Hide Target Frame  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.1
by: circonian [More]
This addon will no longer be supported.
I have combined several small addons that had only a single feature into a single addon called TweakIt.

This feature can now be found in TweakIt, you can find it here: TweakIt

What does it do?
This addon hides the target frame while out of combat.
When you enter combat the target frame will become visible and it will hide itself again when combat ends.

Just to Clarify: This is not like when you aim your reticle at a target and the frame appears, then move it away and the target frame disappears.
The target frame will not be visible, regardless of what your looking at, unless you are in combat.

Version 1.1 --

Update Window Added a call to Update the target frame window after switching visibility state. Hopefully this will fix the rare instances when the window does not get refreshed on its own.
Sometimes the target window was not appearing when you entered combat. Moving the cursor off the target & back on would fix it. I believe the window was not refreshing the target data on its own for some reason so I added some code to update the unit frame window after changing the visibility state. After that I was no longer able to reproduce the problem, the unit frame seemed to always pop up when it was supposed to. Hopefully this fixed the problem.
If you have any more problems with it let me know.

Hello Circonian. Could you take a look at these posts I made in the ESO subreddit? https://www.reddit.com/r/elderscroll...ce_for_target/

Thanks!

Depends on if I can reproduce it. If I can figure out, myself, how to get the bug to reproduce I can probably find a way to fix it. But I need to be able to reproduce it to track it down.

Hm, just so I understand whats going on there is one thing I'm not clear on. Using a quest item I can understand, but you also said when your talking to a quest NPC...are you talking to the npc "while in combat?" You said when you talk to the npc the frame disappears, but if your out of combat it should already be invisible?

Thats strange its literally only 1 line of code, as garkin posted. There is not much to go wrong. That code has no effect on the opacity of the target frame, it is never changed. It only changes the visibility state.

Edit:
I have been able to get the frame to "NOT" pop up on rare instances, but if you move the cursor off your target & then back on, the frame pops back up. I can only guess this means that the target frame is not always refreshing properly when unhidden.

Edit: Edit:
I added some code to update the target frame window after setting the visibility state. After that I was no longer able to get the problem to reproduce itself. Let me know if you have any more problems.
