Extra Compass Pins Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Add several new pin types to the overhead compass, for those of us who play without minimaps. Each pin type can be toggled on or off individually. Each pin type has its own colour which can be set in the configuration menu.

Town services:
- Stables
- Banks
- Outlaw Refuges

Group markers:
- Group leader - yes, the game has this already, but not coloured.
- Group members!

Cardinal compass points (N,S,E,W) - yes, the compass has these already, but they are easily obscured by other pins, making it impossible to navigate. This addon adds coloured compass points which are always rendered on top of all other pins.
(New in 1.1) The normal text labels ("N", "S" etc) on the compass are hidden while these pins are shown.

Depends on the following libraries:
- LibAddonMenu2
- Custom Compass Pins

Fixed: all town service pins should now show up correctly.

TNTKokser Forum posts: 38 File comments: 184 Uploads: 0	I don't use Minion. Since ESO needs the addon in a subfolder, I would have to create each folder myself, for every addon I use. With all libraries there are 197 subfolders in my addon folder. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why everybody do it this way and not with loose files?

Yeah, if software would have a brain ... I prefer soft and hardware not having any brain and doing things automatically, maybe I watched Terminator too often

Maybe future versions of Minion, once the dev got time to work on it, will provide an error list at the end.
Not sure if the Minion.log file currently already says that the files could not be extracted and placed properly.

Until then we share the "howtos" and use the WIKI, and we all need to read a bit more (again)

The folder must be the same name as the txt file, so without any spaces, just like the linked Wiki by TNTKokser is telling you.

That's why the the addon still will fail to load properly OR it maybe loading fine due to ZOs not having coded their checks properly

(This could all have been avoided if Minion handled zip files that don't contain a single folder, in a more intelligent way... oh well...)

So at just a glance there is more in the download than stated. I am not trying to cause an problems as that would just be silly. It's just now witch file goes where...I understand that in the Add on folder a Folder named ExtraCompassPins should be ready to go with only the lua file needing to go into the Saved Variables Folder and that should be that.....

AS far as my Minion be bugged I have over 50 Add Ons downloaded and working just fine. I even help guild mated with thier add ons. To save time I have even re-installed a fresh copy of minion and reworked all of my add ons. I have no problems. I will try to download your add on again. I like the idea and want to use it

The file I’m downloading by clicking the big download button in the top right of the mod page, absolutely does not contain those extra files. And I doubt they’d cause problems even if they were included. However the files are not all in a subdirectory inside the zip, maybe that is the problem. I will upload a changed zip file later today. Thanks for your help and interest.

Minion is not the problem. This addon is missing it's toplevel folder. It is wrong packed. If you want to test the addon, create a folder in "C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns" named "ExtraCompassPins" and unpack the content of this addon into this folder. Or wait some days until he reads this and will correct his mistake. Finally

No, it is NOT standard. You may want to download any other addon from this site (but yours) and will notice, that there is exactly one folder inside the zip file. And in this folder you'll find all files. Perhaps you want to have a look here.

I’m sorry that Minion is giving you trouble.
If you download the zip file for this mod manually, you will see that it contains one lua file, one txt file, one LICENSE file (plain text), and a textures folder containing 4 dds files (images).

All of that is completely standard contents for an addon zip file. There is nothing there that is different from all the other zip files on the site.

So maybe it is a bug in Minion. You could consider posting about it on the Minion sub forum (https://www.esoui.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=183). If it does turn out to be caused by my addon in some way, then I will be happy to change the zip file.

In the mean time, you can download the file and unzip it to your live/Addons folder where all your other addons live.

When you upload a file to the site, it has to be approved. So it does not appear immediately. You would know this if you had ever contributed anything to the site.
