Foundry Tactical Combat (FTC) - Elsweyr  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.02
by: Rhyono [More]
A continuation of Atropos' Foundry Tactical Combat. This is an updated version of Demiknight's patch. The change log has more info, main changes below:

Added the option to show @names in place of character names when in a group (shown in the attached image) or when targeting someone.

Added a keybind for refreshing the group frame. Despite the addon's attempts to the contrary, sometimes it will fail to load a group member(s). This will force an unobtrusive refresh so that you don't have to /reloadui to fix it.

Added the ability to disable healing logs/text out of combat or at all times. Individual options for combat log and scrolling text.

decay2 updated buff tracking.

FTC no longer includes LibMsgWin so it may have been a remnant when you updated.

Hey fam! I have figured out how to resolve this issue for anyone who is interested in restoring their copy of FTC! LibMsgWin-1.0 is a pretty useful addon library that a lot of addon authors will pack in along with their addons to make sure that their addons work and have everything it was built to use.

Do a search using CTRL+F and search for "LibMsgWin" - now everything in your addons folder with that name in the title of a file should show up. Make sure you are copying over the most recent version of both library files (LibMsgWin-1.0.lua and LibMsgWin-1.0.txt versions 1.0 r9) and replace any instance of those files.

Now FTC will work without problems. <3
Fixed. It appeared to be the copy in the FTC folder itself that needed updating because I have it in my main addons directory as well and that copy was the updated version...

You don't need to do that. Install it on its own and it will automatically be chosen over those other copies due to the higher version number.
I think it's good that you replied but I literally just did this on my PC and it was the ONLY thing that fixed this particular issue. I installed the latest LibMsgWin-1.0 version manually (over 10 times) and then again through Minion - always the same error as a result. My client doesn't like to use the latest version of this library until I replace all other copies of it in my addons directory - even though it should automatically choose the latest version, I agree! It is one of the stranger issues I have seen so far..

I verified this was the case after the author category of the library was not updating in the addon menu. Even after installing the latest LibMsgWin-1.0 (version 1.0 r9) the category of authors for the library showed as 'By: Circonian' only.. the latest version clearly says 'By: Circonian, sirinsidiator'. At that point I knew my addons were not recognising the latest LibMsgWin and that's what gave it away and prompted me to replace all copies of it. Then the error stopped and I have no problems.

Hey fam! I have figured out how to resolve this issue for anyone who is interested in restoring their copy of FTC! LibMsgWin-1.0 is a pretty useful addon library that a lot of addon authors will pack in along with their addons to make sure that their addons work and have everything it was built to use.

A lot of users of FTC are able to fix their copy of FTC simply by updating LibMsgWin-1.0, but this is only because their personal lists of addons do not include other copies of LibMsgWin-1.0 that might overwrite the most up to date copy they are installing. Since this particular library is so popular, many authors will include it as a resource within an extra folder in their addon's directory named 'libs', 'lib', or just simply named after whatever addon they are including (LibMsgWin-1.0 in this case). This extra copy is sometimes outdated and can overwrite the original LibMsgWin-1.0 data (effectively making it use outdated data even though you have just installed the latest copy). In rare cases such as mine the client may try to use the bundled copy other addons are providing.

To fix this once and for all you must find ALL copies of these resource files (all copies of LibMsgWin-1.0 in your addons directories) and then replace them with the most recent .lua and .txt files for LibMsgWin-1.0 (which is 1.0 r9). A few commonly download addons that do this that you should look out for are:
-AwesomeEvents
-MailLooter
-SaveMyBuild

These addons all have a built-in copy of LibMsgWin that might adversely affect loading.

Download the most recent copy of the library directly here and then replace the original library files with that. Then make sure you also do a text search within you addon's directory, and proceed to replace any LibMsgWin-1.0 files that you find there. Navigate to your addon's folder..

Code:
%USERNAME%\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns
Do a search using CTRL+F and search for "LibMsgWin" - now everything in your addons folder with that name in the title of a file should show up. Make sure you are copying over the most recent version of both library files (LibMsgWin-1.0.lua and LibMsgWin-1.0.txt versions 1.0 r9) and replace any instance of those files.

Now FTC will work without problems. <3

LibMsgWin updated to 1.0_r9 in the mean time: https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info802-LibMsgWin.html

Things are looking up, now I get a ui error in the awesomeguildstore add on. But I'll report that there.

The updated LibMsgWin fixed FTC!

I've got Minion, thanks.

## APIVersion: 100026 100027

I believe you when you say it should work, there's just something else in add-ons out of whack so it doesn't work (for me). Even deleted the FTC folder in the add-ons directory and re-extracted the zip file. Same result.

I see LibMsgWin-1.0 requires LibStub which shows as red further down, so perhaps that's the culprit.
The latest LibStub I can find is ## APIVersion: 100025 100026

  1. Download from ESOUI
  2. Extract
  3. Open lib folder
  4. Open LibMsgWin-1.0 folder
  5. Open LibMsgWin-1.0.txt
  6. View the APIVersion: it contains 100027
  7. Now follow the same steps in your addons folder

Have disabled all add-ons, still the add-on screen loads as black with the 'allow outdated add-ons' checked.
When it works, FTC still shows as outdated: see https://www.dropbox.com/s/5jwayzwx27...d-ons.jpg?dl=0

Okay, the black screen may have its source elsewhere. I do see the add-ons in the login screen, but as soon as I logged in, it's black... that is, if I set 'allow outdated add-ons'. Without that setting, the add-ons show up, but all of them, including the new updated ones show as outdated then.

Something affects the chat window and mail as well, as with 'allow outdated add-ons' disabled, the chat and mail window are empty.

It's the only library that shows as red, the add-ons screen, when it works, shows Dependency next to FTC.
