Organize tool and item focus

Usecase: I need to put item A at the center of one of the surfaces of item B. Item B is bigger than item A in all the dimensions. So when I use the 'center on' Organize tool of item A, it gets pushed entirely inside of item B. And since the focus goes away, I cant select item A again to 'precision edit' it to the surface of item B....
