Votan's Darker Nights  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.1.0
by: votan [More]
DependenciesDescription
It makes in-game nights much darker. The effect is adjustable for new moon and full moon nights.
There is a slash command /togglenight and a key-bind to include or exclude a zone from been affected.

The exception list is limited. There are a lot tunnels and houses, which should be excluded, but can't because they have not an own (sub-)zone.
You may have to adjust a lot zones entering the first time. But it is account-wide.
Dungeons are excluded by default, but can be included again.

I recommend Deshaan at night

The gamma should reset to normal on logout and exit. But if you crash, the logon screen may be darken aswell.

nope. The in-game time is a calculated time. Not from API. Therefore the addon does not know, what "fake" time it is.

This or just a simple global toggle for every zone to turn it on/off when needed. I usually run it on all the time as it's amazing but sometimes it just might get too dark and have to turn it off for a while. The problem is that I forgot to turn it on again when I leave the zone

Anyways. Thanks for the addon.

Yes. I think it will be another slash command.

Votan deserves all the credit for this addon, but I have been working on a proposed enhancement to do much of what you ask. I just don't know the process for handing my code off for review and consideration. [edit]I should point out that at 6am (and 6pm) the sun is still very much up in the sky, and your surroundings have that high contrast typical of direct sunlight. We can't control that. At that time of day, darkening your surroundings to the extreme will just look weird. You can preview what you're asking for by simply waiting for 6am and then (temporarily) dragging the existing daytime gamma slider to the left. Example image [/edit]

Glad to hear that you are working on that addon ! And thank you for answering my question 2 !
Best of luck

Any progress on the "Request: Darker Nights - Progressive gamma adjustments from dusk til dawn"

Thanks !!
This addon is the result of that request.
Thanks for the quick reply I really value your time.
I am sorry I miss understood the request for something I was thinking what would be cool if added.
I read all the comments to make sure not to ask a question that was asked before.

Well I have two questions

1. By using the Clock - Tamriel Standard Time addon in ESO the night time graphics start around 9:30 pm and only lasts till around 2:30 am. Is it possible to extend the period of the night till 6 am using that addon or in some way in settings. I know its not possible to change the in game time settings of night and day, but could Your addon compensate and keep the night gamma till 6 am in game?

2. I dont quite understand the wording in settings for:

"Daylight/Night Transition Factor": As higher as longer daylight and shorter night gamma is used. This has no effect to the game's built in day cycle.

What does that mean? does that setting do?

Thanks once again keep up the good work! I advertise your addons any chance I get !

This mod appears to be creating a bug with weapon appearances where some weapons (particularly frequent with shields, 2handers) go invisible and others display the wrong weapon. It doesn't matter if you have an outfit turned off or not, it happens.

Not sure why this mod might impact that, but uninstalling it fixed this issue.
