Helps keep track of Event Tickets so you don't miss any.

Now with USER INTERFACE!

NOTE: Chat commands have changed! (/evt still works.)

Automatic messages:
- at character sign on
- when a ticket is acquired
- when tickets are spent at the Impresario.
- when tickets become available again after daily reset. (NEW with 1.13)

Commands:
/evt - View ticket information
/evt help - Shows all chat commands (/evt ? also works)

/evt info - View event information
/evt hide - Hide chat messages, except the most important
/evt show - Show all chat messages (reverse /evthide)
/evt ui - Toggles user interface

/evt chat - Posts event info to chat line, to answer other player's questions
- Please be sure you are in the correct chat before doing this!
- You have to press ENTER to send the line.

The User Interface hides during combat.

This addon works for people who play on both NA and EU servers.

To do: Support for other languages, menu options

* 1.12 (2019-12-21) New ticket algorithm uses New Life quests to determine source instead of number of tickets to cover cases where tickets were missed because of cap; changed info because delve bosses don't give tickets
ARCHIVED as the last simple chat-only version. (Though UI can be turned off.)

1.11 (2019-12-20) Checked that ticket availability is resetting at daily reset; restored messages about tickets already gotten and how long till next; added info that boss tickets can be had from rifts and pub dungeons

1.10 (2019-12-19 7:30pm) Fixed ticket init (when it finds ticket info other than by loot, quest, or spending them), and a minor display issue on remaining event time with /evtinfo

Done. There is now a keybind for toggling the UI, in version 1.25.

Did you want keybinding for other chat commands also? Now that I know how to do it, wouldn't be that big a deal to add those as well.

I apologize that the UI doesn't stay where you move it to. That was an error I accidentally introduced in the latest release version. I've been working on the next version, and it will be working again when that one comes out.

That's a good idea, hiding it when in menus. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do that. When I get a chance, I'll try to figure it out. Thanks for the suggestion! - In the meantime, though, I have figured out how to implement the suggestion made by DBZVelena, to do a keybind for turning it on and off, so perhaps that will help. I run mine in the far top right corner; I guess it's just so out of my way it doesn't interfere with menus or anything else.

If it's possible to add a setting that automatically hides the UI in menus? like when interacting with the bank, crafting stations, etc.

Also a setting to anchor the UI so that it stays in place?

If not that's okay, and thank you for your time in making such a great addon

I haven't forgotten about the keybind; in fact, I've been working on it since you requested it. I just haven't quite figured it out yet. Hopefully soon!

Thank you so much for that comment; it really made my day!

I hadn't even thought of a keybinding. It hadn't occurred to me that anyone might be turning the UI on and off often enough to want one. It turns itself off and on during combat, turns itself off when there's no event, and back on when an event starts - other than that, I figured people would either want it or not.

Thanks for the idea! I started teaching myself Lua to write this, which is why it didn't have a UI to start with. Every time I added a new feature, I decided what I wanted it to do, then learned more of the language to do it. If I get some time in between events and rl stuff, I'll try to check out keybinds.

You're welcome! Thank you for the post! I'd just like to get word of this out there; I feel a lot more people could be helped by it who don't know it exists yet.

I wish there was someplace I could just upload (or access) info about events, so users wouldn't have to download a new version every time there's an event announced to get the info. But that doesn't seem to be in their in-game database anywhere that I can find, unfortunately, so I'll just have to keep on top of their announcements, and hope people check for updates frequently.

(Second event actually - I first published it during Dragonguard, but few people noticed. Third, if you count that I started working on it during Witch's Festival.)

I've still been working on it as much as I safely can since the event ended. Just have to be careful, since I can't test anything that involves getting tickets.

And yeah, I didn't get a lot of New Life boxes this year. Getting back into some programming again has been kind of fun though.

Major changes in Version 1.13

User interface! - which hides itself when in combat.

Chat commands changed/added

/evt - still shows YOUR event tickets
/evt help or /evt ? - shows all chat commands

/evt info - Event Information
/evt chat - Posts Event Info to a chat line, to answer questions from other players

/evt hide - Hides chat messages except the most important
/evt show - Shows all chat messages (default)

/evt ui - Toggle user interface


This covers the most important things I had wanted it to do from the beginning, except perhaps support for other languages. I think I'll take a day or two off before tackling that and just play the game. Enjoy!

Thank you for the info! It appears that they do, and the feedback from you was part of the reason I changed the event info back to say so, or that I even checked that this was fixed.

Feedback is very much appreciated, especially with an addon like this, where it's only possible for me to do very limited testing myself! (I can only get tickets twice per day, once on the NA and once on the EU.)

So delve boss info is fixed now, and hope you like the new UI!

The change log for this most recent patch says "1.12 (2019-12-21) New ticket algorithm uses New Life quests to determine source instead of number of tickets to cover cases where tickets were missed because of cap; changed info because delve bosses don't give tickets" however at the present time (not often outside of Witch's, but definitely true this time) the delve bosses do indeed drop the 3 extra tickets for killing a boss.

Thank you for the feedback! I'm working on an update and will have it out as soon as I can. The event does not work as ZOS said it would, unfortunately (it gives two tickets for the first New Life quest, not one for each of the first two!)

Also, it's not possible to fully test until an event starts, so I've just been trying to stay on top of it.

Please keep letting me know if you run into anything, so I can get it fixed as quickly as possible, and thank you for using the Event Tracker! It's really nice to have feedback.
