Morrowind Style UI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.14
by: Half-Dead [More]
Made this a while back for fun but didn't feel like it was worth releasing. Then, TESO: Morrowind got announced so I decided that I'll release it anyways because someone might want it so i touched it up and here it is. It's much more basic than my other UI overhauls but it gets the job done.

Texture overhaul mod that gives the UI a TES3 aesthetic. Should be compatible with any UI mods that don't change textures and in theory should work forever unless Zenimax changes way ui works.

Keyboard only for now. May do gamepad mode in the future.

Installation
----------------------

Choose either menus only or menus + HUD and open it. Then drag and drop "MorrowindStyleUI" into your ESO addons folder.

otf fonts ligatures

Can't express how much I love this addon. Thank you!
But I'm curious... is it possible to enable ligatures from .otf fonts?

Embedded libraries

Although the addon has not been updated for a long time, I still want to draw attention to a major problem in the hope that the developer will become active again.

As in the case with many other old addons, the libraries which the addon uses are embedded instead of being properly dependent on it. So please, never ever copy external libraries (such as LibAddonMenu) into the addon folder. This may result in "overwriting" the properly installed and current version of the library. This can cause many errors in many addons (especially in the case of LibAddonMenu).

Instead please use the "DependsOn" and "OptionalDependsOn" directive in the manifest file of the addon.

However, as long as the addon is not updated, users can apply the following fix. You should try it, if you get some strange LUA errors about libs and it can also fix the issue that the style is not applied to all addon interfaces.

-------------------------------------

1. Change the manifest file "MorrowindStyleUI.txt":
  • delete the directives to load the outdated lib files
  • properly depends on LibAddonMenu

Code:
## Title: Morrowind Style UI
## Description: Overhaul for an Morrowind style UI
## Author: Half-Dead
## APIVersion: 100026 100027
## Version: 1.14
## SavedVariables: MorrowindStyleUI_SavedVariables
## DependsOn: LibAddonMenu-2.0

MorrowindStyleUI.lua
MorrowindStyleUISettings.lua
PrettyAdditions.lua

2. Replace the very first line of the file "MorrowindStyleUISettings.lua":
  • stop using obsolet LibStub

Code:
local LAM = LibAddonMenu2

Menus only no compass

Hi I don't know if you're even still around but I can't figure out how to use this while retaining the vanilla compass? Anyway great mod and still works no problem for anyone reading this now.

I have issues with changing fonts. Maybe someone here can help me:

I downloaded this add on, put it into the addon folder and this works. So far so good.

Now it is advised to use pawksickle. So I downloaded it, put it in the same Add on folder.
Then I went on to download the kingthings execter font, like advised.
I drop the kingthings exeter.ttf to ...\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\Pawksickles\fonts

I opened the pawksickles.lua and added
LMP:Register( 'font', 'Kingthings Exeter', [[Pawksickles/fonts/kingthings exeter.ttf]] )
as last entry before
CBM:RegisterCallback( 'PAWKSICKLES_FONT_CHANGED', function( ... ) self:SetFont( ... ) end )
CBM:FireCallbacks( 'PAWKSICKLES_LOADED' )

Then I went on to pawksicklesconfig.lua and replaced every
'Univers 67', 'Univers 57', 'Futura Condensed' with 'Kingthings Exeter'
I wanted the bookfonts untouched so I left the others alone (like 'Skyrim Handwritten' and 'Trajan Pro').

Problem is that not a single font changes. Thanks in advanced.

Could you make a version where, instead of bronze/brown, the borders look silver instead?

Ok so how do you update manually?
You'd have to download the new version when it comes out but I just released a fix for Minion so it should work properly now.

Ah I see, I haven't used minion so I'll fix it. As for the second issue there isn't much I can do about that from my end since all mine does is change textures. That's on Master Merchants end.

2 problems with addon:

1. Incorrect packed. After install by Minion i see addon in incorrect folder. Folder must be C:\Users\username\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\youraddon
but your addon in C:\Users\username\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\_Required\youraddon
2. Incompatible with Master Merchant. Master Merchant extend guild roster page of guild window and on one page addon looks bad. See scrreenshot: http://imgur.com/LkmM23x
