FCO StarveStop  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.85
by: Baertram [More]
IMPORTANT CHANGE - Version 0.8.5
This addon depends on the following libraries:
-LibStub (to load the libraries below properly)
-LibAddonMenu-2.0
-LibFoodDrinkBuff
-LibPotionBuff
-LibLoadedAddons

Attention:
You can manually download the standalone libraries from the links above.
-> Be sure to check the extraction of the zip files! They must NOT create another subfolder in AddOns containing the name of the zip archive itsself! Example:
zip filename: LiBStub_v1_4.zip
Extracted to:
AddOns\LibStub_v1_4\LibStub -> WRONG!
Extracted to:
AddOns\LibStub -> CORRECT!

Or use Minion to download them.

You may need to close and restart the game to recognize the new libraries in the addon manager!
[/size]

Enabling addons ingame again
If one of this depending library is missing you cannot enable the addon ingame!
So please check the dependencies of the addon ingame.
The best possible way is to install "Votans Addon List" addon which will seperate the addons from the libraries.
It will show you the dependencies at each addon line, right column, as tooltip for the "red" icon (if an addon is disabled and cannot be enabled). Scroll down to the libraries at the bottom and enable the ones needed for the addon then.

Comments / feedback / "Netiquette"
If you post comments about the addon not working anymore and haven't read and understood what is written here, it is not the addon's nor the developers fault!
Just ask if you do not understand it, but tell me you have read this text! If not I won't answer or just write "Description" as a hint.
Please keep in mind we do this on our free time and are not able to play this nice game if we need to work on the addons.

So:
If you show me you have read this text and ask in a kind way I'll help you for sure.
If not...
Rude answeres/comments will force me to remove the addon totally from pulbic.
This might make other ppl really angry with you and you can be sure I'll make your posts public so they can complain directly towards you.
So please think before you ink and remember: This software is for free. We invest our free time for you.
Think what it was like playing the game without addons and then rethink your text before you write
You got no rights to force me to do anything here Many thanks, I appreciate your help and understanding.

Why do I do this
This change is needed to reduce maintaining time of all the 30+ addons I need to keep updated.
Each patch or change of a library will need me to update ALL addons even if only the libraries need an update Excahnging the librarie folders within the adodn, backing things up, testing them, building the ZIP files and write changelog here needs me to invest about 5-10 minutes for EACH addon
By removingg the libraries and let you install them as standalone "addon" I'm not forced to update the addons if the libraries change. This will save me hours of work!

Please support me with this, install the libraries as standalone once via e.g. Minion and your addons will be set to work normally again + you gain the benefit to be able to update the libraries via Minion automatically as they are updated, and all addons will recognize it automatically without having you to need to wait for an update of each/or at least one addon containing the new library files.
+ the folder size of your AddOns folder decreases a lot if the libraries only need to be "ONCE" in the folder, and not also in each subfolder of the addons.!
+ I might use the gained time to work on fixing addons or adding new features as well.

Explanations:

Standalone library
"Not included" in other addons zip files.
You need to download the zip file of the "library" and install it alone, as if it would be a whole addon.
You got the library then in your AddOns folder like AddOns\LibStub (like an addon is shown the same way, e.g. AddOns\FCOItemSaver).

You need to close the game! If you install the standalone libraries with the game started they are not recognized properly. So close the game client or restart it before/after the standlaone libraries are installed.

Benefits:
For me:
More time to play the game again and maybe maintain the addons better as I do not need to update each time if the library changes and can focus on the needed stuff.
-> So you might benefit fom it as well

For you:
You will be automatically able to update the libraries as standalone versions via Minion e.g. and are also up2date all the time.
Depending addons will recognize it automatically and need no addon update if simply the library needed an update.

Library
Libraries are code line which can be re-used in other code lines (addons e.g.). The LibAddonMenu-2.0 is for example a library which provides the standard UI and controls for the ingame settings so adodns are able to provide these settings (checkboxes, dropdown, texts, buttons) for you.

Included libraries were only included into the addons to make life easier for you, the users, in the beginning of ESO. And there was a kind of bug which did not allow standalone libraries to be used properly, which got fixed meanwhile.

