This stops empty containers from displaying text and allows you to blacklist NPCs and interactable objects. It was requested by Gamer1986PAN.

Uses
  • Automatically removes the interact option from empty containers. E.g you loot an urn, the empty urn will no longer tell you it is empty.
  • Blacklist NPCs that you frequently accidentally talk to while trying to do something or simply dislike.
  • Blacklist interactable objects (such as barrels) that you don't wish to interact with while looting other things.
  • Blacklisting interactable thievable objects without blacklisting allowed objects.

Keybind
There's a keybind for toggling the whole thing on/off as well as a second for toggling the targeted NPC/object.

Pressing the second keybind will allow toggling of blacklisting a character/object without needing to use the commands. It will only blacklist the legality type of the container at hand (so if you want to blacklist lootable sacks and thievable sacks, you'll need to interact with both).

No Interact

Allows blacklisting of NPCs/Objects. Use the keybind or use "/nointeract name" to blacklist.

For containers only: you can also block stealing from containers versus legal looting via "/nointeract container_name (theft)"

Yes Interact

This allows you to re-enable interaction with an NPC/Object: uses the same keybind as No Interact or use "/yesinteract name"

List Interact

The "/listinteract" command will show all of the NPCs/Objects you've currently blocked.

Toggle Interact

Allows disabling the blacklist (except for the empty containers). Use the keybind or "/toggleinteract"

Help

You could always ask me if need be, but the more on demand option is /nihelp. The command will return usage instructions for the aforementioned commands.

Feature Request

Hello, I recently installed this addon and I like to be protected from stupid and undesirable things.
Since we have companions there is one thing that nerfs: Harvest Insects !
Could you please take this to your protection list ?

What is an example of one that should have extra spaces? I use the keybind, so that the game grabs the text for me. Have you tried that way?

Hi, I found a small bug. If accidentally add a space before the name of the object to interact that object can not be ignored consecutively, even if you add it again without the space. To fix you need to do /yesinteract with the errounous name including the space infront of it.

For example if you do this (with an extra space in front of SomeObject):

/nointeract SomeObject

There is supposed to be an extra space infront of SomeObject in that line, but ESOUI is removing extra spaces for some reason.... Now in game you'll notice that SomeObject is not being blacklisted and you wonder why? Beacause clearly it is on the list!? So you try to add /nointeract SomeObject now spelled correctly without a space in front of it (but you dont know that you did not spell it correctly the first time because it is just a empty thin space infront of it which is very easy to miss). But while the new correctly spelled name will be added to the blacklist the object wont actually be blacklisted in game because SomeObject (with a space in front of it) is already added to the list (and for whatever reason that causes it to not make the interaction text dissappear even though it was correctly added the second time).

Took me a damn long to realize that I had accidentally added a space infront of the object name I had added the first time and that to solve it I had to first do /yesinteract along with object name and place a space infront of it and THEN add the correctly spelled object name with /nointeract!


But other than this tiny bug that can be avoided by being careful as a user, the addon works perfectly even after all this time. There are some objects that I never want to use, but sometimes accidentally interact with. For example the boat on the Vivec harbour is so close to an npc you can steal from that if you just look at the npc a little differently the text changes to the boat and if you press your use key you irreversibly start a journey to Deshaan! This addon saves me such headaches, so thank you thank you!

Hi,

Can you please add one more interaction block here? Suppress "SIT", preferably, easily toggleable between "always", "never" and "when sneaking"?

Lightbulb Request of Which Interaction Got Blocked

I have a small request, please.

The messages we get in chat are great as they are, but it would be nice if the "Interaction with blacklisted NPC stopped." included what we had attempted to interact with.
The green text already includes what we have blacklisted or removed from our blacklist.
"Barrels has been blacklisted."
"Barrels has been removed from the blacklist."

But, it would be great if the red text included it as well.
Something like, "Interaction with blacklisted NPC [Barrels] stopped."
Or, "Interaction with blacklisted NPC/Object [Barrels] stopped."
(Notice I added "/Object" because the addon does allow blacklisting of other things other than NPCs.)
Or, "Interact with [Barrels] stopped." to do it in a very simple way. Probably the best way to do it, really.

I absolutely love this addon. It's SPECTACULAR. Thank you for this!!!!!

Also, if you do add support for the Combat Reticle addon, please make the changes optional, if you can?

I actually prefer Combat Reticle to change if I hover over something I've blacklisted. I love that there isn't any text or anything (how it is now). Just a small change with my reticle, so I know it must be something I've blacklisted.

If/When you decide to come back and update this addon, can we get support for CombatReticle? Only issue I have with it now is it blocks the dialogue for intractable but CombatReticle still shows interaction animation and owned icon.

Possibly, but it'd likely require quite different code from what the rest is using. I'm currently too busy getting things ready for Update 15 to do any feature requests.

I sometimes accidentally sit down on seats when trying to interact with a sitting NPC. Not anymore! The No Interact add on has made my accidental sitting a thing of the past - thank you!
