Backpack  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.0-75
by: b|m [More]
Backpack is an inventory manager for The Elder Scrolls Online. It displays groups of items from the player's inventory that are dynamically created based on custom filters. You can choose to show or hide individual groups from the addon's SETTINGS menu. Backpack can also optionally be shown when interacting with various game objects like banks, stores, other players etc. Check the addon's SETTINGS menu to change this behaviour.

Keybindings in current version works just with the english game client. To fix this issue change layer name in bindings.xml from "General" to "SI_KEYBINDINGS_LAYER_GENERAL":

there is a git repository on github.

fork it, play around with the code (e.g. adding filters has become a really simple process). id be happy to accept any pull requests. seriously

I, like you, am just learning to make addons hehe, although you are definitely further along than I am. I have worked with LUA before, but in a *very* different scope (namely Game Logic and Unit Stats/Abilities etc, Game Modding), so this is definitely a learning experience but a fun one, for sure.

Hopefully soon I will be able to do more than just suggestions hehe.
Looking forward to it

Good Day,

i fixed the folder structure (once again). The error was introduced on Tuesday. So people probably still running outdated versions right now (if they use minion)

i feel like sharing some thoughts about the current state of Backpack:
it may be time to stop adding features and start to cleanup the code. i may have to add sorting and combinable filters in the process. i agree that those are the two major missing features and both may effect the underlying implementation, well sorting at least. everything else (adding new filters, highlights, settings, whatever) is rather a bonus on top.

this preview version is rather hacked together to make things work and to show what can be done. so most of the code is rather messy. and tbh, im rather new to lua and the eso addon api ( i actually started like two or three weeks ago, on this project, what may not be the best idea to start with a new api). im learning new stuff every time im working on the addon and i feel like that some parts that i did in the very beginning could have been implemented in a better way.

so im really sorry for the buggy versions .

Edit:
i fixed the renaming bug (was a really stupid one) and deployed an update
I think you messed up something with the files. When installing from minion, all the files ended up in the "root" of the directory folder instead of in a Backpack directory. Furthermore, is the .gitignore and related stuff supposed to be included?

Copying the files from the zip to the backpack folder works though. So it's just messed up if using Minion to install it atm.

Ah yes, another thing. It is not possible to see the full item type filter list in 1650x1050, some stuff at the top of it is outside the screen. Basically it cuts off at Itemtype_armor, no idea what's further up in the list.

When trying to click Ok after editing a group (latest update of the addon) I got this:

assertion failed
stack traceback:
[C]: in function 'assert'
user:/AddOns/Backpack/ui/group/GroupOptionsDialog.lua:58: in function 'm_callback'
EsoUI/Libraries/ZO_Dialog/ZO_Dialog.lua:16: in function 'ZO_Dialogs_HandleCallback'
EsoUI/Libraries/ZO_KeybindButton/ZO_KeybindButton.lua:78: in function 'OnClicked'
EsoUI/Libraries/ZO_KeybindButton/ZO_KeybindButton.lua:84: in function 'ZO_KeybindButtonTemplate_OnMouseUp'
9245264028729672156:3: in function '(main chunk)'
A similar error happens when pressing E to Ok. Note: This only happens after changing the name of the group. So basically, it is currently impossible to rename groups it seems.

Would it be possible to sort items the way I want? For example when I am questing, I always have some items I have with me, potions, beverages, soulgems and some other stuff, I would like to put those items in its own container.

And after I have quested, I would like to sort my inventory in whats going to the vendor, deconstrucion, guild store, bank, guild bank etc, maybe even tag those kind of items so that next time I find it, it will go to a pre chosen container and sort itself automatically, and the rest goes to same container for sorting.

Is this anything you would make possible?