Loading of libraries
The game assures via the library LibStub that libraries (included in other addons or standalone versions) will only load the newest version.
So if a standalone library is loaded with the highest/newest version, the included libraries in other addons won't be loaded again. One could even strip them from the other addons as well to fullfill the purpose of a "library": Reusable code for several other code (addons).

The game will load addons + libraries in the following order:
Unsorted loading of ALL folders which are inside the folder AddOns.
It checks the folders if there are txt files in.
It reads the txt files and check sif in there is specified if this folder is DependendOn or OptionallyDependendOn any other folder (addon, library).
If dependencies are found it will load the dependencies first, and then the addon/library which depends on them.

So as basically every library is depended on LibStub the game will load the folder LibStub (standalone library) first, or LibStub from any of the subfolders of an addon (included librray) if not found as standalone.

The most important thing is the txt file (called: manifest) which gives the information about version, api version it was build for (will be compared ingame with the game's api version and if the version in the TXt is lower than ingame the addon/library will be "disabled" in the ingame addon manager until you enable the checkbox "Allow out of date addons"!), dependencies of the addon/library.

Conclusion
If you understand this, what libraries are, how they work, read the description of addons properly: You will have no trouble in the future.

If you do not want to read, just press buttons to update/auto update everything without thinking, you do not want to understand/learn how eso addons work, but only use them: You might get in trouble in the future. But I bet there are other addons out there which fullfill your needs then (if they will not be changed to use standalone libraries as well, which might happen earlier then you think ).

Thanks for your support.

FCO StarveStop

Application is Fast API ready

This addon will remind you to eat/drink your food buff.
And it is able to remind you to drink a potion.

It is able to do this by help of a customizable text(s) and/or an icon, combined with a possible sound alert!

Features
-Setup different texts for food / drinks / potions
-Setup the icon's texture, size and position for food & drinks, or potions
-Drag&Drop the icon with the left mouse button
-Hide the icon with the right mouse button
-Icon will be hidden if you eat/drink food buff / potion
-Icon will be shown if your food buff fades out / if your potion's buff fades out and your potions cooldown is gone
-Play sound alert (choose from > 600 different ingame sounds) as the warning appears
-Repeat the sound up to 10 times with a delay from 250ms to 10s
-Show the text/icon alert as you zone/reloadui
-Show a warning if your active food buff will expire soon (you can choose the minutes before expiration and the seconds to repeat the warning)
-Automatically switch to a food buff quickslot that you've chosen and after you've used your food buff switch back to the previous quickslot, or switch to a predefined quickslot (depending on your current situation)
-You can setup a timer which checks for your buff food every n seconds
-Setup the timer to only check for your food buff if you are:
In a PvP/PvE region
In a group/raid group
In a delve/a public dungeon/a group dungeon/a raid dungeon
Or all of the above mentioned.

-Automatically switch your quickslot to a pre-defined slot if your food buff is not active, the checkruns, and you are out of combat (will switch back to your previously active quickslot automatically if you enter combat)
-Differentiate the automatic quickslot switch between PvE and PvP (inside AvA region) areas
-Differenmtiate the automatic quickslot switch between normal quest areas, delves, public dungeons, group dungeons and raid dungeons
-Enable the automatic quickslot switch even if your food buff is active: This way you can let the addon switch your quickslots to a chosen one if you enter/leave combat, and again you can choose different slots for PvE and PvP.
-Choose the quickslot from a dropdown with your current quickslot's item name, item quality color, item count in [ ], item level so you do not have to open your quickslots and see which item is located in what slot and what is the item like

Example:
In PvP you could switch to a tripod if you enter combat and to a stamina potion if you leave combat (longer hiding/running)
In PvE you could switch to a food buff if you are out of combat, and to a magicka+crit potion if you enter combat

-Or let the addon remember the currently used quickslot if you enter combat and switch bck to this quickslot if you leave combat again

Support for other addons:
AutoSlotSwitch (since version 0.54)

Many thanks to:
Wandamey for french translation assistance

Please report bugs or request features via the bugs/features panel as I'm not reading the comments of all addons!
Thank you

Wanna help me out with new food/drink buffs?
If you happen to see that new food/drink buffs appear in the game or your food reminder icon is not disappearing after you drink/eat something:
Check which food/drink you got active at the moment or cook/brew/get the new ones.
If you want to add them to the addon, you can support me by doing the following:

1. Eat/drink the new food/drink -> it should be shown as a buff on your character now
2. Open the chat and write the following into the chat text entry, followed by the RETURN key:
Code:
/script FCOStarveStop.debugActiveBuffs()
3. Check your active buffs that are listed in the chat window and watch out for the food/drink buff.
Tell me the number after the ", AbilityId: " string, e.g. 89955
Note this number down and tell it to me please.

