Hello,

after the update of today Minion stopps loading at the point "Loading ESO addons.". So I deinstalled it completely (with all leftover files) and ran the install manually. Nothing changed. When I look at the minion.xml the game path points to live (I had this problem earlier), so I removed the version 2 entry and changed that path to liveeu. I guess this problem just keeps existing because I still have two directories (live and liveeu, and minion grabs the first one). However, this does not solve the stuck-at-loading problem. Now I ran out of ideas.
Perhaps " <message>Ping Status for http://api.mmoui.com/: 200</message> " at the minion.log is a hint? When I try to ping that exact adress (with http://) it does not work. When I just ping api.mmoui.com it works (the same with cdn.mmoui.com).
Also the log shows just the find of my wow game installation.

I solved my problem. I disabled my anti-virus (AVG) temporarily and restarted Minion. Now it continued loading normally. So I added the minion program path (c:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Minion\) to AVG's exceptions and the problem is solved. So if someone experiences the same problem check your internet security software and try adding minions program path to its exceptions before getting crazy :D

Hmmm, it worked "once". I was able to update all addons with AVG running. After closing Minion and restarting it it is stuck again. So I disabled AVG again, but Minion keeps being stuck.

Seems I need to start minion as admin. Then it works. Ill continue to investigate this issue.

But now I found a real (?) bug. When I remove WoW from minion and restart minion the program detects a wow installation (the same one) and adds the game and its addons again. After this I find two wow-entries in the minion.xml, the first with the flags

ignore="true" unique-game-id="WOW-1"

and the second without the ignore-flag and unique-game-id="WOW-2"

Strangely this does not happen with the Elder Scrolls live installation which I also removed from minion. This one stays ignored and does not add again. If no one else does experience this I guess we can ignore this - might be the result of my extensive experiments to get minion running. For now I am happy with a working addon manager! Cause its 1am now I will grab some sleep. Have fun!

Starting in Admin and giving Minion exceptionel status in my AVR does not work for me.

Stuck on loading after update
 

Like the rest in this forum I'm stuck on Loading screen and can't move past this point.
It does seem to load a lot more now.. I had only set up for ESO addons, but it seems to be scanning through all my wow addons also and is currently stuck on wow-addon.

Other than Minion currently not working - super addon :)

It seems that at each Minion launch it scans all my hard drives looking for a WOW install, after 1 or two minutes it finally come to a usable interface, without WOW as I only have ESO.

You can check that Minion is scanning all drives in the task manager in Windows 8 in the second tab.

Seems like Minion search, as mentioned, all drives all games...
A fix would be to make sure it only search for Games installed in My Games setup with path already there... this would avoid the loooong search through all the TB on all hard drives.

I thought Minion locked up, but it just takes forever to load the ESO addons in the new version.
Don't know what have been done, but the previous version was MUCH faster loading those addons.

I would also like an option to disable autoscan for installations at startup, as that also takes up lot of time.

I also noticed that I can't add my EU installation to the list.
One of my friends had to reinstall Minion a couple of weeks ago, and it started detecting BOTH his client installations.

For now I semi-solved the slow load speed by editing "minion.xml" at the line below (setting it to "0"):
<game-scan-depth>0</game-scan-depth>

Minion searches at a max of 4 directories deep for the Wow.exe on all drives.

Is it taking a long time to load on every restart of Minion? It should only be taking awhile once during the initial scan for Wow.

It's getting kind of difficult to support all you in one thread here so if you have a different issue please post your minion.xml and log in a different thread with a description of the issue and I'll take a look at it.

I just want to confirm that every one in this thread can eventually get Minion to load right? It just takes a long time?

Does it always take a long time now? What happens once you restart after Minion loads once?

Count me as well. Takes a long time to load, but eventually does.

I have some tickets in to make loading faster. I hope to have a patch out soon but probably not until next week.

Better WOW detection, and make it so Minion remembers that it didn't detect anything the first time so it doesn't try to keep re-detecting the game on the next startup.

Sorry about this bug, the good thing is you can now Minimize Minion into your system tray and it will automatically update its AddOn data every hour, so when you re-maximize Minion it will show you updates (or auto-update if enabled). So if you want you can just leave Minion open although if your on a slower machine with little resources you may not want to do that.

Hello. adding some info.

Clean install fresh windows 8.
Cant even add my game info, it just start to search for games and addons.
No the minion does not get loaded. stops at Loading have waited for more than 5h :(

I have temporarily turned off WoW support until we can get a patch out that deals with the loading issues. Restart Minion and let me know if this improves loading for you?

Maybe adding an option to toggle WoW support client-side for those who don't have WoW would help.
