You know? There are a few nice people around here. They're great, I'd do anything I could to help them. The rest, though? Well... they're rude and not always that smart. I've moved on over to Nexus Mods. I can't stick it here, any more, honestly. I can't. I mean, look at Gizmoduck, here. Let's count the issues in just the lates...

Edit: I just want to take a moment to thank @joshmiller83 for actually trying the MediaFire version, and being nice in general. As a person with an anxiety condition, this has been hard. (I moved this to the top as I want it to be seen first). Notice: To those who're misbehaving (which isn't all of you), there's this thing we call...

Let's do this the way I did prior. Does anyone have any issues with the above version of the mod? Specifically that one. Does that still crash people?

That's absolutely bizarre. I tried it with fake data over thousands of books and I couldn't get it to crash, so I'm not sure what's going on, there. Are you sure it's the latest 005 release, did the zip say 005? If it did, I'll continue working on it. Edit: I think for some reason people are getting stuck with the 004 release. The...

Reuploaded and confirmed to be 005. I redownloaded it and even checked the lua file myself. I don't know why 005 didn't originally upload, sorry!!

Yeeeah. I just downloaded it myself. That's not the latest version. ?????? I'll upload again, and verify this time.

@joshmiller83 If you're feeling nervous about other people knowing your character names? You can email me the databases: [email protected] I'm putting my mail here like this as a show of trust, as that kind of thing is mutual. I've never had bad intent with any of my work, and I absolutely won't remember anythi...

As for the Minion issue? No clue. I think it might be related to not haveing a version listed in your .txt file? Poop. I never remember to update version numbers. I have a blind spot for that. I'll start doing that in the next version, then, and I'll try to remember.

If the addon menu isn't showing, then it's definitely a database issue. The mod very specifically won't load anything unless it's been properly initialised, to try and cut down on bugs. That includes the addon menu.

@joshmiller83 Apocrypha being a new mod will require you to redo the keybind. If you haven't done that since you were using Librarian, that's why. Failing that? It sounds like it could be a corrupted database issue. Perhaps the update function didn't run properly? If you could upload your database, I could fix it for you. Just...

New version up. I knew the problem couldn't have been specifically with the import function. I benchmark lua a lot, so I understood that string manipulation happening that fast and on that scale was still efficient and wouldn't have caused any problems. I knew the issue had to lie elsewhere. I didn't know if I'd be able to figu...

YES! I was right! It's because it was calling RefreshData on every instance of AddBook. Derp. That's what was causing the issue. It was nothing to do with string handling at all! It's because ESO can't handle refreshing its UI that much, that fast. So by ensuring AddBook doesn't call RefreshData, and that RefreshData is actuall...

Right on, I'll look forward to it then. Thank you for being understanding. I'm terrified of what staggering can do if it goes wrong. I need this to be safe. Crashing is one thing. Locking up one's computer is another entirely.

It's still not a great idea, though, Phinix. I'm sorry. I had a better one, I've already implemented it and it's working and even safer and quicker. As I suspected, the problem was with how AddBook was being called. So I properly staggered that, instead. I'm pleased with how the import function is working, now. Edit: Running mo...

I was just about to ask what Phinix was on. >_>; I was also going to ask: Did anyone else see josh's post? Anyone? Having a staggered import is a very bad idea. Pocket Apocrypha uses ESO's own lore library building code. So if the import is crashing, it's likely because a bug is happening somewhere outside of the import. The st...

Pocket Apocrypha I didn't use the original Librarian name as... well, it just felt uncomfortable to do so. It was barely the same mod and I'd rather just leave this one here as it is, for those who wish to keep their titles-based addon. For those who've been using my Librarian builds, here? Yes, you absolutely can convert over...

Considering a lot of people aren't seeing this and will still be drawing downloads through Minion, I'm wondering if I should finally bite the bullet and upload this to ESOUI. Just under a different name (so I'm not appropriating that), and linking back here so that people can fav this mod instead. It's been two months since the last...

Re: Where's the LDB functionality for this game?
I'm actually confused by how you think LibDataBroker is applicable here. LDB is, ultimately, a way to provide skinnable containers for textual information. While it does provide a unified aesthetic for that textual information, it also brings with it a lot of overhead, bloat, and unnecessary resource usage. ZOS already has a syste...

Update! What's new? Nothing too exciting this time, just a bit of necessary code cleanup. I want the Librarian.lua to be as readable as possible without even requiring comments, that should make it easier for others to maintain should I ever not be present to maintain it (I won't be playing ESO forever). Other than that, the...

A Wild Update Appears! What's new? Yeah, I work fast. Book contents are now searchable again! You can thank Nudel for that, as nosing around in other mods helped me figure out what was causing the crash. Even better, it shouldn't crash! Please tell me if it crashes you, I ran extensive tests to try to get it to crash me and...

That's genuinely helpful and I really appreciate it, thank you! I know it's hard to tell on the Internet with so much sarcasm abounds, but I'm being sincere about that and I'll explain why. I've really appreciated your aid thus far in improving Librarian. The duplicate book in question "Crow and Raven: Three Short Fables" is a pre...
