 How to use TOM?

Hello,
I just downloaded this addon and I'm pretty confused on how to use it. It seems like no matter what, both chats are open and I can't get the vanilla one to disappear.
Also, can I only speak in TOMish with the addon? Whenever I type something using the addon it just opens the vanilla one with the TOMish cypher in the text...
