Audio Control

(Click your flag to translate the page. Addon includes in-game support for all listed languages.)

REQUIRED LIBRARIES: LibAddonMenu

Ever been annoyed by people spamming abilities in a crafting area or bringing the most obnoxious sounding pets with them when they visit an indoor bank? Wish you could set a key bind to silence specific types of background noise, or annoying NPC's who always seem to be looking for you? Well, now you can!

ESO Audio Toggle lets you set individual keybinds to toggle Music, Ambient, Effects, Footsteps, Dialogue, Interface, Cinematic, and Combat sounds on and off independently. Or, you can set one keybind that toggles ALL sound effects.

Additionally, Audio Control now has a comprehensive Addon Settings interface that allows setting all toggles and volume levels for each sound type in the game, and have those settings persist through login/logout and across all your characters. These settings will automatically sync to the game's main Audio controls, and change those controls instantly when adjusted.

Gold donations are always welcome!

Hi all, I’m back and working on addons again. Times are tough and I am desperately in need of financial support at the moment dealing with disability due to a bleeding brain cavernoma and other expenses on less than $600 monthly fixed income. If anyone can help, or knows anyone that can help, or can possibly feature some of my work on their stream to help drive support my way, I would be immensely grateful. It will help me to continue to bring cool content and updates to you all!

1.19:
- Updated for Scribes of Fate.

1.18:
- Updated for High Isle.
- EDIT: Removed some testing functions.

1.17:
- Updated for Ascending Tide.
- Minor code maintenance.

1.16:
- Created an additional workaround to avoid logging out and back not respecting global sound toggle state for individual sounds.

1.15:
- Fixed an unexpected behavior: When toggling the master sound state from off to on, the game turns all the individual sound types back on if they have been toggled off. This wouldn't be noticeable by default since the game doesn't have on/off toggles for individual sound types, only volume level sliders. However Audio Control adds these, so it needs to set each back to it's configured state whenever the global sound toggle is set on to preserve individual configurations. This is now properly accounted for.

1.14:
- Complete re-write.
- Added new Addon Settings that let you set each type of sound enabled/disabled and the volume level which persists between logins and characters.
- Many code changes, additional keybinds/commands, and general improvements.
- Full language localization support (submit improved translations via PM).

1.13:
- Updated API for Waking Flame update.

1.12:
- Updated API for Blackwood.
- Minor code maintenance.

1.11:
- Updated API for Stonethorn.

1.10:
- Updated API for Greymoor.

1.09:
- Updated API for Harrowstorm.
- Various fixes and code maintenance.

1.08:
- Updated API version for Scalebreaker.

1.07:
- Minor maintenance.

1.06:
- Updated for Wrathstone.

1.05:
- API bump for Murkmire.
- Minor maintenance

1.04:
- API bump for Dragon Bones.

1.03:
- API bump

1.02:
- Updated API to One Tamriel (Update 12)
- Updated libraries to latest.

Version 1.01:
- Updated API to latest.

Cool Thank You Phinix, Excellent Work!

@Phinix

Awesome. I had the opportunity to test the latest right before the servers went down for their update. I can confirm that v1.16 works as intended. I tip my hat to you for your patience here, and for your gracious updates! You're the man.

Additional fix...

@P5ych3 - Thanks for the additional info. I was able to create an additional workaround that allows the addon to respect individual sound toggle state values when logging out and back in, in additional to the previously described fix. Hopefully everything is working as expected now.

Lightbulb v1.15 Report

@Phinix

The issue persists after updating to v1.15. I disable sounds using the hotkey and see the message in chat ("All sounds disabled."). Then log out to the character selection screen. Upon logging back into the game I can now hear footsteps etc. once again, and the mute must be reapplied using the 'Toggle All Sounds' hotkey again. The 'Master Volume' game setting is not respecting the state of the mute when the UI is reloaded.

Re: Re: Persistent settings & language support...

@P5ych3 - Thanks for the report, and glad you enjoy the addon! Give the latest version a try and let me know if this improves things. I discovered in testing the issue you reported that the game actually sets the (normally hidden) enabled/disabled state of all the individual sound types to enabled when you toggle the master sound setting from off to on. So for example, if you had all the individual sound types set to off, but turned the master sound toggle from off to on, the individual sound types would be heard even though Audio Control would still show them off, and you would have to enable and disable them again to turn them back off.

Knowing this I updated the addon to set each individual sound type on/off state to the saved value any time the master sound toggle is switched on, so that their settings are always preserved independently. Hopefully that will resolve the issue you experienced but if not let me know.

After the last update to this addon (thank you by the way, much obliged!) some settings seem to inappropriately revert after logging out to the character selection screen and then back in to the game. My game window is typically muted while I watch television or do other work simultaneously, and I have noticed the need to manually reapply the muted state of the audio a few times since then. More specifically, the numerical volume settings in the menu seem to persist just fine, but the muted/unmuted state of the audio toggle does not function entirely as expected in the current build (v1.14). I'm certain this is an easy fix but I still thought you should be aware. Much obliged, and compliments on your excellent addon! I will continue to use this addon and find it very useful.
