Automatically Accept Quests
Version: 1.9
by: marlonbrando [More]
Adds an extra option to quest providers which will cause future visits to be automatically accepted with one click. Quest turn-ins will also be one-click.
2019-11-11 (v1.9)

- Fix long-standing bug which caused EVERY quest to be automatically accepted. Sheesh. It wasn't supposed to work that way.

- Change the way that you're notified about whether to automatically complete a quest. Display a dialog after quest acceptance. I just couldn't make the previous way work reliably.

2019-09-21 (v1.8)

- Bump API version for Dragonhold.

2019-09-08 (v1.7)

- Try again to fix issue where dialog would sometimes appear inappropriately.

2019-09-01 (v1.6)

- Fix issue where dialog would sometimes appear inappropriately.

2019-08-13 (v1.5)

- Bump api version for Scalebreaker.

- Add functionality for terminating automatic acceptance by right clicking in quest menu.

- Add an "Are you sure?" when clicking to avoid accidental clicks.

2019-05-20 (v1.4)

- Bump api version for Elsewyr.

2019-03-19 (v1.3)

- Bump api version for Wrathstone.

2018-10-22 (v1.2)

- Bump api version for Murkmire.

2018-08-13 (v1.1)

- Bump api version for Wolfhunter.

Anything knowna bout this already? If not I'll try to reproduce it and send you the error message here.
I really do need details to fix bugs. I don't see any issues when sharing quests.

Please post a screen dump of the error and also report the version of AAQ you're running as seen from the AddOns screen.

Edit 9/9: Your latest update worked =) At least it did for me.

Doesn't seem to have worked, unfortunately =/

(The complicated combo for 'cancel' is due to keyboard macro keys xD Not because I'm paranoid about accidentally cancelling stuff.)

Got around it by using my set hotkey for 'third dialogue option', and as this AddOn works for daily quests but apparently not daily writ quests (which was what I wanted xD) I've decided to go for another AddOn instead, but I thought you might want to look into that potential issue.
Thanks for reporting this. I noticed the problem myself and had a fix sitting in my sandbox but forgot to release it. Doh. There is a new version now.

I specifically excluded writs from this addon because I use Daily Writ Creator. I actually got the inspiration for this addon from the way it handles writ acceptance.

As far as testing it goes, PTS template characters are your friend. There's boxes full of master writs there.
Yep, PTS is great for this. But let me know if you want to look into this on live. If you are on the NA server, I can send you a few master writs for testing purposes. Just send me your @ name.

Would it be possible to get this working for the dialog that pops up when you activate a master writ? The dialog is basically identical to the PVP mission board dialog in your screenshot: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2KCfRbFAAKqbYrZM9

I tried removing your "writ" filter code but that doesn't seem to be the issue, it just doesn't seem to fire the EVENT_CHATTER_BEGIN event that you are hooking.
I don't do writs very often. Seems like this would be difficult to test., though I'd have to go through multiple writs.

Doesn't Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter already do this and much more?

That's a big limitation right now. There is no way to do this short of editing the AAQ.lua file in the SavedVariables folder. I need to add an interface to clear this.

I would love this though; it'd be great for the repeatable quests from the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood.

But to cover all possible uses of this feature, why not create a setting and let the player choose whether he really wants to play that way or let himself make the choices of each quest (when they exist) and automatically accept all others more "simple" quests?

I hope I have been able to explain it clearly.
Yep. I was thinking along the same lines. I'm sure there will be cases that won't be manageable with those rules but maybe that will get most of them.

Yes, exactly that.
Thank you.
It won't be perfect because, for some quests, you have to make choices. I'm not sure if it's possible to detect those although I guess a "always accept first choice" is possible.
