Which would be perfect additional feature to add once you have it working.
This could be spotty, but I'm purely guessing, because the in-game journal has had problems with tracking certain achievements in the past.
Basically I'm suggesting following a "release early, release often" style to get started. Be upfront that it does not all the feature completed yet, and that may have some rough edges, and users will generally be cooperative and supportive. Some may be keen enough to send you patches.
I haven't looked at the map and map pins portion of the API so I can't offer any advice or help there, but I can help with basic Lua questions - I've just started using it myself with ESO, and wish you best of luck.
