PinAutoResizer
Version: 2022.06.10
by: Masteroshi430 [More]
PinAutoResizer resizes your map pins when you zoom to follow the map size.
- Main Map : Less messy look with smaller wayshrines on the Tamriel map
- Main Map : Smaller map pins on every map which become bigger as you zoom
- Disabled for all AVA zones except Imperial City Sewers
- Works on minimaps:
- MiniMap by Fyrakin
- Votan's MiniMap (disabled when the minimap is active because Votan's MiniMap already resizes pins according to zoom)
(more to come)
2022.06.10
- Added a test against nil to avoid an occasional error appearing since the High Isle update

2022.05.17
- Do not resize dragon pins so they won't blink when moving

2022.05.15-2
- Now compatible with Votan's Minimap

2022.05.15
- Bugfix: The addon throwed error without MiniMap by Fyrakin installed

2022.05.14
- Refactor
- Now works on MiniMap by Fyrakin
- Disabled for all AVA zones except Imperial City Sewers

2022.05.12
- Reverted the previous workaround

2022.05.12
- Avoid interference with Votan's Minimap

2022.05.10
- Initial release

I did notice the padding that's what I added I just can't be sure it is super exact.

That is very polite and tactful, I appreciate that.

Warning: Spoiler

I apologize it isn't something I can control much after a decade but I am normally not overwhelmed just impatient. I will make a small effort to be more forgiving in the future.

Yes they are but the ! icons don't have the vertical padding the other icons have which cause them to appear bigger than the others. This didn't matter because your users could resize the pins with the settings but when using this addon of mine (which doesn't alter your code but only resizes pins according to zoom level) then these ! icons appear bigger.
While I agree that the user request is a bit nit-picky, having icons displayed approximately the same size at the same setting would avoid your users resizing the quest icon each time they choose or move from that ! icon.

I checked the .dds files and the icons are both 64x64. I have basic hardware (father of 5) that is 1920 x 1080 (60hz and it's not 4k) that cost like 150$ 10 years ago.

I was trying to get clearer vision and I mentioned that while I was outside the building looking at different fonts on the signs for the buildings that some letters were more clear, he explained that he can only do the vision test for what the room is calibrated to. He stressed he can't take the chair outside.

The point being that most people just see icons. They can't discern between 58, 60, 62 and 64 pixels. They can't tell if it's 2 pixels off center either. I altered their size a bit and will include it in the next upload whenever that is. If it is not perfectly centered or anything like that I don't care. For the future reference, I am disinterested in anything nit-picky like this. With all that said I do have my own personal preferences myself that may seem nit-picky I just have a different threshold.

If you want to try other markers you can get ConspicuousQuestMarkers. The game caches those so when you disable the mod that won't disable those changes. If you do not prefer those icons no problem just exit the game and uninstall the mod and then the icons will revert back to whatever they were.

I love the mod but the large Quest ! are annoying.
what would we ask of the Quest map creature to have the two mods play well with each other?

Thank you

Ok I will install it and see what I can do , thanks!
Edit: do you mean the custom ! icons are too big ?
That's because these Icons are bigger, I will see if I can do something...

Thanks for the info, I was focused on the main map, not the minimap, but making it work with minimaps is an interesting goal, i will see what I can do.

I looks like it wrongly modifies the pins size on Votan's Minimap but not on MiniMap by Fyrakin.

I will investigate.
Probably has something to do with votan's minimap using the main map. the other guy's minimap addon is his own creation of some sort.
Edit: Solved.
