Much Smarter AutoLoot (MSAL) gives you full control over your autoloot. It can loot whatever you want and leave those unwanted behind by simply setting your preferences in the addon's filters. You no longer have to loot everything blindly and endure those marked-as-junk things occupying your bag until they are destroyed or sold for hardly any coins. Please note this addon has nothing to do with the after-looting categorizing but focuses on the automation of pre-processed looting.

This is a rework of Agathorn's Smarter AutoLoot(SAL), a handy and super time-saving addon yet too many version updates in ESO and bugs without maintenance make it kind of unusable now. MSAL fixed known issues, renewed outdated API, and added plenty of new features, making AutoLoot function powerful again.

i18n support is also added, nonetheless, not many languages are available now. Any help in the translation is welcome!

Usage:
  • Settings->Add-Ons->Much Smarter AutoLoot and enable the addon
  • Setup the filters as wanted
  • Enjoy your looting

2.5.22:
  • Update api
  • Fixed a bug that caused the bait filter to disappear

2.5.16:
  • Based on feedback, the value threshold is back after a brief absence. There are some slight differences in its usage from the original, but overall it is more efficient
  • Fine-tuned menu order

2.5.15:
  • Based on feedback, now no longer automatically disable the game's build-in autoloot when the addon is enabled at load time. This unarticulated mechanism may cause some confusion, and a better solution is being sought

2.5.14:
  • Added uncollected set jewelry protection option. When this option is enabled, uncollected set jewelry will be blocked from being looted, leaving it up to the player to decide whether or not to pick it up. This option is to prevent the collection from being 'contaminated' by lower quality jewelry when there are multiple quality jewelry drops (e.g. if you are farming a normal dungeon but only want weapons)

2.5.13:
  • Fixed the problem that the crafting boosters are not autolooted while ESO Plus is activated
  • Adjusted the order of misc filters. Filters that have additional options are now listed in the top position
  • Rolled back the wording of some options to improve consistency

2.5.12:
  • Added crafting-based segmentation options to the intricate filter. Hope this update will help you in your event!
  • Adjusted the order of some options to increase ease of use

2.5.11:
  • Given that lure is not normally considered crafting material but can still be put into the production backpack, MSAL will now also automatically pick up lure when ESO Plus is activated.


2.5.10:
  • Fixed some issues caused by minimum values not being properly removed from the code

2.5.9:
  • Added unresearched item filter support

2.5.8:
  • Added a trash filter. Also, since the value threshold was originally designed to be a flexible way to screen out the trash, I removed it and its associated filters since in-game values are not universally referenced and trash filters are already in place. If you do think there is a need to keep this design, please share it with me in the comments
  • Modify selection Per Quality Threshold to Above Quality Threshold

2.5.7:
  • Added the option to loot only unknown recipes for the recipe filter

2.5.6:
  • Now MSAL will check the player status when first time installed and used. For players who have ESO PLUS and enabled build-in autoloot, MSAL will turn off itself to reduce the confusion of those ESO Plus players who also want to try this addon. This mechanism is a one-time

2.5.5:
  • Slightly adjusted the color of the description text to increase readability

2.5.4:
  • Materials now will be picked up automatically when having eso plus, regardless of what their filters are set to
  • Fixed an issue where weapon and armor trait materials were not correctly identified by the trait material filter

2.5.3:
  • Expand the non-racial style filter from playable racial styles to all racial styles

2.5.2:
  • Now MSAL can print looted currencies to the chat box as well as the looted items

2.5.1:
  • Fixed a problem that the addon description was not displayed correctly in the English environment

2.5.0:
  • Change LibSavedVars to OptionalDependsOn, which will allow those who only have LibAddonMenu-2.0 installed to use MSAL properly, although LSV is still highly recommended

2.4.3:
  • Added a reminder for Close Loot Window in the login chatbox prompt. If some players inadvertently turn on this option and find themselves can't open the loot window normally, maybe this reminder can give them some clues

2.4.2:
  • The built-in autoloot will now be automatically turned off when the addon is enabled. Although it is still allowed to turn on the built-in autoloot again WHILE the addon is enabled, this will obviously cause a lot of confusion, so please try to avoid doing this

2.4.1:
  • Added only looting non-racial style materials support
  • Motified recipes filter into motifs & recipes & plans filter


2.4.0:
  • Solved the problem that looting a container with Close Loot Window enabled would cause the container loot window to close incorrectly. Thanks to Askedal and Baertram for the inspiration
  • This version is the first to solve all the known issues, so although the update is not much (actually still quite a lot), I still marked it as 2.4.0 and regard it as a milestone. The subsequent updates will focus on improvements

2.3.10:
  • Fixed the Trait Materials filter didn't actually work problem.

