Is this caused by an addon?
I keep getting this error randomly when I'm trying to deposit stuff in the bank:
Code:
2017-08-08T10:32:15.532+01:00 |cff0000Lua Error: EsoUI/Ingame/Inventory/InventorySlot.lua:692: Attempt to access a private function 'PickupInventoryItem' from insecure code. The callstack became untrusted 3 stack frame(s) from the top. |
It is indirectly caused by one or more addons. There is currently no good way to debug this issue. Make sure you have the latest version of all your addons and maybe post a list of what you have installed here.
|
I have a ton of addons and some of them are obviously outdated, because there are no good alternatives :(
The puzzling thing is it only happens sometimes. Definitely in each play session, but not every time I open the bank. That makes it pretty much impossible to trace down to a concrete addon :( Is there any way to export installed addons or do I need to post a list of the folders from the documents location? |
Since they fixed inventories loaded by addons, the other possibility is probably improperly implemented right click menus. Do you have addons that change right click behavior in the inventory or bank? New options or something along those lines?
|
Hm.
Can you see anything wrong? |

What you'll have to do is turn off all your addons, and then turn them on one by one until you encounter the bug again. As for which addons to turn back on first, I would suggest the less popular ones, and the more popular ones near the end. |
Not totally relevant, but someone's ReadMe.txt is loading as an addon in your list. :P
I don't actually know what all of those addons do, but I'll explain how this issue used to occur often and see if you can think of anything you're using that does it: If inventory/bank code was touched by an addon before you physically accessed it, it'd declare the whole thing "tainted' and disable it (hence error). AGS used to cause this issue because it was possible to open the sell tab before you opened your inventory. So your inventory was tainted by AGS' "inventory." This was fixed. However I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong), that right click menus that are directly implemented in the inventory/bank can still cause this insecurity issue. Which is why votan created LibCustomMenu (you don't need to install that; authors are supposed to use it). So if someone forgoes using his library and does the same functionality directly, you can cause that tainting. Maybe some of the addons you're using that are really old did not properly handle this? |
Thanks for the explanation. Thing is, if some of the addons I have implement anything under right mouse button, I don't use it.
I'm afraid I will just have to live with it, because it happens so randomly I might not even be able to (reliably) reproduce it. Fortunately UI reset fixes it. Still, a mystery. Also, the readme :D :D Yes I noticed. |
For one thing ThiefTools conflicts with NoAccidentalStealing...
They are trying to control the same setting. That's not the likely cause of your problem here though. |
That's a good tip anyway.
I presume the conflict is with the auto steal feature of Thief tools? |

I may be wrong then... assumptions. Sorry.

Do you have my version of CraftStore? I may be at fault.

Can confirm it's the CraftStore which causing the LUA error. It's not a pop-up anyway just silently hiding in the Notifications.:D
|
This is puzzling.
Code:
Duplicate Keybind: UI_SHORTCUT_PRIMARY. Before: tradinghouse (Buy Item). After: stats (Commit Points). |
It's one of your addons dealing with KEYBIND_STRIP. Just do a search.
It need to be manipulated with a callback on the scene. If not, you can have errors like this. Basically to avoid the error, it should be : Lua Code:
Have fun searching. |
What confuses me is that it only happened about 3 times thus far, but always when doing the same thing. Must be something dynamic involved.
But with no reliable way to reproduce it, I don't know how to troubleshoot it. |
Any idea which add-on can cause this? Can't be all 3 together.
LUA error: user:/AddOns/DolgubonsLazySetCrafter/Libs/LibLazyCrafting/LibLazyCrafting.lua:235: attempt to index a nil value stack traceback: user:/AddOns/DolgubonsLazySetCrafter/Libs/LibLazyCrafting/LibLazyCrafting.lua:235: in function 'LibLazyCrafting.stackableCraftingComplete' user:/AddOns/WritWorthy/Libs/LibLazyCrafting/Provisioning.lua:69: in function 'LLC_ProvisioningCraftingComplete' user:/AddOns/DolgubonsLazyWritCreator/libs/LibLazyCrafting/LibLazyCrafting.lua:453: in function 'CraftComplete' |

Read the eror, the answer is inside.
|
Anything that showas as /lib/ or /libs/ is meant to be realted to a library. As libraries are included in several addons there is indeed the chance that it is bot of the addon mentioned that are wrong (or simply the library is wrong). So please contact the addon dev or the library dev (if they aren't the same).
But it's pretty obvious which addon causes the lua error as Ayantir told you: It's written inside and you just answered your question yourself before (2 addons, 1 library = 3). |
I'd love to know how it's obvious because it wasn't obvious to me.
|
With obvious I meant that there is a library that all addons seem to use, so it should be the library, or any of the 2-3 other shown addons that are "obviously written" in the string next to /AddOns/<Name here>
|
Looking at the error, it's obvious the problem is from the lib (red for clarity):
Code:
user:/AddOns/DolgubonsLazySetCrafter/Libs/LibLazyCrafting/LibLazyCrafting.lua:235: attempt to index a nil value |
Ah yeah that makes sense. I was thinking a bit further ahead, I guess.
|
I still keep getting the error from the first post at random when depositing items into the bank. It happens at random, but when it does, it's always when I mouse over an item and press E.
|
More recently (past few weeks maybe), I've occasionally had that issue as well, but I haven't pinpointed what specific steps/addon is causing it.
