Faster Travel (Wayshrines menu & Teleporter)  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.2.5
by: marlonbrando, SimonIllyan, XanDDemoX
Faster Travel adds two new tabs to the default world map information/navigation control and suggests approximately the closest known wayshrines to your current quest objectives.

Favourites Category!

Also supports joining Cyrodiil campaigns and Transitus Wayshrines also with quest tracking and tooltip display!

Wayshrines
  • Displays the closest known wayshrine to your quests by marking them with the quest's icon from the map (when it is possible to obtain the data ).
  • Displays quest objective tooltips when the mouse is over quest icons.
  • Fast travel to or recall a recently used wayshrine
  • Fast travel to or recall a wayshrine in the current zone
  • Fast travel to or recall a wayshrine in another zone
  • All fast travels and recalls use the appropriate standard confirmation dialog.

Players
  • Teleport to players in your group
  • Teleport to players on your friends list
  • Teleport to zones using players on your friends list, in your group or guild
  • Teleport to players in any of your guilds

Usage
Use a wayshrine or open the world map.
Right click in the wayshrines menu to add and remove favourites.

Slash Commands
  • /goto zoneName - attempts to teleport to a zone via a player. (zoneName can be partial)
  • /goto @PlayerName - attempts to teleport to a player.
  • /goto CharacterName - attempts to teleport a player using their character name. (only works in a group)
  • /goto group - attempts to teleport to the group leader or a player in your group (if you are the group leader)
  • /goto UnitTag - attempts to teleport to a player using their unit tag (group1, group2 or group3 etc)
  • /agoto aliasNameWithoutSpaces AnyWordsWithSpacesAndSpecialCharacters - adds an alias
  • /agoto aliasNameWithoutSpaces - removes an alias
  • /agoto - lists aliases
  • /f5housing - turns on/off WfD's fix for house previews
For example:
/agoto coast The gold coast
and after: /goto coast
Also, you can save the player name in alias.

Faster Travel on GitHub
Version 2.2.5 (by SimonIllyan 2019-03-17)
- Updated for API 100026 (Wrathstone)
- minor changes to predefined zone aliases

Version 2.2.4 (by Valandil 2018-10-22)
- Bump API for Murkmire.

Version 2.2.3 (by SimonIllyan 2018-09-02)
- /f5housing on|off now reloads UI by itself
- favourites, aliases and the status of /f5housing are now account-wide (shared by all characters),
recents are still per character

Version 2.2.2 (by SimonIllyan 2018-08-24)
- Fixed sorting of zone names beginning with "The" ("The" should be ignored)
- Fixed reverse alphabetical sorting

Version 2.2.1 (by SimonIllyan 2018-08-20)
- Fixed alliance icons in Wayshrines tab
- "/agoto" output is now sorted by value
- When /f5housing is set to off, recents list is not being updated;
as an interim solution it is hidden from view as well.

Version 2.2.0 (by SimonIllyan 2018-08-19)
- /agoto without arguments now lists existing aliases, "/agoto key" removes an alias for "key"
- Added predefined aliases for ambiguous zone names
- Added "/f5housing on|off" command to dynamically enable/disable WfD's fix for house preview.
This fix, unfortunately, has a side effect - cancelling a teleport must be done TWICE.
Some people find it annoying, so now it is possible to switch it off and on;
"/reloadui" is REQUIRED afterwards.

Version 2.1.2 (by Valandil 2018-08-17)

- Under new management (for now at least). Thanks XanDDemoX for your awesome addon. It's all yours if you decide to come back.

I have a little problem and the one from the minion can't tell me the new version of the addon is available. minion detects me version 2.0.5 while it has released version 2.2.5 and if I didn't add the addon to the favorites and any of it went to my email I don't even know

Note from the "maintainer"

This project is in maintenance only which basically means that it will be carried along from release to release but no new features will be implemented. It also means that bug fixing is going to be very slow.

I took this over because I use it and thought that we had a maintainer who was interested in being active but they disappeared shortly after dropping a big chunk of changes into the add-on.

Hi. Please tell me you can somehow remove from the tab player dungeons and other places where it is impossible to teleport, they just clutter the list and make it difficult to find target locations.

The "cancel TP dialog" problem is documented in README. You can fix it using "/f5housing off", at the cost of having house preview options broken again; it seems you can't have both working correctly at the same time.

As for "closest guy", I believe it was never the case - the API does not disclose the precise location of other players, only the zone they're in; so it is just "anyone in target zone", which can result in TP to a different wayshrine in the target zone than you wished for.

how do I set an invidual setting for a favorites tab?
that's when you rewrote the system from this information is set globally with a smaller problem, I will explain:
I have 6 characters and I have a different location for my home as "home" one character is parked in a city, another city mistral and another elden root, and of course these "home" locations are also favorites, but so when the addon is set to global account, so I have a favorite location

Comment: According to me, when the storage of information has changed to a system of storage, it would like to add an addon setting module that would be in setting-addons, because nowadays the addon setting is virtually non-existent

I'm unable to reproduce this problem. Which version of the addon do you have - 2.2.3 or earlier? Is the message repeatable, ie. does it show again when you do the same thing?

Probably in the next version I'll add a switch for that.

Or, maybe, TWO separate categories - Player's Favorites and Character's Favorites? What are your opinions on that?

During August I had more free time, so I put some work into FasterTravel (using 2.1.0 as the basis, but I also taken into account your fixes from 2.1.2). Here is my current version, with some enhancements and several bugfixes (documented in README):
http://hell.pl/szymon/ESO/FasterTravel-2.2.3.zip

I am willing to continue fixing bugs, keeping in sync with new ESO chapters and doing small enhancements to this addon, so you could consider turning over the project to me, or, if you prefer, I'll submit further changes to you.
Happy to give it "back' to you.

I have added you as the project contributor so you can upload new releases. I didn't see any way to change project ownership without going through the site owners again but that should be sufficient for you to upload the zips. You can change the main page if you want to make it clear that you're taking over.

My only request is to keep a detailed changelog, which you probably would do anyway. I've also forked the project on github at https://github.com/cgf1/ESOFasterTravel.git . If you are willing to use that as your base or fork your own so that I can track that, then it might help in the off chance that I want to contribute a bug fix. If you want to use my github I'll add you as a submitter (or whatever they call it). Otherwise, if you want to create your own fork and add me that would be good too.

I have found that keeping things in git really helps but if that's too much work then nevermind.
Thank you. I have already uploaded 2.2.3 and updated the changelog.

I have no experience with github, but I've been using other version control systems (CVS, SVN) so I hope to quickly get the knack of it. I'll get back to you when I'm confident enough not to mess up things.
