Nope, you can set any player and house. Whether you have to be a friend of this player depends on this players permissions configuration for his houses.

There are already other good addons for porting to specific houses of (offline) players. I recommend Port To Friends House.
Thanks, this pretty much sidesteps all my current issues and is exacly what I was looking for. I assumed it would only port to friends because, well, the name

There are already other good addons for porting to specific houses of (offline) players. I recommend Port To Friends House. Thats why BeamMeUp will not provide such feature apart from
  • porting to the primary residence of online players
  • porting to own houses
  • porting to the BeamMeUp guild house (coming in next release)

Yes, there is a chat command for adding favorite players, who are currently offline. Just check the bottom of the settings menu. There you will find all relevant chat commands.

Well observed! When you port to a favorite player, BMU assumes that you want to port to this player and not to another player in the same zone because an other player could be in another game instance. However, it could be a solution to retry a failed port when they are triggered via the list (UI).

Just try mouse right click on the zone names and player names in the list.
You can port to the primary residence of the player. And by this context menu you can also set players as favorites and also zones as favorites.

Would it be possible to add the list of favorite players with a button, just like the owned houses, active quests, etc buttons; then have the same context menu to port to them/residences?

By the way, setting a player as favorite this way requires them to be online - I have a specific case of a delegated GM account that is barely ever online. Is there a slash command perhaps?
There is also possibly a minor bug with porting to a zone that happens to have a favorite player in it: if it fails for whatever reason, it doesn't get retried; I assume this is because it gets treated as a port to person, which normally shouldn't be.

Just try mouse right click on the zone names and player names in the list.
You can port to the primary residence of the player. And by this context menu you can also set players as favorites and also zones as favorites.

It's definitely fixed and things work as expected now.

right now i am on NA and collecting survey maps. i can tell the function still is working for me. so its a ZOS only performance problem we can not fix on our end.
Like others said before, BMU finds people who don't exist because the game reports them wrong. This behavior can be accounted for on the addon side simply by having it keep retrying until it finds someone. It should do that anyway because there isn't much of a reason not to, it makes porting more reliable overall.

It hasn't been acknowledged on the forum reports yet, not particularly hopeful on that.

This runs into the same issue as before, which would be avoided by retrying automatically.

Under normal conditions (without this game bug), retrying once is absolutely enough, because it is extremely unlikely that the teleport error will occur twice in a row.

However, Im not sure if I could implement your proposed workaround until next games patch. In any case, I will take a look at it. So far, I could not personally test it on my own.

lets hope for mondays patch to get rid of the problems.

edit: its intended that BMU only tries it once more. if there is still problems you can still jump to the map, show all users on that zone and jump manually to one of them.

Hi Dorrson,
it's not you or your guilds nor the addon - it's a new bug in the game since Monday's patch. Have a look at the most recent posts in this forum below. Some people have posted about the issue in this ESO forum thread (including a crosspost to my own thread about it): https://forums.elderscrollsonline.co...g-from-in-game

Update: The bug is apparently fixed in update v5.2.10 on Monday, November 25. I have not tested yet.

I can still manually bring up my guild rosters and teleport to a guild member though. Using BMU 1.7.0; latest version as far as I know.

Just to clarify, I have not tested this rigorously nor at different times of day yet; might be worth other people also testing to confirm though. (I had the same issue on another character on PC/EU earlier, but thought it might be a valid issue with no guild members online in that zone - hard to tell with small guilds.)

Update: I'm starting to think it's a new game bug, not addon issue. Several of my guilds now have roster listings of players with no CPs shown (when I know they are CP-level), and if I try to port to them from the roster, I get "Character not found". So I think the roster listing is not being updated when people go offline.
For explanation why you sometimes see the addon's teleport message twice:
If a player is in a loading screen to another zone while you are trying to port to him/her, the fast travel fails. We try to catch this rare issue by detecting that the teleport has failed and then the addon tries automatically to port to another player located in the selected zone.

However, this situation will rarely happen and even more rarely that both travel attempts will fail. And when I read your roster listings issue I think that this is a temporary game issue. Im pretty sure, that the addon uses the same functions as the guild roster, which means when you see issues there it can lead to issues in BeamMeUp.

I will have a look on that and hopefully the problem will resolve itself.