Repeat this for each new food/drink you want to add to the addon.

To check if the abilityId that you noted down was the correct one you can use this function ingame.
Tpye this into the chat's textbox and press RETURN:
Code:
FCOStarveStop.debugAbility(abilityId)
Replace "abilityId" with the number that you have noted for me, e.g. 89955
Code:
FCOStarveStop.debugAbility(89955)
You'll see the popup tooltip for this food/drink now if you got the correct abilitId. if you got the wrong abilityId it'll either show nothing (only a non-functional tooltip tetxure) or it'll show you some other ability information, like an ability that exists in the game...)

I have installed libPotionBuff, it is enabled. I tried running just with all my Libraries enabled, same thing. I also tried with just the pre-reqs libaries, same error.

EDIT: Found it. In the LibPotionBuff.txt, you have "libs\LibPotionBuff\LibPotionBuff.lua" as the file location and the lua is actually sitting in the root.

Temporary fix:
Make the LibPotionBuff.txt line 7 and 8 (in that Library folder, not FCO StarveStop) read as:
Code:
LibStub\LibStub.lua
LibPotionBuff.lua

Can't find library

I get this error on load:

Code:
user:/AddOns/FCOStarveStop/FCOStarveStop.lua:26: Cannot find a library instance of "LibPotionBuff".
stack traceback:
user:/AddOns/LibVotansAddonList/libs/LibStub/LibStub.lua:29: in function 'LibStub:GetLibrary'
<Locals> self = tbl, major = "LibPotionBuff" </Locals>
user:/AddOns/FCOStarveStop/FCOStarveStop.lua:26: in function '(main chunk)'
<Locals> FCOSS = tbl, LIBLA = tbl, libFDB = tbl </Locals>

Just found out that I broke the potion alert as I had added libfoodDrinkBuff. Will fix it soon.

Edit:
Fixed and implemented new library for it:
LibPotionBuff

It seems you've identified another shortcoming of the game that someone else can work to eliminate. :-)

Yep, ther eis not such a function and one would need to rely on a library that provides the map string names where one could build a table with the desired town string names and then compare them. But I cannot spend that time on a list for it sorry.
Or one could try another attempt by checking the current zones POIs and if there is a vendor POI assume it's a city (which will sometimes make your food buff reminder fail in overland if theere is walking a mobile vendor^^).
Even this approach is someway difficult and I never used map nor poi functions before so I would need time to read and test which I actually don't have. Sorry.

Well, thanks for doing what was practical. Between the dedicated guild home and my own with storage chests, I seem to spend more time in some player home or another than I do in towns, so this will be useful. It's a shame that ESO's API lacks a simple boolean function call like isInTown() that would make this more complete.

Re: Exceptions for cities and player homes

Player homes could be detected but cities, no way without having to build a manual list of cities in the game and check the map name if the subzone is one of these.
I won't take the effort for the citites, sorry.
Will check if the player home detection from one of my other addons (FCOItemSaver) is able to help and provide an option then.

The LUI addon dev is working on something. If he provides me a list of the changed names I could add them, yes.

Do you use the addon LUI? If so the addon is the reason. This food buff should be recognized normally but the addon changes the name of food buffs like "Max health & magicka" to "Max health & max magicka"...

In this case it might change the name from "Increases max life & magicka" to "Increases max life and max magicka".
Cuz the normal text is already recognized and works fine for me.
That is correct, using LUI. Can you add that string then any food buff that it changes to the generic name is covered as well?

Addon is great though, loving this, FCOItemSaver and FCO Craft Filter!
I guess I can add the group check. Healer check is not reliable as everyone could set its group role to healer but do no healing at all If I find the time I'll add it.
