I can't think of anything that would lock the files other than a virus scan.

I am not sure if the information is available in the API, but if it is show exactly who isn't ready and who isn't ready. Add check marks next to their name in the ui group/raid frame or in the party...

I would be interested in an addon that helps with locating and targeting dead bodies. This could helpful when trying to find a dead guy in the middle of a clump of players in Cyrodil.
