Linion Addon Manager
Version: 1.0-8
by: esorochinskiy [More]
Linion is a Linux lightweight port of the famous Minion addon manager. Built with graphical interface it allows those who plays on WINE or PlayOnLinux or Proton simply install, delete or backup addons just as its big Java brother allows

Supported Languages:
  • English (default fallback)*
  • Russian
  • German

Unix-style manual pages:
  • English (default fallback)*
  • Russian
  • German

*NB! When a locale isn't set than the app's language falls back to English

Features:
  • Scan user-chosen addon directory for installed addons automatically monitoring its changes for manual addon installation or removal
  • Choose addons from the list, install, backup or remove them
  • see addon's local and remote descriptions in a separate part of the interface just with one mouse click

TODO's:
  • All addons restore from backup
  • Dependency check
  • Other languages translation

Stable tests
This app has been tested steady on Ubuntu Linux.

First launch

When first launched a dialog will pop up automatically and you will be suggested to choose your addon's path

For Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy Jellyfish and above:

Code:
sudo apt install linion
For Snap users:

https://snapcraft.io/linion
or manually
Code:
sudo snap install linion

Thank you for the notice. The behaviour is just as you've described.
There's no other way to check if the selected folder belongs to the game, only if there are installed addons there. But to enforce the user to install the addons manually to get the application working is not a good idea, you're right.
So I'll include it into the nearest fix

If I say yes and reselect the folder path I get the same error. If I say no and try to continue without changing it the program is mostly unresponsive. None of the buttons or search bar work. Only the [Settings] and [Help] menus work.

I unistalled Linion and removed the PPA from my sources to try a full fresh install and am encountering the same issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
So I figured out my problem. It was 2 issues, but only the first one related directly to your addon).

First, it seems it will sit in that inactive status for the buttons and search bar if the the Addons folder is empty. I manually downloaded an addon from this site last night and dropped it into the folder and when I restarted Linion it saw the addon and allowed me to search for more.

The other issue I had was not directly related to your addon, but other users of your addon may encounter it. If you have ESO installed via Steam it will create a directory (home/username/elder scrolls online/live) for you, but that is not the directory the game actually uses. Instead you need to use the following path:

"home/usernname/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/306130/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns"

You need to make the [Addons] folder manually as installation doesn't create it. And lastly, I just want to say thank you again for this great addon.

As every Linux GUI app it has English as a basic language which switches on automatically fi you have the corresponding locale in your system
