Hello my name is Olli
i was looking for installing some AddOns and i looked many guides "how to install AddOns" but any guide showed the elder scrolls folder is under C:\Users\< username >\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\ I canīt find any eso folder at that point. I installed eso under C: and use win 10 checked allready the OneDrive |
Welcome Olli to the ESOUI Community. :)
Copy (CTRL + C) the following line: %userprofile%\documents\elder scrolls online\live\addons (This line works for all windows versions and languages) Open your Windows Explorer (Windows Button + E) and paste (CTRL + V) the line in the navigation bar. Press Enter and you are in the right directory to install addons. You can also use this line as directory input for unpack addons. |

Dosnīt find any under this
|
Have you started ESO before and successfully logged in with a character?
|
If you have logged in at least once you can search for the file UserSettings.txt. In the folder AddOns there should be located your addons. If it does not exist create it.
Btw the folder %userprofile%\documents should exist at least. If eso did not create the subfolder Elder Scrolls Online (after your login!) you could also try to create it yourself, but the game should handle this on its own. |
I already successfully logged into my character and played some time.
i can not find any file that called UserSettings.txt |

Hm, this is unusual. Do you play ESO via Steam? What do you see if you open the folder I've mentioned in my last post (the %userprofile%\documents)? Is it the same folder like in your first screenshot? |

I play eso via launcher not on steam
i see under %userprofile%\documents no eso folder i didnīt change the install folder eso is under C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online |
The game seems to have not enough permission to write the necessary folders & files to the user directory. Try to start the ESO Launcher as administrator, login to your character and look again if the game has written the folder. When not! Close your game and Navigate to:
"..\TESO\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client" and set the ESO64.exe to be started as administrator, start the game, login into your character & look if the folder was now be written. |
If this does not work and if you are using any anti-virus tool put the eso64.exe on the whitelist/allowed programs so it is able to write to your documents folder.
Edit: Searched and found this as well. Maybe it is the reason for your problems here: After the latest Windows update "1903" I turned on "Controlled Folder Access." This was keeping ESO from accessing my Addons folder. To fix your problem open "Windows Security" go to the "Virus & Threat Protection" tab and turn off "Controlled Folder Access." |

or you made the folder content hidden? If you haven't done that yet try to manualy install windows 10 update 1903 https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/soft...load/windows10 |
I updated all of my driver to their newest version
checked the permission from eso64.exe is on whitelist and will started as administator. Started the game walk some time around with my character and close the game regulary looked for the new folder. Nothing happend |
Did you check the hints from my last post?
Code:
After the latest Windows update "1903" I turned on "Controlled Folder Access." This was keeping ESO from accessing my Addons folder. To fix your problem open "Windows Security" go to the "Virus & Threat Protection" tab and turn off "Controlled Folder Access." Or did you check what Tonyleila wrote about your documents folder? He is right, there must be way more fodlers and files in there than just the 1 folder you got. Something is wrong with it. |
It was the Folder Virus controll, it worked
thank you |
