Error when migrating a plugin from manual uploads to zip from ESOUI Git
Hi there,
not a showstopper, but somehow strange: The following addon has been created by manually uploading the zip at first. https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info...arvestMap.html I then discovered the ESOUI git, created a repository, got it up and running (Hint: it would be nice to know that the main/head branch must be named "master", else zip-creation) [email protected]:eso-HarvestRoute-379 / http://git.esoui.com/?a=summary&p=HarvestRoute But when trying to use the "Make Zip" option from the "Git Control Panel", chose the addon from "merge", enter all details, I can create a zipfile, but trying to publish gives an error: "Sorry, for some reason the file didnt copy over. Please contact an admin asap. " Clicking on "merge" next to the select box does exactly nothing except a post on "https://www.esoui.com/git.php?p=push&id=379" with postfields "do=mergegit&fileid=3356". That post feeds back to the push-page. Is that the intended behaviour? Is gi*****rging broken, or did I misunderstand the idea of that function? If any testing or further information is required, get in touch. Until that is fixed I will continue to simply manually upload the zips created from git :) TY in advance |
Try now it should be fixed. Sometimes when you link a git repo to an existing addon in our database and don't go all the way through pusing a release it wont save the addon id you linked the git repo to and the next time it wont like you re-link the addon. I've corrected this on your git repo so now releases should work for you.
I will say not many are using our git repos anymore. Authors generally now use github and then a github action that uses our API https://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6556#19 |
GIT control apnel already looks different:
HarvestRoute is not a separate entry with "add git repo" checkbox any more. There was no merge option after chosing "make zip", so I guess you've done the merge? Also, updating the addon worked flawlessly. Thank you very much. I'll have a look into the API integration for other repository services. Just felt that using the "native" GIT was a good option :) |
