Urich's Skill Point Finder  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 6.3.0
by: fritzOSU03, Onigar, tim99, yachoor
Description
Have you ever been in a situation where you need more skill points but you have no idea where to get them? Well today is your lucky day! Urich's Skill Point Finder provides a graphical interface showing all of the skill points you have (and haven't) earned throughout the entire game. You can show or hide the window by binding a hotkey or by entering the slash command. Slash command information is below.

Please Note
From Version 5.1.0 you need to separately install: LibTableFunctions-1.0 and LibAddonMenu-2.0

Localization
Localization for Russian, German, French, and Japanese is included. I speak only English so I am very sorry if a translation is incorrect. My only available source was Google Translate. Please message me if you see a translation that can be improved or shortened where space is an issue. Also feel free to provide a complete translation for another language if you would like to see it added to a future update.

Slash Commands
  • /uspf - Show or hide the USPF window.
  • /uspf help - Display help information in the chat window.
Known Issues/Complications
  1. The Folium Discognitum is a scroll that awards two skill points on use. Because the Folium is a scroll and not a book, it is not possible to determine if if you have earned those points besides comparing the number of earned skill points with the number of expected skill points + 2. There is an override in the settings menu if this information is not correct for your character.
  2. There are skill points awarded upon completion of tutorial quests for Morrowind and following chapters characters. If you skip the quest you'll get the skill point but the addon will not be able to determine that. There are override options in the settings menu for these skill points if this information is not correct for your character.

Do you have USPF/lang/strings.lua file? For some reason minion sometimes fails to unpack whole addon (I suspect incomplete downloads). Try reinstalling if it's missing
Yes, that appeared to be the case. I deleted the folder and re-installed via Minion RIGHT before i read this (i had already done the lib-addons) and that fixed it.

So, i think you are right in that Minion didnt unpack it.
Working now and its great!!

Thank you!

Can we please reorder the Group Dungeon Skillpoints list to mirror that of the ingame queue?

The skill point is acquired during the tutorial of the chapter. It can not be earned afterwards and therefore only one of them can be earned. If your character is older than Morrowind it didn't get one at all.

It may happen that your character has got the skill point but the Skill Point Finder is unable to detect it even though you know you played the chapter tutorial with that particular character. In this case there is an option in the addon's settings menu to manually add the info.

Edit: A better explanation can actually be found in the addon description:

There are skill points awarded upon completion of tutorial quests for Morrowind and following chapters characters. If you skip the quest you'll get the skill point but the addon will not be able to determine that. There are override options in the settings menu for these skill points if this information is not correct for your character.

Hey, this addon is an amazing tool, i love it.

Just a small request tho, could you add an option for the feature below to be optionnal please ?

Code:
Version 6.1.0 - 2021-06-30

Added Fancy-pants tooltips that display condensed info for all the characters (remosito)

While i understand why some like it, i personally think it flood us with too much informations that, anyway, we can get with the dropdown menu for character selection.

Thanks in advance

I think you can remove formatting and just use the name:
Code:
USPF.sVar.charInfo[i] = {charId = id, charName = name,}
i tried this - while it fixed the names, it displayed ^Fx for female characters and ^Mx for male characters, after the name.

we figured out another bandaid fix that works by forcing the string lowercase instead. thank you for the help!

Unfortunately I didn't get any reply from original authors, so I had to publish updated version seperately:
Urich's Skill Point Finder Updated

Now you can use minion to manage updates again, enjoy

Hey thanks for completing it. Just out of curiosity: Did you play the questline on the PTS or how did you determine the achievements and quest ids for the skill points?
Yeah, spent most of the saturday doing the quest line on PTS and checking which of the quests give the skill point.
Then I could use GetCompletedQuestInfo to confirm quest ids and zgoo addon for achievements info
Also created 2 characters to complete and get id of the tutorial quest and check override
