted I have only AGS, TTC, and MM installed. If you have other mods causing a conflict I'd need to know what mod it is.

2.4.9 not updating after initial data pull\logon
Updated to 2.4.8 yesterday and reverted to 2.4.7 after dups problem and chat spam messages.
2.4.7 has worked fine for me as long as I update each of my guilds on login. With 2.4.7 MM always is a little slower by 4-5 minutes than ATT or my TTC notifications (which always occur simulataneously when the data hits the server). I can live with that delay because the info always gets there for MM while I'm playing. So after making a fresh backup of my Saved variables, I decided to tryout 2.4.9 to see if it would work for me. I followed the instructions and did /mm dups (skipped /mm clean so as to not lose data). Loaded the ten days data which took quite awhile as I am in two big trading guilds. Data loaded fine and I could see everything fine with no dups after I did /reloadui. The problem I am having is while I am playing I am getting NO updates on current sales while in game from MM unless I relog or do a /reloadui. Verbosity is set to 5 and I see no chat messages or spam at all. TTC and ATT still update immediately. I'm sitting here looking at 5 sales in ATT over the last 25 minutes and those sales aren't in MM. I could force a load with /reloadui ui or relogging but I shouldn't have to do that. If this is something that can be easily fixed on my part let me know. Otherwise I might go back to 2.4.7 for more consistency. |

Revert things to 2.2.1 or 2.4.7? All I want is the version number.

Re: Re: Re: Master merchant
I am sorry you feel you lost 5 years of data. I don't see how I can argue that when the programs settings only allow you to keep 365 days of sales not 5 years.

Re: Re: Master merchant
All sales of my trade guild have also disappeared. Only my sales for the last 10 days are shown. I did everything according to the instructions. I lost 5 years of records.

(Note: I'm not sure why quoting isn't working right here, so apologies for that...)
I am guessing that it hasn't changed. The speeds you are comparing are not correct comparisons. The way MM worked is that it would do two things upon login: 1) It would note the time of last update, and request old data until it caught up. 2) It would receive and hold new data from the server, but not update its database until (1) finished. 3) Once 1 and 2 finished, it would wait for new data and update as it arrived. ATT basically doesn't do (1). MM was modified to match ATT and not do (1) because Sharlikran incorrectly thinks that it's broken. So sure, it's faster because it isn't doing the work, not because the act of doing the work was improved.

You are using this as the sole reason for why you deliberately broke the "timestamp marker" functionality that *worked*. Please undo that change.
This isn't just about me. You are breaking the foundational trading tool for the game, which affects everyone. |
