Fix for Idle Animations Continued - LibStub/AddonMenu Error
Version: 2
by: deljason [More]
Update for Idle Animations Continued Version 3 to remove LibStub usage and fix libaddonmenu2.0 errors.

Original addon: https://www.esoui.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=2157

Replace the two files in the original addon with the ones from this zip file. It should get the addon working without errors.

Version 2: minor change to IdleAnimations.txt to remove unused lib links.

LibAddonMenu-2.0 is needed for the original addon and this patch.

I found out so far, that it isn't the addon itself that breaks the item preview but the option to suppress camera spin when opening menus. I guess, any addon with that option will make the preview stop working...
Sorry, I didnt see your post earlier. Yes, the suppress camera spin will break item preview.

Hi there! Sorry for my English, I'm not a native speaker...

After the latest patch/update I realized, that the newly implemented item preview from inventory did not work.
I went through all addons I am using and could determine "Idle Animations" as the one that inhibits the preview feature.

I un-/reinstalled it and also tried the fix provided by deljason. With no luck.

I've been using this addon for a loooong time and it takes a very special, important place in my gameplay.
It has a few features that other addons don't offer and atm I am really desperate having to decide between my beloved "personalities" I created with IA and previewing items.

I can't tell, if this is a major issue to be worked out and solved. And the latest update for this addon is quite some time ago.

However, I would be more than grateful if the creator (or someone else) could find a fix for this.

Have a great day all! <3

Edit: Maybe I should be more precise:
  • I have no error messages, the addon itself works flawlessly
  • When rightclicking an item that can be previewed, the option "preview" is missing in the dialog
  • The keybind to preview the item doesn't work either

Thank you very much.

I haden't checked the contents of the original addon, mea culpa.
Just saw you were kind of overwriting only the 2 files so I thought the others will still exists in the folder and will be used, if the base addon was installed.

Depending on if a user uses Minion (will delete the whole folder of the addon + subfolders before updating, so this would work well!) or manually updates addons (most users just extarct and overwrite so the old libs subfolder would still be there - txt loads them -> lua errors ) this fails then.

So it's always better to totally clean up these txt files as you cannot know what the users do on their side.

Maybe someone already removed them and just did not clean up the txt file.

Those Lib folder references are from the original addon but are now removed in my patch.

Note: the original addon no longer downloads a "libs" folder so that is probably something leftover from old code.