2.3.9:
  • Added uncollected set items link support.

2.3.8:
  • Modified some of the default values to reduce confusion when starting to use the addon. The materials don't overwhelm you now.
  • Improved some translations.

2.3.7:
  • Added treasure filter support. Most of the treasures are junks somehow, and the rest are valuable junks.

2.3.6:
  • After I almost missed a Deadland Treasure Map in a chest, I added the treasure map support to MSAL.
  • The jewelry materials are now parts of crafting materials, which only consisted of clothing, blacksmithing, and woodworking in the previews version. Go get some platinum ore lad!
  • Split Trait & Style Materials filter into Trait Materials filter and Style Materials filter.


2.3.5:
  • Changed the way to keep the loot window open. Given that double-clicking doesn't work for looting chests, you can now hold down Shift key when you start looting to keep the loot window open

2.3.4:
  • Fixed a potential bug that you cannot normally open the loot window when the Close Loot Window option is enabled. You can now force the loot window to keep opening by double-tapping the interaction key with this option enabled.

2.3.3:
  • Seperated alchemy reagents from crafting materials in material filters

2.3.2:
  • Fixed an issue that enables looting uncollected set items will result in looting everything uncollected whether it is a set piece or not. Bruh such a dumb bug I made :(

2.3.1:
  • For those who don't want to see the login reminder of MSAL, you can now deactivate it in general settings. (Oh please, who don't want to see such a cozy little reminder ):< )

2.3.0:
  • Added uncollected gears looting support
  • The 'Per Quality OR Value' is removed to simplify the usage
  • Added filter classification. You can now find filters you want quickly

2.2.7:
  • Removed the 'only legal' option to reduce confusion. Whether looting booty or not is now completely under the control of the 'Loot Stolen Items' checkbox in the general setting

2.2.6:
  • Added soul gems filter option that you can choose to loot Only Filled gems now. Noticed some other addon still loot empty soul gems from the writ box, which can't be controlled by MSAL.
  • Added jf i18n support

2.2.5:
  • Updated API version. Made some tests for the Hish Isle on the live server and seems MSAL is doing its job well
  • The 'only stolen' option hardly makes any sense so it is removed from the loot filters to simplify the usage. You can still enable the 'Loot Stolen Items' in the general setting to enable looting booty

2.2.4:
  • Added currency check when looting currency. The currency looting will be blocked if it will exceed the currency max cap, even if you set the filter to Always Loot. You can safely set tickets and crystals filters to Always Loot now
  • Also changed the default value of tickets and crystals filters to Always Loot

2.2.3:
  • Slightly improved the flow of enable/disable, remove unneeded code block and logic

2.2.2:
  • The deadlock bug is fixed so the enable/disable option is brought back. You can now enable/disable MSAL in the setting panel easily

2.2.1:
  • Fixed registerForDefaults doesn't work problem. You can now reset Much Smarter AutoLoot to defaults much smarter!
  • Removed the enable option in the setting panel since it may cause a bug that once you disable it you can never enable it again. Still, you can disable MSAL in addons list

  • Added account-wide settings support. LibSavedVars be praised
  • Replacing New() with NewCharacterIdSettings(). MSAL is now character rename safe
  • Simplified the options of the filters which don't need a quality/value threshold
  • Fixed the problem that in some cases the default value threshold is not set to 10 correctly
  • The registerForDefaults isn't working as expected so it was removed temporarily for further inspect

An interesting idea. But Mirri's favor to you drops when you interact with the insects, not when you actually loot them, so to implement the feature you describe would require introducing a new feature module in this plugin, which is not needed for looting.

I recommend you to use another addon that seems to do the job you want more professionally:

Recently I started running with Mirri, and she has this thing about bugs. No matter how discreetly I try to loot them she always seems to catch me ; )

Any chance of adding an option to never loot insects?

A small bug caused the bait filter to disappear, it has been fixed in the latest 2.5.22 version. Sorry for making you search the archives for a version that did not introduce this bug and thank you for your feedback!

Hello, Very helpful addon. One concern/question, what happened to the ability to not loot Fish Bait? I noticed it is under the MISC section of one of the screenshots yet I do not have it in my version, 2.5.21. Has it been eliminated? Hope not I hate going in and retrieving then destroying.

Have reverted to version 2.5.10 which has the Fish Bait choice. Works great.

A bug caused the plugin to not recognize the poison base correctly. This issue has been fixed in the latest version. Thanks for your feedback!
