Loot Log  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.1.9
by: code65536 [More]
This addon will display in the chat window the items that you and your group members have looted.

Why use Loot Log? Isn't this already a feature of other addons?

Yes, there are a number of addons that already include this feature or something similar to it.

This addon is for people who just want a standalone no-frills group loot logging feature without any unwanted baggage. This is a tiny addon (a mere couple of kilobytes) with virtually zero footprint.

Despite its simplicity and size, Loot Log has some useful features, some of which are not found in other addons:
  • Items are shown as clickable links.
  • The traits of gear items are displayed in the log, so there is no need to inspect links to determine their traits.
  • Character names are shown as clickable links, to make it easier to contact someone to arrange trades, offer congratulations, etc.

Which items are shown?

Loot Log will only show notable items: specifically, set items of any color quality, consumables or trophies of blue quality or better (e.g., motifs, recipes, and treasure maps), and any item of purple quality or better.

This can be overridden by typing /lootlog verbose into the chat window. This command will toggle on or off verbose mode, which will log all items. (This is not recommended, however, as your chat can become quite cluttered.)

    • Added new options, accessed via slash commands, to suppress the logging of your own loot and/or your group members' loot
    • The old verbosity toggle, along with the newly-added options, will now persist as installation-wide saved settings

Specific Set

Would be nice to only receive message of a specific set (e.g. Litch set items only). Maybe add a config menu where you can select the a number of sets.

The only green items that should be notified are set items. And set items are always notified because people farming for set gear don't care about the color quality as upgrading that is trivially easy.
Ahhhh, gotcha. I guess I wasn't paying attention well enough. That's not so bad, I suppose. Thanks for the quick response.

Question Change Notifications Of Item Quality

This is fantastic information! Thanks very much for posting it. As with Nudel, I too am off to reconfigure some addons!

I'd also like to make a feature request if possible.
The LootDrop addon is able to output the MM price of looted items to chat. Is there any chance of getting that functionality here? (Probably as an option for those who don't want to see it.)
Thanks!

Great addon! Thank you so much!
And it will be really great to add option to select specific tab (group) for it! Check box in tab options will be nice.
Thirded! This would be so great.
While it's not ideal, you can customize it yourself within the LUA file. Go to where your addons are stored and find the LootLog folder (default looks something like C:\Users\User\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\LootLog) and open the LootLog.LUA file in notepad. Towards the bottom, you will see a line of code that contains CHAT_CATEGORY_SYSTEM . Change the SYSTEM part to whatever chat category you would prefer to use. (You can find a list of the possible categories here: http://wiki.esoui.com/Globals#ChatChannelCategories .) Save the file once you've made the change.

You will essentially be hijacking one of the existing channels to serve a second purpose of reporting loot, but it will continue serving its original function as well. I find it is helpful to put it under the PARTY category, since you generally want it reporting in the same tab that you have the group chat enabled. Whichever category you do choose to use, just enable/disable that corresponding category for the appropriate chat tabs, and it will only show up where you want it.

Cheers!

Would be great if it also worked for filleting fish, to let me know when I loot Perfect Roe.

Is it possible that the log just shows in a specific chat window? It spams all my other channels.

Colors and such

Thanks for the amazing add-on! Was just curious if you could make it where the colors for the names are the same, or at least give us the option to have that setting? And also remove the → signs and put the player names at the beginning? Just a thought, that's what I'd prefer at least. I'm not very good with code so I can't do it myself.
