DESCRIPTION
This addon includes many camera features to enhance the game experience.
Gain total control and enjoy all the world using the camera settings you want depending on what you do.
  • Control!
    ⋅ Add some useful bindings to control the camera: shoulder swap, center, …
  • Don't change!
    ⋅ Prevent the camera change that occurs on interactions: chatting, craft stations, style station, lockpicking, …
  • Do change!
    ⋅ Replace the camera change for each interaction type with a custom one,
    ⋅ Configure your own camera change on “events”: mounting, stealth, combat, draw/sheath weapon, werewolf.
  • Enjoy!
    ⋅ For each interaction and event, you can choose to switch to first or third person, and modify the camera position, zoom and field of view.

BINDINGS

  • Prevent any camera change on interactions : talking to NPCs, using craft stations, lockpicking, reading, siege.
    That really is better for immersion not to change the camera on each interaction! You can't imagine.
    For example, when you talk with someone, the camera won't focus on them.
    (I recommand to allow the camera change for “Stations”, anyway, that's strange to craft without moving.)
  • Use your own camera settings when in interactions.

  • Automatically change any of your camera settings when "events" occur: chatting, mounting, in stealth, wielding weapons, in combat, in werewolf form.
  • Preset can be picked between: None / Center camera on 3rd person / Switch to 1st person / Switch to 3rd person / Custom (Do what you want).
  • There are also some specific parameters for the events: use combat to trigger draw weapon, delay to restore for combat, keep minimal distance while in werewolf…

I think what happens is both Sneak and Invisibility are counted as Stealthy, and since I have restore Preferred OFF, it returns to the "Stealthy" state of Sneak when the Invisibility wears off. If restore Preferred is ON, it works correctly.
This is what happens:
1. crouch
2. heavy attack kill enemy which puts me into invisibility before it could return to the previous non-Stealthy camera
3. invisibility wears off and it puts me into the previous camera, which was the Stealthy camera from crouching

Managed to recreate it with invisibility potion:
1. crouch
2. exit crouch and before it could go back to previous camera quickly use invisibility potion
3. wait for it to wear off, when it wears off, it goes "back" to Stealthy (so basically stays in it) since I was in Stealthy beforehand (because of crouching)

A solution to this would be if you could differentiate between crouch stealthy and invisible stealthy but I highly doubt the game makes a difference between them.

Ok, so… after some investigation, I'm able to reproduce the issue :
I've got no issue with the “Ride on” event, but somehow the “Ride off” event is not triggered.
This happens only when using a 1st person cam for the ride, it seems to be ok when staying in 3rd person.
Funny thing is that if you try to crouch while on mount, it will trigger the “Ride off” correctly.

I'll be looking into it.

I found exactly what was the issue :
When riding in 1st person, it takes some time (~500ms) to unmount.
Why? Because it waits for the horse to disappear before the game sends the “not mouting” state.
In third person, it send the “not mounting” state as soon as we press the key to unmount.
As this seems to be game-related, I can't do anything about that delay.
Using the crouch key triggers the unmount immediatly, but might break immersion a little.
( If you consider that a horse appearing and disappearing doesn't break the immersion… )

So now, i'm investigating 2 different solutions:
- Waiting for the correct feedback from the game (with the ~500ms delay if in 1st person),
- Ignoring the game feedback, trigger the camera change immediatly, and hope it doesn't break anything…
I think I'll go with the 2nd solution.

Sorry to hear about that.
I managed to somehow get the issue when modifying my settings to match yours.
But then, since I reloaded the UI, I'm not able to get the issue again.
Just to be sure, you are aware that using skills doesn't trigger the "drawing" event ?

You can use the command /ntcam_debug to toggle the debugging output in chat.
It can help to understand what happens !
I wonder what happens when it “stops working” !

Hey there.

I was wondering if I was doing something wrong, as I can't seem to get events to trigger changes most of the time.

Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. Sometimes it will work at the start of a session, but after it stops it never seems to work again for that session.

I use a preferred setting of 1st person, have the setting set to "Restore preferred".

Hey,

I tinkered around with the addon, even reset my savedvars and then I realized that I'm an idiot. Apparently the farther you zoom out, the less effect sprinting has on FOV. Mystery solved, I guess...

Edit:
I'm working on it, I'm gonna add new options for "alternate" values of FOV and distance.
The preferred/alternate values will be togglable by keybinds.

Strange behaviour (rare)

Hi,

If I play for a longer time sometimes this weird thing happens: I use my 3rd static camera (to increase FOV) then switch back to the preferred camera (the FOV setting stays this way) and then talk to an NPC, upon exiting the dialogue it goes into the 1st static camera (forced first person, for mounts if I feel like it) instead of going to the preferred camera.
I have no idea why this happens and I can't reliably reproduce it. It only happend a couple times so far. Might have something to do with the most recent update, idk. Can't remember experiencing it before.

Tbh I only use the static cameras to change the FOV and to force camera distance to 0, then I activate preferred camera immediately, so that it resets to the normal camera settings for dialogue and such.

edit: I just realized that since the latest update, using preferred camera DOES reset the FOV too

Thanks for your feedback on this.
That's my bad. It's because I forgot (only on this addon) to remove the call of “LibStub”…
It used to be included in LibAddonMenu2.0 and has been removed in the last version 2.0r31.
( I guess you updated LAM2 )
... I'll upload a new version soon to correct this.

By the way, I wasn't getting the error because I installed a copy of LibStub for a few "old" addons.
You might want to do the same to correct the issue for addons that are not actively updated.
