Urich's Skill Point Finder  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 5.2.0
by: fritzOSU03, Onigar
Description
Have you ever been in a situation where you need more skill points but you have no idea where to get them? Well today is your lucky day! Urich's Skill Point Finder provides a graphical interface showing all of the skill points you have (and haven't) earned throughout the entire game. You can show or hide the window by binding a hotkey or by entering the slash command. Slash command information is below.

Please Note
From Version 5.1.0 you need to separately install: LibTableFunctions-1.0 and LibAddonMenu-2.0

Localization
Localization for German, French, and Japanese is included in version 4.0.0. I speak only English so I am very sorry if a translation is incorrect. My only available source was Google Translate. Please message me if you see a translation that can be improved or shortened where space is an issue. Also feel free to provide a complete translation for another language if you would like to see it added to a future update.

Slash Commands
  • /uspf - Show or hide the USPF window.
  • /uspf help - Display help information in the chat window.

Known Issues/Complications
  1. There was reportedly some issue in the past with public dungeon group boss events not properly awarding skill points upon completion. This may result in the USPF UI showing more skill points than you actually have. If this is the case for you, it means that you were shorted a skill point by the game.
  2. The Folium Discognitum is a scroll that awards two skill points on use. Because the Folium is a scroll and not a book, it is not possible to determine if if you have earned those points besides comparing the number of earned skill points with the number of expected skill points + 2. There is an override in the settings menu if this information is not correct for your character.
  3. There are skill points awarded upon completion of "Broken Bonds" and "The Mind Trap" for Morrowind and Summerset characters respectively. There are override options in the settings menu for these skill points if this information is not correct for your character.
Planned Changes

1. solve the non display of the extra skill point on chars created from chapter Morrowind and later.
2. release with Greymoor content

Version 5.2.0
The Werewolf skill line would cause hiding of the Folum Discognitum skill points.
Thanks to Rifu86 for this fix.
Note: The addon SkillPointFinder counts Devour as a spent point and the total will be +1 higher until changed.

There were reports of the Vampire skill line also creating a similar effect but I have investigated with my Vampire chars and find no problem.

Version 5.1.0
(thanks to Sharlikran)
Removed references to LibStub

This seems to have fixed it and the mages guild "folium discognitum" gets detected on my werewolf now.

Code:
val = (skillLineId == SOUL_MAGIC and skillIndex == 2 and 1 or val or val)
	val = (IsWerewolfSkillLine(skillType, skillLine) and skillIndex == 1 and 1 or val)
	val = (IsWerewolfSkillLine(skillType, skillLine) and skillIndex == 7 and 1 or val)
end
(PS: The 'SpentSkillPoints' addon also has this problem where it counts Devour as a 'purchased' skill)
Thank you Rifu86 for your input and code changes.

I have looked into this and agree it happens. If you have Folium Discognitum" shown with 2 skill points then it is only after you complete the initial quest to gain the skill line does the addon no longer show those 2 skill points.

There may be a similar effect with the Vampire skill line too as I have checked with others who have a vampire character and for then the Discognitum 2 skill points are not shown. Just being bitten does not have any effect on this.

I will be applying a fix so that either of the Vamp & Were skill lines should no longer effect this.

Allegedly people who missed skill points from these should've been compensated for those missing skill points when they fixed the bugs but I guess that didn't work out as they planned.
I'll try the impossible and create a support ticket about it, I don't really expect them to fix it on my character though.

I don't have a link right now, but there was also an issue with group dungeons, back in 2014, not awarding skill points on completion. I think that was fixed going forward in 1.1, but characters that had already completed bugged dungeons did not receive missing skill points.

Also, Soul Trap does not appear to count as "spent" for the spent skill tracker I'm using. (It's one of the Harven mods, though I assume this behavior is part of the API data."

However, swap over to a werewolf and things get weird. The basic respec UI says that my werewolf skill line has one spent skill (Bloodmoon), however, Harven's spent skill points says I have 2 points in that category. (I have 3 skills there on this character, the unmorphed transform, Devour, and Bloodmoon.) So it's reporting that a free skill (probably devour) is still purchased. That said, the character does come to the same result from USPF and available skill points when fully respecced. (176).

The canned response is automated. You just reply to that in a friendly way explaining the issue again and someone will look into it. Anyway that has been the process for me and its worked fine so far.

I spoke with some of the Zos folks at Quake Con, it was their policy at that time to reply to all tickets with a boilerplate canned response and a time limit to allow you to respond and tell them they were not even close to the issue you had, this was done because of the number of tickets they get on a daily basis from the clueless... if you respond to the response they say they will actually have a person look at it and perhaps even respond... yes, there was actual drinking going on, but I did not see any sign of impairment.
